Recent Review: The plumber arrived several hours after we called. He gave a clear explanation of the problem and had the problem fixed in a short time. He did a very nice job of cleaning up. The charge was quite reasonable. We would certainly call this company again if we have another plumbing problem.
Recent Review: The first plumber I called to look at my leaking shower drain said he'd have to remove the shower insert in order to fix the leak. That didn't seem right to me so I called Mr. Plumber for a second opinion. Steve Plant arrived on time diagnosed the problem and said he was confident he could repair it without ripping out the shower. He came back a few days later and fixed it. They also guarantee their work for a year, which the first plumber would not.

Called for appointment. Response was very good and punctual. Repair went smoothly, and he put extra caulk on new pipe. He even provided drain cleaner to be used. Would call them again.

Had severe leaks in the basement. Called Lock Tight (and others) for estimate. Was given a very comprehensive plan to not only fix leaks but to also move as much water away from the house and work that came with a transferable warranty for 30 years. So although the cost was $23,000 we knew we were not going to go through the **** we endured last fall so we put down a deposit in March. For the next few months we worried that we were spending too much. Then the work began. Three days before there was a moderate rain and the water poured in which helped us cope with the cost. Work began and the job supervisor Tom and his crew arrived and went over every detail of the coming days which began with jack hammering the basement floor. After an hour and 45 minutes they broke for lunch so I of course went downstairs to see the 'damage'. I was astounded to see that in that short amount of time they had managed to complete about 280' of the 300' necessary. The speed of the work was a recurring theme. They had laid a protective membrane over the hardwood floor that led from the basement door to the front door which I am sure is standard among every company that does this type of work. What was extraordinary was at the end of the day when they were preparing to leave. I saw a worker on his hands and knees pulling up the barrier working his was out the front door. Every couple of feet he would reach out and pick up small debris, place it on the barrier and continue folding it up trapping it. This was done everyday. At the end of day one all of the old drain tile had been removed and all concrete debris, stone and clay tile removed. They then in essence power washed the basement floor leaving it cleaner than when they found it. Other highlights: They dug the tranches to tie my downspouts into the Town storm drain but instead of just digging the trench, they removed the grass and rolled it like sod so it could be replaced eliminating any reseeding from me. All I was required to do was water that grass everyday; something that every single person on the crew reminded us of at least once before leaving that afternoon. It felt like they were as concerned with it regrowing as much as we were. At the downspouts and in several locations in the basement are cleanouts so every two years or so I can flush all of the pipes and keep this system like new for many years. They worked through heat, they worked through rain and we never heard anyone complaining which brings me to the crew itself. This was a very physically demanding job and the amount of work they accomplished in one week still amazes me. Every member of the crew was professional and pleasant. no matter who we asked a question to, we were always given an answer. Never did someone tell us we had to ask someone else which showed they were all knowledgeable in their job as well as the specifics of what we had paid.for. Lastly and while perhaps not important to some of you reading this but of immense importance to us was their interaction with our 2 year old daughter. For five days she had strange people coming into her house and making quite a bit of noise so of course she was very curious. Countless times when we would look away she would head over to the areas where, as she put it, 'the boys' were. She oversaw some of the digging as well as he removal of much of the basement debris and no matter how many questions she asked, no matter how tired they were, each and every member of the crew would engage her with a smile on their face. This includes the poor guy who she told to "keep digging." When the day came for them to pack up leave for the last time my daughter was asleep. My wife actually woke her up so that she could say goodbye to her new friends, knowing she would be disappointed if she missed them. I guess maybe the best thing I can say is that we did not buy an in-ground pool or a bathroom or kitchen remodel. We spent $23,000 on work that in fact we cannot even see. We can't show it off or even step back and admire it. Yet knowing this very important job was done with such professionalism and attention to detail as well as the manner in which the crew conducted themselves I don't think we could be happier. I have been and will continue to recommend Lock Tight to everyone.

AEd Young's True Value Hardware
One morning I discovered that one of my water heaters had begun leaking into my basement. When I discovered it, there was about 3 inches of water standing as my sump pump had been modified for radon purposes. I call Ed Youngs and they were here within one hour, in the mean time my daughter and I began wet vacing the basement. Bob, the plumber, quickly determined that one of my two water heaters had ended its useful life with a interior melt-down and began leaking water out of the bottom. As the other water heater was the same age he recommended the replacement of both units. The assistant went to pick up replacement units from the warehouse as Bob readied the current system for the replacement. The plumbers arrived at around 1:00 pm and departed at approximately 5:00 pm.

This Contractor placed plastic with an adhesive down on my Slate floor leading to the basement when they pulled the plastic up it stripped the sealer off my Slate floor. Since Nov. 7th I have been trying to get them to address this issue so that my slate floor is re-sealed. Nov. 24th Mr. Dick Young, President came over to my house to inspect the floor (this would be the third inspection) and after this inspection assured me he would pay to have the floor re-sealed I just needed to provide him with a quote. Dec. 8th I provided him with a quote to re-seal the floor rather than honor his promise his office informed me during the week of Dec 14th that they wanted their supplier's inspector to come by and inspect my floor. On Dec 19th their supplier's inspector came by my house and inspected the floor. On Jan 9th being that I had not heard anything from Mr. Young I called his office and spoke with his office personnel Pat asking her what was the status of my getting monies from them to have my floor re-sealed she said she would get back to me that day and to date I have not heard from her. Today I faxed a letter to Mr. Young asking Their responsiveness leaves a lot to be desired I am frustrated and very disappointed. ***This is an update to review I posted did not know how to submit a reply to their response here it is. Once I contacted their Insurance Company they never came out to inspect the damage about 5 days later I got a letter in the mail stating that they denied the claim so they did this without ever inspecting the floor and Mr. Young lied to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) stating that his Insurance Company sent an adjuster to my home to inspect the floor additionally his supplier's inspector did in fact state that they damaged my floor. Mr. Young then wanted me to accept his offer to pay for the damage if I forfeit all my 20 year warranties I told him no he damaged my property he just needs to do the right thing and pay for the repairs my warranty is not part of the issues. I have copies of documents to support this if you required them.

The service went well. Overall time was about 3.5 hours. Very clean and professional at all times. We didn't have the cartridge needed for the tub handle so provider sold to us & installed it for one price. Angie's List coupon made this about 1/2 the cost of what the service would have been. Would recommend this company and service person for any needed plumbing work.

My tenant in a rental property reported there was water leaking through the ceiling of the living room. I called Mr. Plumber and they sent someone out the next day. He opened up the ceiling and saw no water on the supply or drain pipes and determined that the leak was being cause by water on the floor along the edge of the tub. The change for opening the ceiling was $150, $110 after my Angie's list coupon was applied. I asked my tenant and her two children to not use the shower and just take baths to see if the issue was resolved. Within a couple of weeks the ceiling was dried out and I was preparing to have the ceiling repaired and install splash guards on the tub when it started leaking again. A called Frank's Mr. Plumber and asked to speak to the plumber, Pat who had originally come out. He as perplexed by the fact that the leak had stopped and then started again but said he would come out and take another look. This time he found a small crack int the hot water supply line. He determined that he could cut a larger hole in the surround around the handle and then install a wider escutcheon to cover the hole. A cheaper alternative to taking out the surround. This cost me an additional $493.32. On both occasions I had an appointment within a day or two of my call and Pat was always prompt. courteous and professional.

Joe the plumber was on time, polite and as usual the price was moderate! Joe saved me the expense of having to buy and install a new toilet by using his experience to improvise and fix a part. He also showed me that I just needed to tighten the nut on the water line outside to stop the leak. I trusted him to get me a very good faucet, which he did and had it installed in a half hour. I have dealt with another firm for many years and I can tell you that they would not have done this.
