Recent Review: A week before Amtech came, my air conditioner was not working; I called the company from whom I purchased it and who serviced it; they made me wait four or five days, despite a heatwave, and then came. At first they told me that they needed to bring it to their shop (as they had done just a year earlier for an exorbitant price) but when I noticed that a wire was not connected I asked them to connect it and, being pressed to do so, the unit worked. When it failed a week later, I again called the other company, and they told me that it would be four more days to come look at it, that they would have to find out if I had to pay another service charge. I found the whole experience frustrating and less than credible. I looked on Angie's list and saw the good references for Amtech. I called them on a Friday morning, a day with temperatures near 100 degrees and they agreed to come less than three hours later. The service people, Drew and Marcos, were wonderful, very professional and straightforward. It turned out that they had to take the unit in to determine what the problem was but they did tell me that the service call fee of $250 would go toward the evaluation and repair cost. I had an elderly houseguest coming three days later and I asked, if possible, if they could try and get it back to me within the three days. Drew said he would ask them to try for as early as the next day. To my great surprise and pleasure, I spoke to Arik early the next morning, a Saturday, and he told me what was wrong with the unit, what it needed, and the cost. He was very straightforward about exactly what was wrong and what it needed to work. Although I thought that the cost was a bit high, the unit was under good professional care, it was during a heat wave, they were working double time to get it back to me and he said it would definitely be back by the third day. I found the conversation honest and transparent. I was equally delighted and surprised when Arik called me back less than an hour later to tell me that they had another job near me and that they would be happy to return and reinstall the working unit in my apartment. This was less than 24 hours after they first came to check it out and take it. WOW! Talk about good service and a caring attitude. When Drew and John came back to reinstall it, where it is now happily working, I called Arik to tell him how pleased I was with their work and with his thoughtful and professional attitude and honesty. I cannot praise this firm enough. They are honest, hard-working, transparent, thoughtful and professional. Although the price was a bit higher than I expected, they are a superb firm and I will endorse and recommend them to anyone. It was a pleasure to do business with them.
