Recent Review: The bathroom is unrecognizable as the patchy old version I lived with for years! Edwin's plastering and painting transformed the walls into a beautiful space, which took at least 4 or 5 coats of plaster and a lot of patient work on his part. He found and refurbished a replacement for my 100-year-old medicine cabinet, which now has a clean metal look to it. His tile work is top-notch, and he even helped with some plumbing problems, without extra charge. After the walls were finished, he helped me measure and reinstall some decorative items. (He also has fine carpentry skills, which I have witnessed in other jobs in my apartment over the years.)

Anthony and his team were very professional. He showed up on time the first day and worked until the end of the day. I was very impressed in how the team cleaned up after each day. The overall experience was great and my ceilings look great. My neighbors were very impressed and I foresee him getting other jobs within the complex.

I had several small jobs in my home that because I am not at all handy and don't have the proper tools, I was unable to perform myself. Upon contacting Mr. Ebanks and describing the work that I needed done, he assured me that these were all things that his company has had experience with and could perform to my satisfaction. We then set up an appontment for him to give me an estimate for the work. On the day and time that he was scheduled to come in, he called to advise me that he would be unable to be there at the specified time and asked to reschedule for later that day. I appreciated the phone call and we made arrangements for a different time that day. He showed up at that time promptly and accessed the situation. Upon completion of his accessment, he advised me of exactly what the job would entale, how he would do it and how long it would take to complete. He then quoated me a price that I knew to be more than fair. At that point we set up a day and time for the work to be done. He called the day before and confirmed our appointment. The next day he and an employee showed up at the appointed time and began the work. The next day he returned with another employee to complete the work. When completed it was exactly as he said it would be. There were no problems and no work done that was not what he had previously specified. They cleaned up after themselves before they left leaving no indication that they had been there other than the completed work. They were very professional. I would definitly use their services again. And I would recommend them to others.

I did not use My Town Handyman as I thought he was a bit too expensive for what I needed done. I needed to have two walls repaired with a new piece of drywall (about 2 by 2 area) provided by me. I also wanted a thin piece of drywall installed in the bathroom ceiling to cover stains and light damage from removing a popcorn ceiling (I was going to do the sanding and painting myself). I needed a 6 foot counter top installed (counter top from Home Depot provided by me). He suggested just spackling both walls and the bathroom ceiling (instead of putting drywall) to save money and installing the counter top for about $1500. I can't remember the exact amount as I waited too long to review and date he came to give me the estimate is not approximate, but I went with someone else and got the work done for $500. Otherwise, he was pleasant and punctual for the appointment.

Steve arrived on time, even removed his boots (of his own choosing) to respect my hardwood floors. He got right to work on the repairs we had discussed in a previous estimate. Once done, everything was cleaned up.

I had another terrific experience working with Nunez Construction. (You can see my earlier review posted on May 16, 2013). This most recent job concerned my house?s first floor, which was too compartmentalized to be practical. The idea was to create an open concept space. We did meet with various companies initially to obtain quotes and gauge how much the work should cost but at the end of the day we selected Nunez because we were familiar with his work ethic and accessibility. You see, his job does not end when the particular work is done. He was very responsive when we had an issue with plumbing following the initial renovation earlier this year. His responsiveness, coupled with a competitive quote, made him the clear choice. Work began on August 5. The original timeframe for the project was four weeks but the crew finished in two weeks, which was a wonderful bonus for us. Nunez worked with us when we wanted to add some elements (e.g., crown molding) and the end result is exactly what I envisioned. I highly recommend Nunez for your home improvement needs. He is honest, reliable and his crew is hard-working and efficient. I will surely reach out to him for any future renovations.

The worker was there early, extremely polite. He was efficient and did a great job. He left me with NO mess. I was very happy with the quality of the work. It was tough getting a date from the owner of the service but, once we had that date we were very pleased.

This four room rental apartment was in horrible condition. The bathroom ceiling was worse than popcorn. Carlos spent eight days working on the project. Carlos is very clean and professional. Furthermore, he even painted a long hallway that we had not discussed, for no additional charge. It was also nice that Carlos helped with paint selection and then purchased all the paint. I recommend him to others.

Alan has an excellent eye and very quickly mounted all items. He also cleaned up the work area before moving on to the next. My husband had made phone arrangements with Alan and he told us that he charges by the hour, a minimum of 2 hrs. for $150. Our job took 3 hrs. As we live on Roosevelt Island, my husband offered to pay for Alan's parking fee in the garage, as we have limited parking. Our fault was that we didn't clarify, prior to Alan's visit, that we wanted to hang the plants from a popcorn cement ceiling. Alan and I didn't have the correct hardware and he said that hanging them from the ceiling would eventually cause the hooks to loosen and fall. However, I have a friend in the building who has had large hanging plants for many years, with no problems.
