Bridgeport Shower Valve Repair

We needed the valve and trim kit replaced in our master bathroom. The appointment to quote the work was scheduled quickly and conveniently. Sean arrived at the agreed-upon time and thoroughly reviewed the work required, taking copious notes and pictures. All questions and concerns were addressed thoughtfully. A quote was provided the same day. The quoted price was competitive and reflective of the work required. Scheduling the work was quick and easy. On the day the work was scheduled to be done, Sean arrived at the appointed time. Prior to arrival, he sent a much-appreciated "I'm on my way and I'll be there in..." text message. Onsite, Sean's approach to the work was methodical, thoughtful, and workmanlike. He assumed nothing and considered each step as he progressed in an efficient manner. The finished product and time required was exactly as expected and the work area was left spotless. Payment was made at the completion of the work and a receipt was delivered promptly. I will certainly be keeping McCann Mechanical in mind for any future plumbing or HVAC needs.

The woman who answered the phone was very friendly. The plumber arrived the same day. He was professional and courteous. We were very satisfied with the job that was completed!

I got Mark's name from Angieslist and after having him up to repair my shower it's clear he deserves the numerous pages of 'A' ratings on this site. About a week ago I had another local plumber up to install a new bathroom sink faucet and fix the dripping shower. He claimed he put a new cartridge in and by the time he was done messing with it the dripping was so bad he had to put a metal bolt where the shower head goes. He left telling me the whole faucet needed replacing and ran out. When Mark came over what he noticed immediately was the cartridge was the old one and was never changed. He said it looked like the other plumber had maybe put grease on it to try to fix it. Mark showed me the cartridge and it was clear it had years of decay on it. Mark replaced it with a new one and the shower is working perfectly.

Ron from Country Gentleman Plumbing arrived the same day with the replacement valve (I had texted photo's of the corroded valve). In less than an hour Ron had the new valve installed and the area cleaned up. The Country Gentleman plumber was friendly, courteous and very professional. He even liked our dog. A+ performance!

In an entirely unexpected turn of events, husband replaced valve before Mark could come out to do it. However, all interactions were pleasant, easily set the appointment, was very honest about not being able to fully estimate repair before seeing it, and even helped me over the phone to ID water shut-off - really wanted me to know where that was in our new (and first) home. Will definitely call again in the case that a job is beyond husband's capabilities.

Went well. I left a message late Friday afternoon and got a call back first thing Monday morning. The replacement valve was a "drop in"--apparently mine was a common one. He lacked a washer on the meter side that was torn and rather than have me ask OCWA to replace it (apparently they "own" that part), he went back to the shop to get one, but I didn't get charged for the trip (which was good). I didn't want to rate the quality yet because only time will tell if the valve/job holds up. This site made me put something, so I put N/A. I will try to update this later.

Hire this guy. If you have a plumbing issue, no matter what it is, or What It Develops Into, Mark will, professionally, with enthusiasm & Extensive Practical knowledge, leave you with a plumbing system that, you will Show Your Friends! You can tell right from the start, this guy knows his stuff. Cheapest? probably not, but the value of having a plumbing job Done Once, that even the plumbing Inspector, says, nice work, is Priceless. I liked him so well, i have hired him three times since. Being an owner of almost 15 Turn of Century Victorian Or Craftsman style, upscale professional rental properties, the absolute assurance i have made the right decision is in the tenant callbacks with issues. over the past two years, i just got, 1 call. Although the reported problem not really his 'fault', he stepped Right Up & solved quickly, within hours, & without charge. That is value. He offers insights with each visit that most other professionals keep to themselves. Hire this guy & you will end up telling your relatives about him! did i say Hire This Guy yet? Really, i mean it. I have never said it about any contractor before. Your problem will be solved with no B.S. How much is That Worth??!
