Recent Review: When things were finally arranged for someone to come, the work was done very well and in a professional manner. Tim, who did the work over two days, was excellent. He is probably the reason we will call this vendor again in the future. We had scheduling issues that were frustrating. Two other repairpeople came hours late and too late to start any jobs. Despite arrangements for them to return another day Tim ended up coming and doing a great job.Evidently they are pretty busy and as my attempts to line up alternative repair people were greeted with missed appointments some scheduling frustration might come with the territory. All in all I do recommend this vendor and will call them again. Hopefully I'll be better prepared to accept delays and scheduling issues.

Recent Review: It went great! The crew showed up on time every day they were here, and they were very accommodating of our concerns about our very large dog. They worked efficiently, and did quality work beyond our expectations. The crew observed problems we had not been aware of on the first estimate, and when we asked to have this work included, extending the job, they stayed at it until everything was done. The final products, both interior and exterior, look great, and we are happy to have this work done before another winter sets in.

FBOB RYDER PAINTING
Bob Ryder was engaged initially to paint the exterior of our house, with all the preliminary work of power washing, scraping, sanding any loose paint, etc, as well as any needed shake replacement, some trim carpentry work, as well as two storm door installations. Painting, and its prep work were never started.   Some exterior shakes were replaced, however one shake is cracked, and there remains too wide a gap on some of the corners in the front of the house.  No one ever came back to fix them. Needless to say, they were never painted.   Our Lawson storm door was removed in the process of replacing the trim around it.  Besides the fact that the door was not reattached to fit perfectly flush as it had done originally, and does not close evenly anymore. a portion of the outside vinyl bottom trim was torn, leaving a hole under the door, and concrete crack, which no one returned to remedy.   We had Bob Ryder specifically measure for two Anderson storm doors so that it would be exact, and when an attempt was made to install the door I was advised by Bob that it was the wrong size, and too small to fit the opening. Bob returned it to Home Depot, and he was told that it was his mistake in measuring the door itself, instead of the opening space size.  The doors were not returnable.  His carpenter had great difficulty, and Bob said that the carpenter could not read the installation instructions.     When the second Anderson storm door was being installed, which was also was too small, and an unsightly filler with some holes it it was placed  on either sides of the door.  The adjustment that the carpenter made to the framing resulted in insufficient space for the door handle to pass through in order to close.  He proceeded to hammer at the frame, and then hacked a jagged hole into it so the door might close, although it still caught a bit.  When I expressed concern, he said he would bring a file the next day and smooth it a bit so "we would not cut our fingers."  It's unbelievable that any responsible carpenter would do such exceptionally poor, and totally unacceptable work that actually damaged a new frame, This door installation was never completed, and is left in a deplorable state.   We were repeated assured that they would be returning to power wash the house so they could begin painting.  The power washer had been left in our garage, and we were told they would be using it for us the following week, however, they never did, and we were surprised when instead Bob removed it on May 31st. We have not seen him since that date.   I phoned Bob to let him know that the replacement storm door screen that they damaged had come in from Home Depot, and he said he would pick it up.  I made a second phone call a week later to tell him Home Depot had called again.  He never responded to my voice mail, and never picked up the screen.   We have made repeated phone calls to Bob Ryder's cell phone, and left messages expressing concern, and requesting call backs.  My last message was on his home phone on June 17th, but Bob Ryder has not given us the courtesy of a return call, and we are left with damage, incomplete door installation, repairs that need to be addressed, and a house that has not been painted.   It would appear the Bob Ryder has broken his contract by leaving this unfinished job, not even starting the painting process, and not returning any of our phone calls.

It went well. Brian came out on 7/23 and looked at the damage. He had a tablet and input what needed to be done as he looked at everything, then went home and emailed me an estimate of $2895. Another contractor had come in with a lower bid, but I was more impressed with Brian's professionalism. The other contractor also did not provide a contract (he said he would write one up if I wanted - it seems like a given that a customer would want a contract, and it made me nervous that I would have to ask for one). Brian said he could do the work in August. Brian and three workers started work on 8/21. They found more damage to the walls and beams than had previously been seen, and I gave the OK to do whatever was necessary to fix the problem. Brian was here off and on, but the three workers seemed very capable on their own, and I think they did a good job. They were here from 8am-4pm on 8/21 and 8/22, then one worker came back on 8/23 to finish painting everything. On 8/24, the three workers came back to put my deck furniture and BBQ back on my deck. I received an amended invoice and the total was $4300. I was surprised that the price had increased that much, but the work done was good - and hopefully there will be no more leaks from my deck. I did receive a 10% senior discount on that amount.
