BCannon Pools
The sales representative Jeff was very knowledgeable and informative, from the beginning he gave us many options and was very patient with all the changes and different choices that we had to choose from. When it was time to install the pool all of the contractors were very professional and willing to answer any questions we had. The biggest complaint was there was very little communication from the contractors to Cannon pools and from Cannon pools to us. Make sure that you call Cannon on a regular basis to find out the schedule and when things are going too get done. The only other recommendation was make sure to get all cost laid out there are a lot of hidden inspector fees and other areas that were not explain during initial consultation. Overall it was a good experience, every time I had a question all of the Cannon staff was very polite and called me back within a reasonable time.

Sales person was great, very informative. We were informed the install would be about 4-5 weeks, they called after 2 weeks to set up an appointment. Pool went in with no problems... until we got in. My wife noticed a very sharp stone sticking straight up in the bottom of the pool. This is from pool grading and not enough sand base. I contacted the main store and they said they would send someone out to assess... The guy came a week later (no notice) and told my wife to take a rubber mallet into the pool to hit it in. We did not attempt this! Two weeks later, I receive a call asking if I still have the problem, when I told him what was stated to my wife... he tells me "I wouldn't do that. You could tear the liner." He then tells me that I will have to drain the pool and they will correct it. I asked him who pays for the refilling of the pool, and he tells me he will have to call me back. That was two weeks ago. Great pool, but unable to correct their mistakes!

The pool was paid for in full prior to the start of construction, which was our mistake.  We had absolutely no leverage on the company after they had all their money.  They came out as scheduled for the first two days and then we didn't see the installers for 6 days.  They showed up "fairly" regularly  after that, but not every day.  When we were contacted by Tarson's concrete guy, we were informed that what we paid for did not include a gravel base for the concrete.  That was at our own expense.  So even though we paid for the concrete through Tarson, we didn't pay to have it done correctly.  The installers, when back filling their work did not get off their machine, so anywhere that required manual backfill was not complete.  I paid their installers to do the electrical work for the pool, but it did not pass inspection.  Even though notified of this by the inspector, their electrician has not been back out to finish the work and make it right.  Their warranty is short.  The second full summer we've had the pool, the liner has come out of the track in several locations.  When contacted, Tarson states that this is not covered under warranty anymore and would cost us at least $100 to have a  tech come to the house and fix it.

The entire process was horrifying! The gave us a installation date, never showed up then 5 days later dropped off the supplies at 4 pm and left. The next day 3 men showed up with shovels to put up my pool. 12 hours later and a carton of cigarettes they left . The next morning the liner was shredded, my yard was flooded and the pool was completely un - level. They came back out placed a new liner and "leveled" the pool. the water level once filled was 3-4 inches difference from one side to the other. We called to complain and they treated us like we were crazy. They then had the nerve to ask for their payment! Finally in August they came back tore the pool down and rebuilt it. Oh and the "free" winter cover they give fell apart in Feb and my pool is a mess right now. Save yourselves call someone else!

AROYAL FIBERGLASS POOLS OF NY
We did a LOT of shopping before choosing a pool and contractor. We decided that fiberglass was the only way to go, and chose Jay's company based on other positive feedback we'd read on the internet. We're glad we did. From start to finish we have nothing but the best things to say about this company and our experience. Jay and his wife Marilyn both came out to do the site inspection. We were impressed with their unhurried approach as they reviewed the job with us. They asked a lot of questions and presented a lot of information to make sure they understood our needs and that we knew exactly what we were getting. I know others who have run into unexpected surprises over the course of a pool installation. That's not going to happen with Jay. Jay and his company have been in this field for a long time and it shows. The finished installation is GORGEOUS and service after the sale has been outstanding. If you'd like more info feel free to e-mail at bobandkarenny@yahoo.com.

AIndigo Swimming Pools & Spas Inc
This ended up being a wonderful experience for my husband and I.  Our primary residence is in Upstate New York and we wanted to install a pool at our home on the Island. We dealt with a few different companies to discuss our desires, seeking their expertise in design, etc. This entailed that they to go to our property to prepare and offer a design, communicating with us over the internet and telephone.  During this period we delved into their backgrounds through a variety of public sources such as Angie's List and also checked with local sources.  While others fell short, we found Indigo to be responsive in every way and the presentation of design and knowledge of the salesperson substantially better than any of the others.  We flew down in early November to finalize the deal.  They spent over 2 hours with us, helping to pick out colors, tiles, add-ons, all the time discussing the pros and cons of each.  Once this was completed we were even shown a 3D computer imagine of just what this would look like when finished.  They were steadfast in the construction schedule of 6 to 8 weeks - after the permit was obtained from the municipality and we were steadfast in our need to have complete by mid-February, our the mid-winter break.  We also wanted weekly updates with pictures as work progressed from stage to stage.  We were so pleased with the progress, the communication and the professionalism of these folks.  We flew down once during the construction phase and were pleased to see that the construction was kept neat and orderly (a pet peeve of mine as I am a developer of affordable housing) and that the worker's were friendly and professional.  Within 2 weeks of projected completion, Pat, the owner called and followed up with an email of the remaining timeline for completion, allowing us the opportunity to schedule a visit for the final inspection of the work.  He gave us a brief overview of the system as our trip was short and scheduled us for 'pool school' upon our return in February where they will spend at least another 2 hours going over the system in depth and its use of all the features. During our absence, the company will also be maintaining and looking upon the operation of the pool for a very reasonable cost.  In short, this locally owned company was absolutely terrific to deal with and we found them to not only be responsive and professional but to be trustworthy and true to their word.  So refreshing to see.  Thank you to all of the folks at Indigo Swimming Pools and Spas.

FJordan Construction
We contracted with the pool company back in June and they assigned Paul Jordan to do the installation. Mr. Jordan does pools for many different companies and initially inspired confidence with his years of experience. Unfortunately, those years didn't seem to teach him decent business practices. We were assured that the pool installation would take 2 days. It took 4 days, with my wife and I taking off time from work to assure the job was done properly. We were told they would allow 2-3 weeks for the ground to settle and come back to pour the concrete. We had to call them after 3 weeks, which prompted them to come the following week. During the whole process, we only saw Mr. Jordan at the site 3 times - the first consult visit, the first day they broke ground (which he himself ran over my patio with the back hoe causing damage to it. later, he wouldn't admit to it and tried to brush it off in a phone conversation), and the consult for the concrete. Otherwise, it was all on the phone. His crew was friendly, but not very good at the business end. There was little communication as to the process and we were left in the dark as to the next steps on many occasions. At Mr. Jordan's suggestion, we paid extra to tie in our gutter downspouts and sump pump drain line in with the waste water line from the pool. what we found out later was that the pressure from back washing the pool filter caused all the water to run out of the gutter downspouts and drainage strip on the concrete. I ultimately had to disconnect the waste water line from the drain system and run a separate line myself. We also found out that they had crushed our sump pump line, breaking it in two places where it exited the house which I had to fix myself. We agreed to an extra concrete pad around the head of the pool. His initial estimate - made by him pacing out the area with his feet - was $1200 to $1500, claiming $5 a sq.ft. over what we already paid for with the pool. We added 48sqft to the stake out and told the crew when they arrived. When we got the bill, it was for $3300. There was gross errors in the estimate, yet Mr. Jordan never talked to us directly - using his crew to deal with the issue. he had them measure the pad on 2 occasions, and would only talk to us when his crew would call him and put us on the phone. Overall, the job was average at best. the edges of the concrete were not finished. The liner has creases in it. The drainage system was a total failure causing me to have to do the job myself. They did damage to our patio and sump pump line causing me to do the repairs. The job site was trashed with bottles, food containers, and cigarette buts everywhere. They took roughly 40ft of hose (worth $200) that was given to us by the pool company. They left the pool horribly filthy when the job was completed. And ultimately Mr. Jordan tried to over charge me $1000.
