Recent Review: He was outstanding and beyond all of our expectations. His workmanship, design skills, honesty, work ethic and punctuality were amazing. If he finished a task, he didn't sit down and wait for us to give him instructions. If he couldn't figure out what we wanted to do next, he came and asked for direction. He offered intelligent and very helpful ideas in each project. He calculated his hours carefully. He was always here when he said he would be. He worked steadily and quickly. His variety of skills was a real plus. I have recommended him to many acquaintances and have had no negative feed back about him. I will hire him again and again. One of the most surprising facts about Jacinto is that his labor rate was the most reasonable of anyone we talked to. Usually you get what you pay for. With Jacinto you get FAR MORE than you would normally expect at his labor rate.

Recent Review: It took a long time. That was frustrating. But, there was a lot of work to do. Over the course of the work, they pulled out massive amounts of demolition debris, carpet, and rock. There were long periods of time when it was hard to imagine that it would ever be done. But, it continually moved forward, and every week the progress was visible, and more often than not, amazing. It was not possible for me to completely envision the end product, and I worried about it a lot. The stairs project turned out to be the hardest, since code regulations ended up forcing them to be much larger than we at first believed. Note that prior to Justin making his initial estimate, two other contractors had already estimated what would need to be done here, and they both underestimated the final size even more. This involved a lot of revision of the project, and did increase the cost, due to unexpected rerouting of plumbing and gas, and ultimately, caused me to make the decision to redo the floors. Despite the unexpected pain of these changes, Justin helped us through, and performed the changes admirably, and ended up with a final product that now feels like we lost nothing in the process, but gained beautiful improvements. Through it all, Justin and his partner Tim we professional, courteous, communicative, and in many ways went our of their way to improve upon the initial plans that I had made. Where another person might have simply cut the easy corners, Justin saw to it that the job was done better than planned. This included demolition and removal of unexpected and quot;outcropsand quot; of granite and basalt that previous builders had simply built around. Furthermore, one of the most impressive things that I saw Justin do was pull in other subcontractors that were highly qualified and professional as well. In this, Justin was like my own personal Angie's List, because he saw to it that the other work done, from the plumbing/electrical, the flooring, and even the repairing/resetting of the carpet after all the other work was done, was the highest quality. It was clear that Justin's skills are extensive, but he will not hesitate to have work that is not in his area performed by the best available people. I cannot understate this seemingly small effort too much -- how many times have you had work done by someone who was less than skilled in a particular part of that work, and yet did it themselves and turned in a substandard job anyway, rather than either tell you that they could not, or get someone who was capable to do it. What Justin did was to see to it that every aspect of the work was done the best it could be, by pulling in the best possible people for the job, which for the main work of course included himself. Justin also took initiative in much of the remodel process, added improvements that I never even considered. From the countertop in the kitchen, to the improvements to the bathroom design, up to his last day on the job, when he handcrafted a complex and continuous stair railing, he took the extra steps to make the end result better. When they were done, they cleared up the place so that areas that only a week before were massive piles of debris to areas that left little evidence that they had been there. We are very happy with the new bathroom, and everything in it has turned out as good or in several instances better than we could have hoped. The new staircase is beautiful, and the new oak wood floor is outstanding.

We are shocked that in a small town someone who has their own business would just take our deposit and not complete the job as agreed. We have a written contract. Although Mr. Chavez has moved to another county (we are close to the county line) he continues to work in our town soliciting jobs and installing fencing. We did nothing to upset him. We did not see him after we gave him the deposit and he has never returned to our property. The only contact was by email. We simply asked him to complete the job as agreed. Use extreme caution if you consider using this company/individual to do work for you.

Earl Baca just left our house at 12:45 p.m. today. We made arrangements for him to come to our home today  to give us an estimate on repairing our back yard fence. He had scratched a note on a pad but scratched today's date out and wrote down Wednesday instead. I called him at 9:00 a.m. this morning and asked him to call me back. He never called back. I called him again  at 11:00 a.m., he answered and said that he would be at our home in 45 minutes. He arrived 1 hour and 15 minutes later. He walked into our home and my wife asked him what happened with our appointment. He immediately started yelling at us and said that if we didn't like it he would leave. He then barged out of the house still yelling as he went back to his truck. As he pulled away he yelled "Good luck p*****, vieja, loca"  at my wife, which in English means F.U. crazy woman. I am 68 years old and have never had anyone insult my wife so badly as long as we have been together. I realize that he has an excellent rating on Angie's List but this man does not deserve to be in business. No amount of apologizing can ever repair the damage he has done to my wife. I realize that it will never happen but I sincerely wish he would be removed from Angie's List. I've given many companies and their employees excellent reviews and this is the first time I've had to write such a severe review. I am angry almost beyond words over this incident and hope that no one ever has to suffer the same from this man.
