* First , I apologize for taking this length of time to answer . I hope it is received in time to be helpful . I always find it disappointing to learn that someone hired for a job is satisfied to just do the absolutely barest minimum required . E.G., after ripping out gate from stucco fence ,no effort made at any kind of patchwork . So we were left with large gaping holes to admire. When painting walls , trim , etc., some paint is bound to inadvertently smear where it doesn't belong . We ended up with many such places. Uncleaned. Since the reason we bought this house was to care for my Mother at a place roughly equidistant between her Doctors and our home , some things were unnoticed while she was alive . But , apparently there was a need to follow them step by step to make sure that the obvious ( clean up your mess ,pick up your cigarette butts, wipe off unwanted paint, patch up holes you made or saw- at Least, for God's sake, ASK ABOUT IT !!! ) Oh, wait ! I forgot ! Silly me. Cleaning up your lunch mess and cig butts was not specified in writing in the work order/ contract ! You liked that ?--- You'll LOVE this . About a week after they finished, the garbage disposal starts these awful noises and leaking water all under the sink. I called and asked would they take it out and stop the leaking. and quot;Sure and quot; . Finally, success after three trips. I could have (and would have ), only I expected something more and quot;Professional and quot;. I got a bill for another $200. , for about 30 minutes actual work . A few days later , I found the garbage disposal in the GARAGE ! Addendum - 12/29/2013 ---- I do not recall whether anyone phoned to check on our satisfaction . I do know that no one in a supervisory capacity came to assess their employees' quality of work . All this does not add up to and quot; repeat business and quot; . ( The contract was drawn up by and quot;ourand quot; and quot; Seller's and Buyer's Realtor and quot; - long known to my Mother - and Elkins) . Yes, I should have been more cautious . I hope You will be . Often , it can be little things -courtesies / extras / an attitude of caring - that bring someone to mind for repeat business . Thank You , Michael
