Recent Review: The home inspection called for service and repair of the furnace and check for heat exchanger cracks. The technician showed up on time and did a thorough inspection of the entire system. The furnace was truly beyond repair. He gave a thorough explanation of the problems, and a detailed estimate of the work to be done, including details of the replacement unit and its warranty information. The work was done on schedule with no additional fees. The workers were courteous and professional. All in all, an excellent experience! I will recommend this company again without hesitation.

Recent Review: Evidently they had never installed a new Carrier Heat Exchange unit. They hooked up the wrong thermostat control unit; they had too large a hole for the ductwork and put tape on the hole which did not fix the problem; they left wires unconnected outside at the unit so the air conditioning did not work. The heat strips are not large enough. They did not put the 200 amp service to the unit. (only 100 amps) I have 200 amps from the transformer to the box outside of the house. I have called Sears (from whom I bought the unit) and so far they have not completed their promise to get this unit fixed properly.  I have Nestelroot Heating and Air Conditioning on call and Sears approved them fixing the air conditioning.  I am now waiting for the job to be finished.  Sears has not replied to four  phone calls and a letter sent registered, return receipt requested. They received my letter 10/12/12 at 6:32 am.

Recent Review: Richard an Estimator for Robbins came out was got under the house, on top of the roof looked over everything sat down and figured up a couple of different options to quote and have us choose from. He was very thorough and considerate of our home and used disposable shoe covers to keep from marking up anything. He spent about 3 hrs figuring everything up to get us the best price possible and what fit our needs. Unlike the other two companies who 1 gave me a quote with $ attached but no information as to what I was buying when I asked for more information and other more efficient option equipment they never called back or emailed a reply. Another concern I had with RA B is they were telling me my duct work under the house had to be replaced as it was duct board and by law they had to do it. Made sense until I learned that if the duct board was going to be disturbed it did not have to be replaced. it was also in very good shape not sure if they were pulling a fast one. the other company estimator came out and he was a very courteous rep but I was not impressed with his guess work on the size of unit I needed etc.. he promised a quote by Monday this was Friday and I did not hear back from him until Wednesday and he had been sick he said and by that time we had made our decision to go with Robbins Heating and Air as they were heads and tails above the other two. I week later they came and started installing the furnace and evaporator coil in the house, they cut in a new fresh air duct for the furnace and they had the furnace up and running by the end of the day. The Installer came back the next day and finished cutting in an additional duct and repairing a couple of existing ones. I was very pleased with the Tech's efficiency and workmanship Top Notch for sure. We have not had the condensor installed yet even though it is bought and paid for. Robbins is holding it until we get ready to add the outside electrical required for it. The warranty on that particular part will not start until we install it and they were great about keeping it at their shop.

AHerrera Plumbing Heating & A C
We had one furnace that was tripping the high temp limit switch. They said that the heat exchanger was full of soot which was causing the flame to burn back which caused too much heat by burners which would cause the limit switch to trip. They said that they could remove the heat exchanger and clean it but the labor cost would be comparable to installing a new unit. We c hose the new install. The second furnace would go through ignition cycle 3-4 times before igniting and would at times go into ignition lockout. They found that the burner was rusted. They cleaned the burner so that it would work until they could order a new burner and install it. The furnace worked perfectly after that and they have since  installed the new burner. Prior to calling  Herrera Plumbing and Heating we had tried 3 other plumbers that had failed to fix the problem. Herrera's was the only company that used an electrical tester to check sensors and used another tester (don't know what it is called) to check gas pressure. All the other companies looked at the furnaces and seemed to guess. This impressed me and assured me I was not going to replace parts that didn't need to be replaced. We found out that the person that had installed the furnaces before didn't install them according to code which had caused all the problems with 2 furnaces so we had them bring all our furnaces up to code and check all gas pressures(we are at 6500 ft elevation so gas pressure it very important). They preformed more work than first estimated and the final bill was $300 less than the estimate. We are very pleased.

The Tech showed up on time and was very thorough and from my description of concerns I had from the last seasons experience and soot on the stack. He immediately recognized that I had a possible cracked heat exchanger which he verified with a camera and said he would not even fire up the unit. he was also very good about getting under the house and looking at ducts and figuring out what he needed to tell his estimator. Estimator gave me quote in a day or so. I did start reading up on furnaces and decided to get a second and third opinion and quotes to compare apples to apples. unfortuantely as I learned more and wanted to get a better option for efficiency they just quit responding to my emails and phone calls. They did not charge me for the service call which was very decent of them. I really wanted to do business with them but just could not get answers and I was not willing to risk that much investment and not be satisfied with the service.
