Our 17 year old Coleman hot tub began leaking water. We use it 3-5 times a week and dreaded the idea of having to but a new spa as we will be moving in a year or two. We tried bottles of leak sealant with no effect. Pool and Spa Doctor took the spa apart and found a crack in the unit below the filter housing, a very difficult to access spot. They had to reseach the part and eventually found a supplier. They had to make three trips from Santa Fe (34 miles) to disassemble, reassemble and troubleshoot leaks. Bottom line, we still have a functional hot tub at a fraction of the cost of a new one. Other service folks we talked to just tried to sell us a new hot tub. We would go back to them again.

FBACHMANN POOLS & SPAS LLC
Bachmann Pool acquired Benson's Pool and Patio recently. We bought our hot tub from Bensons and purchased hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars of hot tub chemicals and supplies over the last eight years. Two days before we were to close on the sale of our home, the hot tub began malfunctioning. The hot tub was part of the sale and the contract required that it be in working order. We called Bachmann's and begged, pleaded, and cajoled to try to gain a commitment to service the hot tub before our closing date and time. The best they would do is a service call one hour before our close. The charge was $160+ just to show at our door. Tom at Spa Pro (a competitor of Bachmann's) came out on 12 hours notice with a "show up" cost of approximately 25% of Bachmann's; and he had no prior relationship with us and had received none of the "who knows how much" markup on chemicals that we had paid over the years. We will never do business with Bachmann's in the future. Their servicemen had to attend to routine pool maintenance as a priority over a once in eight years emergency request. Terrible customer awareness and responsiveness! Can you imagine if it was winter and the hot tub was in danger of freezing up!?!

Our hot tub heater was not working and the tub was intermittently tripping the circuit breaker. We had sold our home and were closing in less than 24 hours. A working hot tub was a condition of the sale. Tom Davis came out on 12 hours notice and repaired the hot tub in no time. He was a lifesaver. He diagnosed the issue, had the requisite parts (a circulating heater pump), and fixed the problem in no time. His "show up" cost was around 25% of Bachmann Pool and Spa. (Bachmann was not willing to adjust their service schedule to deal with this issue - see my review of Bachmann.) You are also dealing with the owner and worker when you deal with Tom - which I much prefer over a faceless company where the owner is removed from the actual servicing. I'd use Tom again in a heartbeat!

APool and Spa Doctor
My hot tub was not working. Had two other companies come in to take a look who basically said weren't sure what the problem was but they could try this and that bla, bla bla. By the end it would of come out to about $1,000. My neighboor recommended I call Pool and Spa doctor. So I called and set-up an appointment, They were very flexible on my availability time. Arrived on time. Right away identified the problem. Explained in detail what was going on, what had caused the problem and ways to prevent it from happening again. No beating around the bush information made sense (wish they were in auto repair business too). My hot tub was fixed that same day. Contracted them to do regular maintence which has been worth every penny. Very profesional, efficient and affordable. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to avoid losing time and money!

AHot Springs Spas of Albuquerque
We purchased a house with a hot tub and were new to hot tubs. When we tried to get the hot tub to heat up, it would not. Hot Sprngs send a great tech out that showed us how the tub works as well as diagnosed the problem correctly immediately. The repair was reasonable and he even suggested a maintenance item that should be replaced that we would not have known about otherwise. Very happy with Hot Springs and will definitely use them in the future.

CDISCOUNT POOLS SPAS & SUPPLIES
I used this local company because I did not want to deal with out of towners should there be any issues. The price was about 30% higher than I could get online or in a larger city, on the other hand they did deliver. But since their store is understaffed it is difficult to actually talk to anyone without interuption. One person said delivery could be Friday or Monday. Then I was told Friday afternoon. On Friday morning, I received a phone call from the annoyed owner saying they had my tub ready to deliver and where was I? so I rearranged my schedule, met him at the house and from then on it was Keystone cops firedrill. I told him that this was not my first hot tub. But the owner kept insisting on speaking to me as if I were a 2 year old that didn't know anything. Top that with his misdirection of the two helpers, his constant interrupting of the helpers to give them that misdirection and his condescending manner toward me and soon I became extremely irate. In fact, I was so annoyed that I did not argue with them when they put a double 90 degree S bend in the 240 volt cable and called it safe. I later disconnected it, drilled the holes properly, cleaned out the tub, and installed the overflow tubes which had been left hanging inside the electrical compartment. The tub does seem to be working just fine... no thanks to their inexpert installation.

AMr. Electric of San Juan County
Everything went well as usual. We've been using the company for years, and it always provides good service for reasonable prices. They're pretty responsive to our phone calls as well.

AALL ABOUT SPAS AND LEISURE LIVING
I bought both a hot tub and Tempurpedic bed from this company. I am very happy with them and the people at the store were very helpful. I didn't expect such a nice store to be in Roswell but I am glad it is.

FHaley & Son Hot Tub Movers
Never hired them. Very unprofessional on the phone, one of those "Hello?" when you call, and ends out being someone's fly by night moving service ran off of their cell phone. After asking if I had the right place, I hear "Yeah, I move hot tubs". We discuss what I need for some time, and he tells me that this has to happen at night or on a weekend as this is a side business and he has "a real job". States that I'll need to provide some materials for the move. Asks me to text photos and such, and never heard back again. Ended up contacting the delivery company and they charged me $125 to move the tub and supplied everything, as they should. Not sure if this person has family reviewing him elsewhere. You can see what you are getting into on their website. [*** Link removed ***]

FAlbuquerque Pools & Spas
A couple weeks went by and I had still not seen a new jet, so I called them to see what the problem was. I was assured that the providing company had just dropped the ball and I would have my new jet shortly. Another week went by, still no jet so I called again. Same story. This went on for a few weeks and I was fed the same line every time. Eventually, they stopped answering my calls. I have left numerous messages and have yet to receive a call back. I have complained to the BBB and the attorney general and both said that the company did not respond. I will be filing a small claims court case within the next 2 weeks. My Spa has been rendered useless because not only did they not deliver the new part that I already paid for, but they also took my old part with them so I have no way of even trying to find the right part on my own or through another company. Not only can I not use my hot tub, but I can't even get it fixed! I will be suing them for a used hot tub of equal value. I spent over $500. to get my hot tub up and running & I don't think it's too much to expect to have that be the case for the price I paid.....regardless of what it costs the company who rendered my spa useless and cost me the use of it for the past 3 months. Not to mention however long it will take for litigation. At this point, I'm not even sure the jet needed replacing. I would be happy with my money back for the jet plus the old jet to settle this matter, but I presume that will not happen due to the company's unwillingness to even answer my calls or respond to my complaints. If I could get my old jet back and it was, in fact, faulty, at least I would be able to show it to a supplier and/or get a part number off of it to order a new one. Otherwise, I am completely helpless.

Recent Review: Overall service went very well. Service person came out as scheduled and installed a new heater. He also recommended that we replace two out of three filters and get a critter guard for the bottom of the tub.
Recent Review: The Spa Doctor took care of it all while I was out of town. Two other people looked at it and knew it was not something simple. He figured it out and it is fixed. Excellent service and customer service from him. His phone people do not know spas or hot tub issues so make sure you speak with him directly to figure out. I will always use the Spa Doctor in Santa Fe.
