Not much to the story...called David, made appointment, he came out, prepared estimate and discussed scope of work, he and his crew arrived on the day and time that they were scheduled, got in and got the job done, came back in 2 weeks to stain and seal the concrete, job done! Seriously, the quality is awesome! I have seen some crummy texture and stain jobs, these guys know what they are doing. It's impossible to do a tear out and re-pour without disturbing the existing landscaping, but his crew did a great job of minimizing the damage and cleaning up the normal "mess" that goes along with a pour. Great communicator...no surprises. Iwill hire him again if I need any additional work, it was a very smooth transaction.

AWhelchel Landscaping & Construction
Price was average. Work was well done, and speedy. They came to Los Alamos to do the work, this is a BIG plus since most contractors act like going to Los Alamos is like going to the end of the planet. Clean up and close out was professional. I would recommend this contractor. It took several phone calls to schedule the work and get started, but once we started everything went like clockwork.

AMILLER CONCRETE SVC
Tim Miller is a very professional guy, and a master with a backhoe! He and his you g son and son-in-law did the job together and worked well as a team. I admit, I didn't even get anyone else to do an estimate, as I had heard what a good job they do from a neighbor. Tim is part of the Mennonite community near Belen, and, to make a broad, stereotyped remark, "They are such hard workers, and they don't rip you off!". My only hesitation about this job is how much it costs. But, I feel that Tim did not overcharge me,and worked with me to reduce the cost by substituting crusher fines foe part of the proposed concrete pad for parking the car at the foot of the ramp. I trust he will do a beautiful job on the retaini g wall, as he seems to have a pretty design in mind, as sketched out in the dirt! I feel that the cost is justified, given the big equipment involved, and how really skilled Tim and his team are. I heartily recommend Tim Miller Concrete!
Recent Review: I found Whelchel and Gleason on Angie’s List, and they were one of several businesses that did estimates for me. My interactions with their staff were all very positive from the beginning. They listened to what I wanted, made helpful suggestions, answered my never-ending questions, and gave me time to think before making final decisions. A very pleasing design was drawn. The clincher for me in selecting this business was because Bill Whelchel's policy was to get a city permit when required, and the city did require a permit to raise the cement block wall. Getting the permit was a monumental effort working with both the city and the structural engineer, but Bill persevered, and he was successful. His demonstration of integrity throughout that situation and several others before any work was even started gave me confidence that this job was going to go well. The crew was amazing. They were all punctual, courteous, friendly, and one of the hardest working group of men I have ever seen. They worked together well, each one always willing to help another when needed. They genuinely seemed to enjoy one another's company. No job was beneath any of them. Each part of each job was done skillfully, thoroughly, and carefully, as if they were doing it for themselves. They cleaned up well, especially at the end of the project. They obviously had a great deal of experience in all aspects related to this job and took well-deserved pride in their work. My goal in engaging any company is to have the job done well and properly the first time. Whelchel and Gleason was not the least expensive estimate I received, but I chose them because I was confident they would do the job I wanted. I could not have been more pleased! I highly recommend their business.
