FMIRA LOMA CONSTRUCTION
It took over a month to complete. Used his high school son to help lay tile, it is now coming up, grout is cracking, used plywood for my bookcase instead of nice wood. Had to bail out his helper drunk.

AVICTOR AGUILAR FLOORING
Victor arrived on time, worked faster than I have ever seen a tile setter work, and I used to be in the tile business. He did a complete, professional, square, straight, and level tile job. I was very impressed and would vouch for his work to anyone. His prices were lower than anyone else who estimated the job. I was nervous being a former tile setter myself, but wow, what a great job.

All the flooring was put down in a professional manner.  Max does excellent flooring work.  The carpet and tile look great.  He is sometimes hard to get ahold of, but once he accepted the job, he and his employees were very punctual.  Window looks great.  Sheetrock work was not perfect, but not awful.  Had one issue with grout cracking, but he sent his guys back in to scrape out all of the grout.  They then regrouted.  Ceilings look good as well.

It was a 3 day process of day number 1 removing all of the old tile and then starting to replace it with my new tile.  Day number 2 was installing the rest of the tile and day 3 grouting.  It was done in a friendly and professional way.  I have had them do tile work before and was very happy with them.  I would call them again if I needed anything.  Always on time, hard working and wanting to get the job done right.  Always neat and tidy.  Thank you for the great job.  I love it.

WOW WOW - great service - very attentive - spent extra time to get the job done right - bowled over by his work ethic - extremely pleased. walk in shower and bathroom floor - applied cement backboard to shower area and placed the same over wood subflooring, applied large vertical modern ceramic tile to shower area and saltillo tile and handmade mexican tile in a basket weave design - it looks amazing especially when black grouting was added.  When I move to another house here I'd use his services again.

FSanta Fe Discount Tile & Carpet
The recommended employee installer did not properly prepare the floors so one year later, they move when stepped upon resulting in cracked and lose tiles with disentigrating grout. The showers were not properly executed, so unless we silicone them frequently, it rains from a downstairs light fixture resulting in water damage to our home. The owner, Marcelo, came with his new installer to inspect the damage, popping up two tiles in the process (and not replacing them), giving us an estimate to REPAIR THEIR PREVIOUS WORK TO ONLY PART OF THE FLOORS FOR $6,000, after already paying them $$,$$$ to originally do the work. My only recourse is through the courts. You have another option; find someplace willing to stand by their work!!!

A5 Stones Carpet Cleaning
Richard showed up promptly on time with 2 cleaning crews. When he arrived and looked over the carpets he also mentioned he did tile and grout (no hard pressure sales). I thought about it and since the entire first floor is tile and had paint/varnish stains I asked him to clean it. He then quoted me a price for everything which was an amazing deal. Most amazing was the end result. The carpet looked brand new, the floors were nicely cleaned and the house smelled fresh with no lingering odors. The work was done in under 3 hours and they left the house sparkling clean. I really appreciated the follow up call a few days later to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. This company is really great and I highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed. Thank You, Richard of Five Stones, for you courteous, polite, prompt and professional services. And great cleaning!!!!!!

ATiles Unlimited & Remodeling
Building a house is an extremely frustrating experience. Finding good trades to accomplish the work well and on time is one of the hardest parts we underwent. I spoke to five different tile companies in search of a qualified team to lay large (20x20) tiles on a diagonal throughout the whole house with no baseboard trim. I was astonished by how many of them could not or would not do the job. I was told repeatedly that I "had to have baseboard" because there was no way to tile to the wall without a thick grout line. Enter James and his team from Tiles Unlimited & Remodeling... His response to my request was: "No problem; we can handle that for you." He offered me pictures, references, and examples of the work I was looking for (diagonal/no baseboard). He was a consummate professional from returning my very first phone call, to showing up on time every single day, to fixing any problem he came across without issue or complaint. In fact, we were so pleased with his work that we ended up adding in an accent wall and hired him to paint the whole house as well! His work was so thorough that he ended up fixing drywall issues, which saved us time and money by not having to call by the drywall crew back. Every single person that works on his team is respectful, knowledgeable, and professional. James and his team made sure my husband and I were happy with each completed project. His tile work is exquisite; he pays attention to detail with symmetry and levelness and design. He had creative ideas I hadn't even considered and I was delighted to take his advice. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend Tiles Unlimited & Remodeling for any of the services they offer. Our home came out beautifully thanks to James and his team!

DRoyal Floor Co Inc
This was my very first home improvement project on my  first home, and they knew that I knew nothing.  I was told off "royally" by the owner for upsetting his workers with too many questions.  I did get upset when I realized that when they finished, I'd have another project.  I thought someone should have explained that the baseboards would be located differently spoiling the existing nice paint job.  I left, calmed, and called saying, "I'm not sure how upset I should be, and I think I upset the boys." My husband wanted the  doorway fixed as door was now diffficult to close.  One toilet removed for install was not working and we told we would be bringing a new one and asked, "OK?"  A shrug of the shoulders and "sure" was replied at initial estimate walkthrough and mentioned to the young men installing. The owner ranted on and on that he'd been doing this for 60 years and that I was trying to tell him how doors should close and that he should have charged $160 for installing the new toilet (later in his rant: $260).  I could barely get a word in trying to remind him I knew nothing and asked questions for that reason.  He told me I should have waited until they were done and then asked.  I said he should have told me ahead of time how to behave if there was that expectation.  He even went up and told the boys they didn't have to finish the job. (They did.) I should have hung up on him and just couldn't; he is elderly.  I just feel awful and thought I'd be all proud of this, what was to me, a very big deal: moneywise and my insecurity/lack of confidence/inexperience in home decorating. I guess I know more now and will learn from this experience.  The owner kept referring to common sense with the baseboard issue.  Sorry, I had no idea and felt they should have told me what would happen.  Instead, they became angry with me and finished poorly. I was impressed with how much work was involved, how hard his installers worked, seemed to know what they were doing, & didn't take breaks ( I questioned them about not eating lunch.)   A missing tile in master shower & some caulking in shower were "thrown in" as part of initial deal.  I later asked what they'd charge for some caulking along top of kitchen counter; $30-40 quoted wasn't charged.   They put a slice in middle front tile when helping the door-closing problem; chipped floor tile being installed in master bath; there is a slice in a master bath tile; caulking (?; I didn't understand that either) under baseboards bleeds into grout (Shouldn't my grout lines be clean to the wall?) and bows out on to tile rather than straight down/flush to board.   A female employee at the store had better "people skills"; was not condescending when fielding my questions; and was helpful and encouraging with suggestions about other improvements I wondered about.  She and the others were very nice the many times I showed up wanting to take the tile samples to the house trying to decide which to install.  Thankfully, I am very pleased with the final decision. Misunderstandings?  Lack of communication?  I also wonder about being told they were to finish in one day when they started the job and was told the job would take three days by the owner's son earlier in our dealing.  A worker mentioned a job scheduled for the day after they started mine would get pushed back.  Pressure?   This was the most money I've ever spent on anything other than a car and this recent mortgage and wish my experience would have had a pleasant end.  What about my warranty?  He indicated they did not want to work for me anymore.

FDALLAS CARPET
The company representative arrived on location to measure the rooms and provide a subsequent estimate.  After approximately one week the representative was contacted in regards to the quote at which time he informed us the measurements had been misplaced and no quote had been made.  The representative arrived a day or two later to remeasure and submitted a quote the following day.  At this time it was requested tile samples be shown to us in order to pick material and color to be installed.  After several days of promising the samples were brought in and a material was picked. Several weeks Dallas Carpet contacted us, on a Monday, informing they were ready to install tile the following morning.  Machinery was removed from the rooms to be tiled the night before.  The installer did not arrive to location as promised and the company representative was contacted.  The rep promised the installer to be on location that afternoon.  Again, the installer did not arrive.  The representative was again contacted and he assured the installer would be in to perform the work the following morning, Wednesday, at 6 am.  At 8 am the representative was again contacted as the installer had not arrived at 6 am as promised.  The representative and installer arrived on location at 11 am and the job was begun.  At approximately 1 pm the installer informed us he was out of tile glue and the representative was contacted.  The representative arrived back on location with additional tile glue at approximately 3 pm.  The floor tiling was 99% completed that evening at approximately 9:30 pm.  There were 3 remaining tiles to be laid (odd cuts around fixtures in a corner) and rubber wall/floor trim to be installed.  The installer informed he would arrive on Friday morning to complete. The following Monday morning the representative was contacted as the installer had not arrived or completed the work the previous Friday as stated.  Between Monday and Tuesday there were 3 different times assured of completion, however no one arrived to complete until 4 pm on Tuesday evening.  At approximately 5:30 pm the installer informed us that he had run out of wall trim glue and that he would complete the job (60% completed at this time) the following morning.  This was expressed to the representative to be unacceptable.  The representative arrived back on location that evening, at approximately 6 pm, and installed the remaining pieces of wall trim.  Overall the quality of the work performed was less than expected.  There were multiple areas where tiles were not brought close enough to the wall, and after trim was installed gaps show.  There were also multiple areas in the body of the floor where gaps between tile were present (this was a vinyl type tile with no grout between tiles, and tiles are butted against one another.)

Recent Review: The crew that performed the work came on time, they were very professional and knowledgeable about the products they used and were very accommodating. They spent two days cleaning the grout throughout my house and then re colored and sealed it. They worked very hard to match the original color and did a great job. The tile looks like new. The job was expensive, but less so than another quote I had gotten. The people were very nice to deal with and I was able to take advantage of their senior discount (10%). I would definitely hire them again.
