We have had a renewable yearly contract for oil delivery and service with Burke Heat for over 8 years and have had a great experience with them. My favorite sales guy, Jeff Rundle, has always been incredibly polite and helpful. We have an older system, and Burke has come to repair it numerous times over the years, sometimes in emergency situations, and we have NOT had to wait or pay extra. I've also had technicians give me advice, and one even helped me fix up a duct that needed to be secured. I've also always found Burke to be extremely ethical and understanding. Numerous times when we have had large oil bills, they have allowed us to break them into payments and pay them off over a number of months. We have always negotiated a contract with a ceiling price and they ALWAYS honor their agreement. We have, more than once, gotten very cheap deliveries after the prices have gone up. Granted, they may not have the cheapest prices around -- but their service is impeccable. We just had Burke Heat remove a 550-gallon buried oil tank and install and new 330-gallon one above ground in our basement. They were competitively priced and did an excellent job on both counts. The only hitch was that the removal was delayed a week or so because Burke was having a challenge repairing a special, very expensive truck they own that allows them to suck out the oil remaining in the old buried tank and give you credit for it (i.e. refund money). On the other hand, no other excavating company that I know of offers this service of refunding you for the oil left in the old tank. As mentioned, we already had an oil delivery and service contract with Burke, but compared their install price to another major oil company. Burke came in only a hundred or so dollars higher, but also had a crew to remove the old tank. The other company would have required us to research and hire our own removal. We liked the safety net of having Burke do both jobs and they did not disappoint. 1) The new tank was installed with a first-rate crew that was competent and polite and helpful. Acting in our interest, they advised us to change our plans about where we put the new tank. And I am so glad they did -- it's in a safer and wiser spot. ($2,700) 2) The old tank was taken out in one morning and their foreman, Walter, did a fantastic job of digging it out very tight quarters next to our house and surrounded by landscaping. Kudos! ($2,000) 3) We were refunded $1,292 for the oil left in our old tank.) I am so pleased we have used Burke for our oil furnace needs and would whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone.
