Business Description: We manufacture Advanced Energy Panels (AEPs). AEPs are a retrofit for historic windows or any window people can't afford or don’t wish to replace. AEPs are interior window insulating panels and can be installed in any building –office, home or industrial. AEPs have a higher insulation and air sealing rating and provide greater comfort than most replacement windows, yet they are a fraction of the cost. AEPs are custom made to fit over existing openings, protecting, preserving and improving your existing windows.
Recent Review: The representative, the owner I think, arrived on time and looked at basement sills and told me I already had blown cotton insulation, and showed me how he knows. I told him the energy audit I received used a thermal camera to show me there was no insulation at the top of the walls and above the windows and they gave me a bid of $6000 to insulate my house. The arctic insulation rep was very surprised and said it was good that I got a second opinion. He could blow insulation above the windows for about $300 if I really wanted to, but reassured me that I did have insulation in my walls but it has probably settled a little over time. While I did not have any insulation work done, I would highly recommend arctic insulation & windows llc. It is a reputable company with honest representatives and I would definitely use them in future.
Recent Review: Everything went very well. It was very windy the day they came to do the job. So that the house didn't get too cold, they shut the door to the room that they worked in. They set up their equipment outside, so not to mess up the house. They cleaned up inside and outside before leaving, no mess left behind. I just love my new windows, I was talking so much about how good they were, my son thought I was getting carried away.
Recent Review: 22 windows installed by peoples and they are great. We live next to a busy road and have noticed a difference in the noise from the street. Good quality product, with very nice screens and easy to clean, open and close. We live next to a baseball field so having strong durable windows is great for piece of mind. The saleswoman was also very helpful when we were deciding what to get done.

Recent Review: Had done this about 30 yrs ago with blown in fiberglass but recently was unhappy with some walls in the extreme cold. Econo-Therm came in and used an infrared camera to show me where old insulation had either settled or was never in spots. Crew that installed the new insulation was very professional and rescanned the walls after the insulation was installed to check all cavities were filled. Rather than just blowing in the insulation (cellulose) with a nozzle that swivels at the holes, like was done the first time, they actually snaked a hose up and down the wall to make sure the insulation was dense packed. Rooms are significantly more comfortable now.
Recent Review: Shore Insulation performed in an exceptional manner. They scheduled the work to coordinate with other contractors, performed the work professionally and efficiently, and left the work site in good condition.
Recent Review: My son was very happy with the work on his house and recommended Window & Door Outlet. I had many questions, but Jeff answered all of them completely. They started with the windows and I told them to seal them good, because the wind blows off the water with a vengeance. On the second day, it was windy and they saw what I had told them. When the windows were done, it already started to feel warmer. I had gotten energy efficient windows and doors because the would help me save some money on heating. The siding was done more quickly than I expected. They removed some old siding and then wrapped the whole house in "white plastic", they put up this nice foam insulated vinyl siding. It was another way to stop the cold wind. The last thing they did was the roof and I was pleasantly surprised when they told me I didn't need new wood and the price went down a bit. Overall, they did a great job! The house looks like new, is warmer and "tighter" than it has ever been and is maintenance free.
We had a great result using them. I originally called because of an issue in a room with a bay window - it was very cold in the window, as though they didn't insulate properly underneath. They offered to come in and do the energy audit. Their recommendations were reasonable, and included a fix for the bay window insulation issue. There was no "hard sell". Their estimated savings for implementing the improvements were $1700 / year. We had the option to finance and roll the costs into our PSEG LI bill, or pay up front (and get a small additional discount). I've recommended them to others, who have had similar positive results.

AAlure Home Improvements Inc
Alure is a class act. I consider them the most reasonably priced high-end contractor. Designs are excellent. They are patient and want to please. Did not nickel and dime on on changes. Cleaned up every day. Stayed on schedule. Gave us several gift certs for dinners when the premises were unusable. Their points program generated a free 8-day trip for us!

I left the provider a voicemail on Wednesday at midday and received a call later that evening. The individual, Asif, stated he would send me an e-mail relaying the scope of work and cost estimate as well as put me in touch with the 'handyman' that would be performing the work. I did not receive any e-mails nor call on Thursday. I called back Friday and left a voicemail inquiring as to the status of the e-mail and/or response on a date/time for the performance of work. It is now Monday evening and I have yet to receive a response. And the thing is...I just joined Angie's List and these were the first providers I contacted because of the numerous positive reviews and grade received (except for the review prior to mine).

Dave did a number of projects around my house. What I liked best about Dave was his honesty - if he felt he was not qualified to do a repair he said so. He installed a tool rack in my garage, adjusted my storm windows, insulated my boiler pipes, repaired a stain on my kitchen ceiling, installed a toilet seat, and adjusted cabinet doors. I would use him again in the future.

AHeartland Village Handyman Services
We called Heartland Handyman Services for what we thought was just to paint 2 rooms. Javier showed us there was much more involved. With little to no effort at all, he showed us that the room's window was not seated and secure. The window sill came off with a little tug. Inside the wall were signs of water leaks. In the other room, the floor had been damaged and since it could not bear any weight, we could step through the floor. Heartland had to open up the outside siding, repair the exterior wall, reseal the siding, reseat the windows, insulate the walls, besides the original plan to paint the 2 rooms. He also had to reinforce the outer wall, repair the underflooring and install a new floor.

Workers used my equipment (vacuum, shop-vac, hammers, drop-cloths, saw, screwdrivers and others). The shop-vac and the vacuum were useless after that. There was some heavy dust from work on foundation of home that they cleaned up with my vacuum and shop-vac. I kept coming home to find more and more of my tools being used? Even after telling him no, still going on. He told me he would pay for the shop-vac, but he never did. Instead it was a bartering tool to get someone in to finish the last window (see below). He had to come back three times to finally get last window installed - some 3 months later. And... low and behold that window now doesn't open any more. Crap product, or shoddy work? His initial visit to our home was prolonged by him telling me he did work on Donald Trump's home, long story teller. I should have been flagged right there, but shame on me. HIs initial quote did not give an estimate as to when work would be done. I asked him about that and he said 'you'll have to trust me, I own't screw you.' But he did. The work was verbally quoted to be done in 2-3 weeks. It took over 2 months - 4 months if you invlude that last window. . This was the first time my wife and I hired someone to work on the home. Just like them and others who have given us these same stories... his mother died during construction, his worker got into an auto accident and he himself was rushed to the hospital with a heart problem. I think every construction guy's mother dies on every job; just to extend the work schedule. . He was a professional scammer. . Anyone who would like to come visit my home to see his lousy work is welcome. I wouldn't hire him to cut my rose bush. Not trust worthy and hardly there. Drops the workers off and disappears. . I lived and learned.

CBrooklyn Insulation & Soundproofing, Inc.
I called and left a message stating what I needed and left my contact information. I did not receive a return call for approx. 1 1/2 days. They weren't the right company for a small size window insulation repair job and referred me to another company (can't remember who). I called them and was given the name and number of a third company. At that point, I discontinued. I don't have time to play tag by being given numbers of companies or contractors who "may" or "may not" be able to take care of the job I needed. I wouldn't recommend these people unless you have a large space to insulate. If so, you would be wise to get prices from a few other companies, they seemed very expensive.

Execellent experience every time. Kosta and his crew do great work to near perfection. Always on time and does what he says he is going to do. Never hit me up for unneccesary extras. They work quick and they were clean. He had previously put an 18x18 extension on my house ( about 8 years ago) and the work was fantastic. Summer 2011 he built me a great shed in the back yard. In the fall we decided to finish the 1 st floor of my home. We did two bedrooms, the hall, stairs and living room. All new windows, insulation, sheetrock, paint, molding plus the fireplace was completly redone. They also rebuilt my front stoop becuase it was sinking and falling apart. The total job took about 3 weeks to complete, they were lucky that the weather did not interfere. Kosta set out a fair payment schedule , with payment being made at each pre specifed completion. His price was very resonable for the amount of work he did, and he didn't try to take advantage every time I made a change or addition. Overall I and my wife are very satisifed with his work. We are scheduling a bathroom remodel with him just as soon as we have more money. I would recommend him to anyone who asked.

AJ Morisco Contracting Corp Inc
This was a thinking project. Jim had to figure out how to remove prior contractor's sloppy and inadequate job by removing pieces of trim inside and outside without jeopardizing the large sheet of glass. Not a job that most would take on. Jim did an incredible job. He figured it out, and executed the job in an extremly smart and meticulous manner. His workmanship is impeccable. I plan to hire Jim for future projects and would highly recommend him.

I will keep this short and sweet. This past year, my family and I have so enjoyed our new window, insulation, siding, shutters, gutters and leaders. Major Homes did such a stellar job on our home, we are thrilled every day. We noticed the difference immediately this winter with our new insulation and siding. Drafts were gone and we used less oil this past winter, and it was a cold one. So far this summer, we are also using our central AC less as the house holds the cool air way more efficiently and has no noticable leaks where the cold air can escape. Our old siding was a nightmare, which had no insulation under it in most areas. Also, we enjoy all the compliments we get from our friends and neighbors. we are saving to re-do our master bath next spring and we will absolutley hire Major Homes to help us create our dream bathroom; it is a no-brainer. They are the best.
