Recent Review: Nate did a fantastic job! The soundproof panels were large and heavy and Nate needed to figure out the best way to hang them. He was very proficient and we will definitely hire Nate again for any future needs.

Recent Review: Jeff Hayes is a crook, he needed 1/2 money up front and I gave him $1,000 of the $1650 project cost. He never showed up, continued to give excuses and when he did show it was for one day. He took town sheet rock and hauled most of it off, and left a **** of a mess. Continued to jerked me around for 4-weeks, still never showed. I'm still waiting on a refund check. He is such a lair, crook and 90% of the time he was high! He is a very like able con-artist. jhazemn@gmail.com Be ware........ He has many addresses, so it's hard to track him. 9218 Simonton Drive, Huntersville, NC 28269 704.401-4177 PO Box 155, Davidson, NC 28036 8907 Cinder Lane, Cornelius, NC 28031 He told me Charlotte, and has been known to be living in Salisbury, NC recently.

Recent Review: Just when you think you will never find a business that will actually do what you need, when you need it, along comes Case Handyman and Remodeling. My whole staff is still in shock. From the first telephone contact all the way to the follow-up survey, I have been nothing but impressed. I met with Brad for the initial consultation. He explained the process for determining the feasibility of the project, the payment options, and the way the project would be carried out. The second time we met with Michael (the amazing man in charge of the project) to make sure that every detail had been covered. My cabinets were then ordered and the work was scheduled. The work began and ended on the exact days that I had been told. Michael arrived on time every day, ready to work. Three other men worked on the project at various times during the week. Each of those men also showed excellent work ethic. I am 100% satisfied with the work that Case did for me. What a great experience!

Recent Review: Joe worked with us to make sure we stayed within our budget and was conscientious to keep us informed and involved in the project as it progressed.  He ensured we were satisfied, did what we asked and worked to our schedule. Joe's work is detail oriented, organized, clean and professional. The room is now bright and cheery, a comfortable temperature, even though it is not on the house central air system,  and is functional with storage, a TV sitting area and pool table space.   Thanks, Joe!

Recent Review: All projects were completed in an extremely timely way - no longer than 2-4 days. Charlie planned so that while something needed time to dry before he could move onto the next step, he was ready to take on another part of another project. Whenever Charlie came across something that was anticipated, he discussed the change w/me and was able to make a substitution that was a fine solution and one that took nothing away from the outcome. 1. The closet is exactly as I wanted and exactly as Charlie said it would be. I could not be happier. 2. The window seat is exactly as we discussed and provides the storage space needed for blankets, throws, extra pillows, etc. Again, a better outcome just would not have been possible. 3. The wall provided immediate improvement in the transference of sounds. B/c of the way that the door to the neighboring unit is positioned, I was told that it would be impossible to block out the banging - yes, my neighbors cannot go in or out w/o slamming their door each way, each time. However, it has minimized the banging so that my cat and I are not jumping off of the couch from being startled by a sudden bang as we were previously. I have recommended this solution thru our condo community newsletter b/c we all experience this problem from the shoddy workmanship of these 1985 units. All $ put into these projects were worth every penny. I am considering a second soundproof wall for the bedroom common wall to block out the banging of cabinet doors - yes my neighbors cannot close anything gently - and the sounds of the plumbing that is related to the lack of insulation when first constructed. Charlie has become my go-to man. He advised me about a patio door unit the needs to be replaced. I have ordered it and he will be installing it when it is delivered. Eventually, I need to redo kitchen cabinets and Charlie will be in charge of this reno, as well. If you hire Charlie, I have not one doubt that you will be more than pleased with his workmanship. B/c I was recovering from surgery, I was around as Charlie worked and enjoyed his "company," as well as the renovations he completed for me. I recommend Charlie Payne, the Trim Man, with full confidence. He can be reached at charleslee812@gmail.com or (803) 322-5336.

Recent Review: Last spring, I decided to sell my starter home in Indian Trail to buy an older house in Matthews or SE Charlotte.  I was able to purchase a 1980 mid-century modern home in SE Charlotte that was a foreclosure and had been empty for awhile.  A tree branch had fallen through the roof, and the hole was left uncovered.  Rain came into the house for months, and the living room area was damaged.  The house also had not had an update in a while with many original fixtures still in place.  For some reason, I decided to plow ahead with the purchase and was able to secure a loan that also included a portion for remodeling. I did not know any contractors, so I contacted one without a firm referral.  He didn't call me back for a couple of days, and was 45 minutes late to our appointment at the house.  He basically told me that what I wanted couldn't be done for the amount of money I had to spend on the remodel.  I then talked with a co-worker whose husband owns a granite business and asked if he would provide a recommendation for a contractor.  He gave me Bob Ward's name.  Bob owns RJ Ward Construction here in Charlotte. I called Bob, and he called me back promptly.  When I arrived at the house to meet Bob, he was already there, walking around and looking at it with a contractor's eye.  I decided to ask for everything I wanted knowing I would have to cut out some things because of budget.  Bob walked through everything with me and provided a solution to every request I had. One of the first things I learned about Bob was that he never said no.  He always found a way to solve a problem.  He gave me a ballpark estimate for the job.  I was surprised that just about everything I wanted was able to be done.  I decided on the spot that Bob was the guy to take this on. Bob went above and beyond the call of duty. Although I could list many examples, one example stands out as the highlight.  When the house appraised under our estimate, we had a weekend to scramble and make the budget work.  I made my cuts and emailed them to Bob on a Saturday night expecting him to respond on Monday.  Bob had a revised estimate to me by 10:00 on Sunday morning.  That weekend was Thanksgiving weekend. The guys working for Bob are all professional and very good at what they do.  They are masters of their craft.  I am still amazed when I walk into the kitchen, master bath and living room at how great the tile and hardwood look.  I have "officially" lived in the house for 3 weeks now, and I still can't believe that I get to live here.  All of Bob's subcontractors are also good at what they do, and it was a pleasure working with all of them.  I want to especially thank Gary Hetrick for not only referring me to Bob, but also for doing a fantastic job installing the granite counter tops. On top of all I mentioned above, the project came in on time and within budget.  So to be able to work with someone like Bob who stuck to his timeline and provided quality work was a pleasure.  You hear about the horror stories, but you never hear about the great experiences.  If you work with Bob, you will be the one writing about the great experience.

Maybe I should have been more clear in my expectations but the experience was a lot like the story of Stone Soup, with Larry getting a lot of what he needed to do the job from me. Your experience may vary, and I think he treats everyone differently according to needs. But the price was great and the soundproofing works. So all in all a decent job.
