Recent Review: I had MGT Enterprise to build me a 850 ft gravel driveway, installed 2 drain tiles for the water drainage, cleared off 2 acres and completely graded the land for my house to be built on, and cleared the land for my septic field. They called around and found the most reasonable prices for the job. When the owner gave me an estimate, everything was itemized just as I asked so I could understand what was being spent. MGT Enterprise was very responsive and gave me their professional opinions and described how they would perform all the work when they gave me a quote. Whenever I had questions, they immediately had answers even if I thought they were ridiculous, they never made me feel like I didnt know anything. They were very prompt with job timing and kept me informed through the whole process. They would not leave the job until I came out and they made sure I was 100% satisfied. I would recommend them to anyone who needs any excavation or work in that area.
Recent Review: Pricing and timeline beat all others. He was able to start within 2 weeks which was so exciting to be able to start so quickly. The ground breaking went smoothly for our new home even with all my changes I kept adding. The grading and excavating was simple and smooth process for us a new home builders. We appreciate the kindness and courteousness of Jonathan for working with our ever changing request. Amazing work and would highly recommend.

They've done a great job. Good honest man. He told me what time he was coming out and he actually want me to get inspected before I pay him. He makes sure you're happy with everything and he told me everything he did, why he did it and everything else and explained everything to me.

I have used him for several things. I had my driveway graded after I purchased the home. He brought the gravel and did some grading and had my driveway looking amazing. He also handles all my lawn care and landscaping. He does an excellent job and highly recommend him for any and all. He has also been hired for excavating work on my property. My property always looks amazing!

Very responsive to initial call. Came that day for estimate. Work started the next day and was completed on time. Work required concrete pump and hoses to go through finished basement area - took great care to protect carpet. Cleaned up very well after work complete.

CCaldwell Trucking and Excavating
I believe the excavator is a good, hard worker but he underbid on the job, lost interest, and got lazy at the very end of the project. He very successfully dug out a basement to our new dining room but the backfill has settled and our driveway is now a huge mess. Also, he put in three rows of huge rocks for a terraced garden, and those rocks have started slipping in some places. I figure it is going to cost us $2000 minimum to correct the slope and drainage problems left behind by the excavator's work. I have attempted to contact him but he will not respond.

When I initially contacted Clark Services, I had a smaller excavation in mind. Joshua offered me the best bid of three contractors. I decided to hire him. When I told him that I would really like to excavate more of the property, but I couldn't afford it (based on the other bids), he offered some suggestions to keep the cost down and he gave me a reasonable bid for the full excavation, so I decided to go ahead with that plan. He got started quickly. He was conscientious about preventing dirt / mud from getting on the road. He listened well and responded to any concerns I had throughout the project. He worked long days to get the job done while the weather was good. Before starting the project, I had found someone who wanted to buy fill dirt. Joshua had the dirt delivered to that guy, offsetting the cost of the excavation a little. Overall, it worked out very well; I will definitely consider Clark Services for future projects.

AGibson's Grading And Construction
David replied to our request for an estimate right away. The day that he was scheduled to arrive, he was punctual and gave an honest, straight forward bid for the job we needed done - a breath of fresh air, and quite a change from the no-shows and inflated, over priced bids we had gotten before! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and was experienced in exactly the types of job we needed him to perform. I have no doubt that he could have gotten the job done in a timely and professional manner. Ultimately, we opted to use another company, but only because the cost of materials was lower as their material is sourced from the same mountain we are located on. We would highly recommend David Gibson to anyone looking for an excavator in the greater Asheville area.

AJK Enterprise of WNC, Inc.
I contacted several companies in the days leading up to the project. Very few companies were responsive to my inquiries. Josh was very timely in his responses and came out to view the project within a few days to provide us with a quote. His timeliness and professionalism is what got him the job, not to mention the reasonable quote he provided us ($5,200.) We booked Josh the same day he came out to view the project. We gave him a down payment then and there. The project was expected to take a few days. We told him we would be out of town on a particular weekend. He and his crew came out that weekend and did all of the work while we were gone, which was nice since we didn't have to live in a work zone for several days. Once they completed their work, they reseeded the lawn and covered it with straw--that's the only sign we knew they were even there. We were very skeptical of the work since we were not home when it was done, but when the first heavy rainfall came, we went into the backyard where the drains emptied and found water pouring out of them. So, we knew something was done. We are very pleased with the services they provided, and they came in $400 under their quote, which is always a plus.

AZR landscaping and Grading
I read the bad review, and while I feel sorry for that person, our experience with ZR Landscaping was outstanding. What follows are details of our very positive experience. Zack answered the phone himself on a Sunday and scheduled the estimate visit for the following Wednesday. We knew it would be a very expensive job because we had been told by a neighbor that the driveway and its drainage had been a problem for the previous two homeowners for about 30 years and that they only scraped it to sell the house. After one year, the driveway was in horrible condition. Zack listened carefully to our concerns and gave us his ideas on how to rebuild it. We had gotten another estimate that we thought was a bit high and Zack gave a written estimate that was nearly $1000 less. He got the estimate to us within a day via email. On the estimate, he clearly detailed the materials including delivery (30 tons of ABC gravel, 15 tons of RipRap gravel, 30 tons fill dirt, PVC pipe) labor cost and taxes. By the time we were able to get the work done, the driveway was nearly impassable with huge ruts and gullies. Gravel washed away with every storm. We had to warn visitors about the driveway before they came. We had weather delays (it was early December), but Zack texted me promptly and kept me informed all the way. The work took two full days and required 30 tons more gravel than estimated, but there was no change in the price. Zack showed up early with his crew of four guys. They were all polite, respectful, and worked intensely from the moment they showed up until the end of the full days. The guys seeded and put burlap over the soil alongside the driveway and it has grown in nicely. The cleanup was perfect, and the work looked great. This past spring, we had over 5" of rain in two days, plus many heavy rainstorms. Our driveway is absolutely solid. There has not been the least bit of washing away or drainage issues. The grading was correctly done, drainage installed properly, and it is a joy to come home every day to our lovely driveway. We strongly recommend ZR Landscaping and will use them again.
