Recent Review: They also installed a bathroom vanity for me. The work is flawless and has the "old house" character that I wanted to maintain. The stain is gorgeous. The structure is level and sound. The transition between old and new wood is not visible. And the baseboard looks great. What a bargain. I could not be happier.

Walters Home Improvement
Recent Review: This is for a vacation home and I was planning a trip up for specific dates. I called and left a message. My call was returned the next day and plans were made to meet me upon my arrival in Boone. Then my nephew called and as a surprise, he had done all the work for me before I came up. I immediately called to cancel and explained what happen and was delighted to have a friendly response. Walters was very understanding and offered to assist any time in the future. I know I will have other work in the future and will call Walters for assistance. They were very nice.

RJ Ward Construction
Recent Review: We got three estimates for our kitchen remodel.  We knew Bob Ward was the right contractor when we met him.  He is calm, knowledgeable, experienced, and he listens to what you want. Throughout the project we felt that he was honest, trustworthy and always looking out for our best interest.  We felt very comfortable with everyone on his crew and didn't hesitate to leave a lockbox on the door for them to work when we weren't home.  Bob never got upset about changes as the project went on and was very responsive to our calls and emails. He made some suggestions for our plan and he was spot-on with the right ideas. We worked with one of his cabinet vendors, Mike, at ProSource and that was also a positive experience. Mike had some very good suggestions and it really made a difference in the overall look of the kitchen. We paid for the cabinets and a new stove separately so that's not included in the price I quoted above. We kept the same floorplan and kept the existing flooring. Here is the low-down on the work:  They completely gutted the kitchen down to the studs. They hauled away the old cabinets and countertops, re-wired for new lighting and outlets, repaired and replaced drywall, installed new cabinets, sink, disposal, faucets, granite countertops, installed a new vented range hood, refinished the popcorn ceiling to a smooth ceiling, installed new pot lights, undercabinet lights and chandelier.  They prepped primed and painted the kitchen and all the trim. They took out an old window and installed a new one, as well as a new storm door at the side entrance. They replaced the baseboards, pantry door and laundry room doors. Bob's tile man, Julio, did a wonderful job installing a vertical subway tile backsplash and special order tiles behind the range. There were a couple of small issues with two of the cabinet doors and Bob immediately ordered replacements and his guys came back to replace them. I would definitely recommend RJ Ward Construction to anyone doing any sort of remodeling.  We absolutely love the kitchen, a wonderful transformation from dark and dated to light and modern. We will tackle a bathroom remodel next, and will call Bob to do the work.

He is good. We used him 2 summers ago to install toilets and he was great then, but he was unresponsive this time.

AHandyman Hendricks
We heard great things about Handyman Hendricks from a friend so we called him as we had just moved and our home needed many different things done. The first time that he came out was when he created a kitchen pantry from a small closet. I described what I was thinking and he made exactly what I had been thinking. He also cut shelves that I already had to adapt to a new cable cord and he cut and installed new shelves to our kitchen cabinets to provide extra space in our cupboards. Our master shower was in dire need of repair. He removed and replaced all the caulking while also repairing the baseboard tiles that had come off the wall. We were so pleased with his work that we had him come back a second time asked him to create a walk-in closet with lots of shelves for shoes in an extra bedroom, which turned out beautifully and to paint our master bedroom walls and all the mouldings. He also replaced all the hardware in the room. The third time that he came was to paint our living room and that was a true commentary on his ability because there is a lot of cabinetry that needed extensive taping off. It turned out beautifully! We will definitely call him again for any of our home needs. Very knowledgeable, cleans up everything after job is finished and is very pleasant to be around.

He started work in mid-September and did not finish until mid-December! Three months for a bathroom that measures about 50 sq. ft. The tilework was sloppy and was not aligned properly, he installed mis-matched sink and toilet, the wron shower doors, and left the ductwork for the exhaust fan laying open in the attic, not vented to the outside. He then presented a bill for $4,950, claiming that he did more work than was estimated. I had paid for all the materials and fixtures, so his cost was strictly labor. He agreed to take $150 off for the work he never completed, such as the wall cabinet, shower bar and threshold installations. Overall very poor quality, slow delivery and inaccurate estimates. Look elsewhere for your contractor.
