No time to list all details but I could not have asked for anybody to do it better!  Very professional job & get people to deal with. Showed up within a couple of hours of my call & dealt with insurance company keeping me apprised frequently. I would definitely recommend them to anybody!

The permiting process delayed the start of the project so we were behind schedule from the start. Freddies attention to detail is astounding. His diligence and hard work got the project back on schedule and complete in first class fashion. He stayed two steps ahead of all the workers and processes. He insisted on certain upgrades that I did not care about and they are the point of completments and conversation from people who visit. His finished product does not shout 'big box home improvement store'. His selection of materials makes every job look custom. I am very proud of my investment. His quality far excedes his price. He is a very well kept secret for home improvements in New Bern.

Tile, carpentry, and all work except painting was exceptional.Painters were not exceptional but overall were very good. This project was done in a professional and timely manner.  The best part was that it was done long distance from start to finish without my supervision.  After finished I flew to the project to see how it looked and when I discovered two very small "issues", they were corrected immediately without complaint. I couldn't have asked for a better company with which to work.

FBRIESE CONSTRUCTION
New homes have a structural warranty. Before 6 years my home has a 10" deviation from the highest point to the lowest (it's literally sinking). I have the kitchen ceiling falling down, a major supporting wall buckling, and the foundation is cracked through to the soil. I took the engineers report to Michelle Briese (Alex's wife)...Michelle is also a general contractor, not "just a realtor". I begged to keep it out of court and to simply fix my house. No one ever came to look at it. I had to hire an attorney...I have had to take a 2nd job...$5000 to attorney so far, $2500 to engineer, $1000 for repair estimate. The buckling wall is a fire hazard and cracked foundation will lead to cracked pipes for plumbing. I have 3 kids and no options but to stay in the house and pray that the justice system works.

The work took longer than we had anticipated due issues that came up during the job but we were happy with the results.  I would recommend and actually have to more than one person looking to have work done this summer.

The contractor crew spent about 14 hours on site. It was evident the contractor did not read the installation instructions for any of the installed items. The window and door rough openings were too high or wide by almost 2 inches and had to be shimmed up with 2 by 4s when the time came to install the windows and doors. One door rough opening was so far out of plumb that when the pre-hung door brick molding was installed flush with the exterior sheathing the door would not close properly. No attention was paid to the gap between the door panel and the frame such that the handle latch would not catch the striker plate. They did fix it at my request but now the door frame protrudes less than a half inch past the rough opening at the bottom and almost one and a quarter inches at the top along the striker plate side of the door. The hinged side of the door is similar. I found out later they invoiced me for the materials to fix the door (vinyl brick molding and shims)! After seeing all that I installed the other door myself. One window rough opening had a 3/4 inch difference in length between the header and the sill that caused the jack studs and studs to bow. It was obvious standing 30 feet away!. If I had not said anything they would have left it that way. The crew leader said it was OK because the window could still be installed plumb. I had him fix it anyway. They did not caulk behind the window nailing fin as required by the manufacturer. The exterior stone veneer (Versetta Stone) was installed higher up the wall than I requested and discussed with them. After watching them install the stone veneer on one wall I decided to download and read the installation instructions myself. I discovered the manufacturer's requirement to install a waterproof barrier (not house wrap) on the wall prior to installation. This was not done on the wall they completed. I installed the required barrier on the other wall before they came back to finish the job. The veneer normally has a nailing flange for installation. The ledge piece under the windows required removal of the nailing flanged (allowed by the instructions) but required the use of construction adhesive to hold it in place. I informed the contractor of this and discovered after they left they did not do it. I pulled the ledge pieces out with very little effort. I reinstalled them properly myself using the recommended adhesive.6 out of 16 of the 11 foot long studs (excluding jacks and cripples) were installed plumb (bubble between and not touching the lines) when measured with a six foot Bostich level. This is why the one door was racked in the rough opening. Maybe this is me being picky but I expected better. Overall it was not a good experience although from the outside the finished product looks good.

The owner of the company and two laborers came out to the jobsite to perform the work. Nobody knew what they were doing they put up the siding wrong they did not totally wrap the house wrap around entire house they used to small of pieces that don’t meet code they install the vinyl boxes for the exterior lights and electrical boxes improperly with exposed hot wires . vinyl was not lapsed properly final was not secured to the wall properly they used the nails for the aluminum trim to nail vinyl siding to the Wall J channel was not done properly with rain tabs vinyl siding did not have enough nails in most of the pieces some pieces had absolutely no nails in it. Some J channel was not mailed at all there are over 20 other things that were wrong with the house that I don’t have time to go over they said that they would fix it to my satisfaction they walked off the job with 3/4 of the front of the house exposed to rain and then threaten to put a lien on my house if I didn’t pay them in full

Due to Hurricane Irene we had water damage to 2 bedrooms; not flood damage. Initially, the insurance adjustor thought the water that came into the house came from either the windows not being sealed properly when the house was built (2007 - builder: Jimmy H. J. Morris - would NOT recommend), or from the holes in the siding after 3 1/2 shutters came off during the hurricane. Overall the entire process went great. Originally we thought certain repairs would be done, but after Mike tore out the walls and removed the insulation to the problem area, an even bigger issue was discovered as the cause of damage to both bedrooms - which happened to be a builder (house builder: Jimmy H. J. Morris) error. Mike was able to identify the original problem and fix it which was great. Upon mutual agreement, the repairs were adjusted in order to fix the problem. Less walls were torn out, part of the actual house frame was replaced due to rot and black mold, since apparently water had been getting into the house since it was built (4 years), but was not known until Hurricane Irene pushed an abundant amount of water through to soak the carpet in both bedrooms. Had it not been for the hurricane, we would never had known the frame was rotting in that one area and that black mold had developed. We are so thankful that Mike is an expert in building houses and that he was able to find the root cause and fix it. Mike, his nephew Patrick, their carpenter, and their drywall person is everyone that was involved in the repairs. They all did a wonderful job and I would use them again, and would highly recommend them as well.

Terrible. This company took 8.5K from my 81 year old mother to repair her home. We had a specific list of exactly what they said they would do. In the end they did 2 walls and a ceiling with Sheetrock and paint and then refused to refund the remaining amount. One of their subcontractors was even a convicted felon who ripped them off. Repeated requests for a refund have fallen on deaf ears. We have decided we will need to sue them for the almost 6 thousand they owe.

These home improvements were scheduled over the course of eleven months. Some tasks took considerably longer than the projected time frame. Some delays were weather- related. Others were related to my schedule. And some were simply that all houses are different and mine had some idiosyncrasies that needed workarounds. I have been very pleased with the quality of the final product in every case. Any issue that I found along the way, during construction or months after, was addressed immediately and at no additional cost to me.

Recent Review: Nothing short of blown away by Mitch’s and Alex’s work ethic, professionalism, and quality workmanship. The final product was incredible. Our house thanks you. In addition to stabilizing our foundation over a period of two full workdays (they worked diligently and respectfully), they placed a new moisture barrier throughout our crawlspace. It looked so good afterward, I joked we were going to rent it out as an apartment! Thanks again guys! Exceptional!

Recent Review: From the man that came for the estimate, office workers, and installers, the job was top notch!  The team was totally professional, very courteous and pleasant to work with. They were prompt and did the work in record time...less than two days. They maintained a clean work area. They layed drop cloths from the exterior door all the way to the bathroom work area. They cleaned up completely after all construction / installation work. Very pleased with the beautiful bathroom. Highly recommend.

Recent Review: Ramjack was very flexible with us from start to finish, they allowed us extra time after the quote to save up enough to pay for the job without financing. I was always able to reach someone at the company at any time by phone or email. The crew worked fast, and I was quickly notified and asked permission for any last minute changes. They hauled away carpet from the two rooms where the walls were pressure grouted, since we were planning on installing hardwood floors anyway. They also removed dirt from planters that were full of 30 year old construction debris and loaded the planters with new topsoil. When they were finished, the cracks in our brickwork were much less visible, and our doors inside closed freely. I would use Ramjack again for foundation work.
