QUALITY ASPHALT & SEAL COATING
Recent Review: My house has never had a driveway of any kind as long as I've owned it (20 years).  My neighbors DO have an old asphalt driveway, on my side of the house,  which encroached on my property by a few feet where the driveway meets the street.  My neighbors were going to sell their house, and the boundary encroachment became a problem for my neighbors and any potential buyer.    To resolve any boundary issues that might arise in the sale, I decided to install an asphalt driveway next to my neighbor's driveway, which would allow each side to have their own driveway and would resolve the encroachment issue.  My neighbors thought this was a good idea and wanted to collaborate on the problem, and I  called Chris, the owner of this company, to come out and do a quote.  He came promptly within a day or two of when I first called.   I originally thought my neighbors were going to repave their driveway,  but they later decided just to seal it instead. Chris was very very good at working with us on the property line issue,  and explaining how having the two driveways next to each other would work, and was very thorough in explaining any drainage issues and how to avoid water problems as much as possible.   He came to perform the work within a few weeks of when we hired him. He had to wait until the weather was suitable for asphalt paving but gave me a few days' notice that he would be ready to start.    He took down my shrubs that had to be removed to install the driveway (for an extra price, of course, which was reasonable), and did an excellent job on installing the asphalt driveway.  My neighbors were also very pleased with the work he did on sealing their existing asphalt driveway.   Chris  either answers the phone when you call, or returns your call promptly if you leave a message.  He keeps you informed of all developments and goes above and beyond to be prompt, courteous and reasonable. He explains everything he's doing and is an excellent trouble-shooter.  I would highly recommend this company for installation of an asphalt driveway.

C & C Paving
Recent Review: The C&C Paving team did an incredibled job on my "y-shaped" (two garages, one at either end of the house) driveway that dated from the house's construction in 1977. In fewer than ten hours one day they removed the old driveway, added gravel and re-graded where needed and put down a good thick layer of new asphalt, and it is absolution beautiful. Wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

Pro Asphalt Maintenance
Recent Review: Cecil came out and walked the driveway with me and explained what they would do. I had another company come out as well. . . and what Cecil described was a more painstaking process. His goal: keep all the water out. I believe they accomplished that. The driveway looks good! Hopefully, in 4 years or so. . . all I'll need to do is seal it again. I'll call Pro Asphalt to come back out and do it for me.

Merit Asphalt
Recent Review: Last year Merit Asphalt patched a 10 X 10 foot area that was in bad condition. There were areas that were raised above the rest of the driveway, and also areas that were completely worn away down to the dirt. The repair job was done perfectly. After a year it still looks perfect. I am very happy with the quality and price of the job.

They did a good job. They told me when they were going to come, and they came. I had gotten an estimate last year that was going to be $4300, while they charged me $2700. They were fine. They were fairly prompt, they completed the job in 2 days, and they did a good job.I felt the price was good.

I called and asked for an estimate. The same afternoon a representative came out and measured my drive. A formal, written estimate was emailed to me the next day. I paid a deposit of 50% and the rest after satisfactory completion of the job. The crew came out and completely prepared the drive. They applied two coats and did a 100% clean-up before leaving. The drive looks great.

AC & C Paving
I have to say, I was highly impressed; considering, I have never seen asphalt installed! C&C's crew showed-up ready to roll at approx. 9 a.m. October 17. They tore-out my existing "gravel" driveway and put down new gravel. They also smoothed-out and compacted the gravel with a vibrating roller. One could easily tell, this was not their first rodeo. The next day, they installed the asphalt. All 300 feet and 2 inches thick! C&C's foreman, Merle, answered all my questions and was happy to do so. As matter of fact, the whole crew was very respectful, not only to me, but also my property. They left my property as it was when they arrived. Minus the driveway, of course! They were in and out, a total of 12 hours combined, for both days. Apparently, C&C Paving is so good that it took them 4 months to get to me. But it was, so worth the wait! This is the only negative aspect I can report. The pictures do not do their work justice! I took over 60 pictures, but Angie's List only allows 10 to be downloaded.

They were very prompt with their estimate. It came right in. They were quick to start the job exactly when they said they would. The price was a very good price because we had estimates probably eight years ago that were several thousand dollars more than what he charged.

They came out on 8/23/12 and began the preparations for the new driveway. They dug out the new area for the driveway which included an expansion to the current one to include space to park two cars beside of each other. They put down gravel, etc., for the new driveway and said they would return the next week to pave. They were also kind enough to move a non-running vehicle into our back yard for us. They returned on 8/30/12 a bit earlier than scheduled (which was just fine) and began paving. I spoke with Merle who was extremely polite! They finished the job quickly and efficiently. We were told to wait four days before driving on the new driveway. They also said if we had any questions at all, to please call and they would be glad to help us. We are very pleased with our new driveway!

FAAA PAVING CO.
Nothing personal here, just business.  The false promises and list of things still not completed since signing a contract on July 10, 2013 are too much not to inform the public.  AAA paving should be banned from Winston Salem.  I am still waiting for my driveway to be completed.  It has taken all this time for these guys to cause water to come into my garage and leave gravel dust and an incomplete driveway for me and my neighbors to gaze upon.  The job is still not done, even though I have heard promise after promise that "so and so will come out right away."  If there's any justice, I'll get my money back.  Thankfully my neighbor is a prominent contractor in Winston and told me last week that because of the botched job at my house he will never recommend AAA paving again.
