Recent Review: Housedoctors was great - fast and high quality work.  There were a few areas that I was not quite satisfied with and they promptly corrected at no additional fee.  I would absolutely use this contractor again.

Recent Review: The experience was good.  They did great work and I would use them again.  We haven’t had any issues with the insulation since then.  It took a bit long to get any info about the tax credit, though.  The price was slightly higher than traditional insulation, but it will pay off in the long run by saving on energy bills.

Recent Review: Dan exemplified the qualities of a great contractor: expertise, constant communication, consistent and firm pricing, no surprises or added costs, excellent clean-up and great on-site teamwork. The work to be performed was delayed on my part by the installation of a new Heat Pump system including ductwork. Dan was very flexible with scheduling his part of the project. He kept in contact communication with me from the time of original quotation to confirming the quotation after ductwork install; then confirming the install date and time adjusting if necessary, as well as calling the night before and calling on his way over. Having worked with multiple contractors over the years, he rates an A++ on keeping in touch. The crew showed up on time, ensured the house flooring was protected at all times, and did a thorough job cleaning up including using a shop vac to clean any debris. Again, unlike earlier experiences with contractors they took the extra time needed to clean up to the point that I did not feel I had to pick up loose debris. Installation was set in two stages: radiant barrier on day 1, blown in insulation, bathroom vents, & attic access hood on day 2 (rain prevented roof work on day 1). Both events were blissfully uneventful. Surprises did not occur and any points of concern were addressed immediately. It's hard to say too many good things. Would I use this company again? Definitely!

The estimation/sales process was handled very well.  Chris was prompt, kept in touch via phone update and arranged to meet with me at times (including Saturday mornings) that met my schedule.  During the quotation process, Chris pointed out several suggestions regarding crawlspace air penetration and ductwork sealing that he told me that he would fix personally while his crew was replacing the batt insulation. I agreed to the quote and scope of work and a date for the work was agreed to. On the date arranged, Chris delivered a subcontract laborer to perform the work and left to deliver materials to another jobsite, leaving the contractor to complete the work. The insulation was replaced, and after a few hours, the contractor reported to me that he was "done" if I wanted to check his work.  I told him that I was not competent to evaluate his work, but I nonetheless accompanied him to the crawlspace and noticed that the galvanized steel seams in the HVAC connections had not been sealed with mastic (as Chris had told me they would do).  I pointed this out to the contractor - his response was that Chris had not told him that was part of the scope of work - he merely replaced the insulation and refastened each of the duct pipes to the floor vents using new zip ties and made sure that they were securely fastened and sealed.  The contractor then went back to work to seal the galvanized steel air handlers with mastic and finished up that task after an other hour or so. Chris spoke to his contractor by phone when he was done with this work to arrange picking him up - and had the contractor ask me for payment while he was in transit.  I decided to pay for the job and left a check with the contractor.  He was picked up and left without any further contact with Chris.  The job site was cleaned appropriately when they left. I called Chris later and relayed to him that I was uncomfortable evaluating the work performed myself and that I felt it was his job to supervise and inspect his contractor's work.  He agreed to come out the next Saturday morning and inspect the work performed.  After completing his inspection, he reported to me that I was missing some insulation ("approximately 8 feet") and that there was some air penetration sealing that he wanted to re-do and suggested that I "budget 2 hours" for the remaining work.  I told him that I felt that whatever additional work needed completing was still within the scope of his original contract and shouldn't require any additional billings.  He suggested that he would talk to and send his most experienced contractor to complete the work, who was often out of town for him working on commercial jobs for GreenServe. Since that conversation, I have received no further communication from Chris, despite repeated attempts at contacting him by phone and email to schedule the completion of the work.  I feel like I have been taken advantage of by paying him that day, instead of refusing to pay before he inspected the work of his contractor.  I should disclose that the contractor was a high school classmate of my sons, which influenced my decision to pay when I did (knowing that he wouldn't get paid until I paid GreenServe) - and I made a judgement that I could trust Chris to finish the work as promised/contracted. I'm very disappointed with Chris' refusal to have any further discussion about this - and his refusal to respond to my attempts at contacting him since 9/21.

John and his team were very professional. They arrived on time, performed good work, and cleaned up when they left. John followed up to make sure that everything was done to my satisfaction. When something needed to be corrected he had his guys out there the next day to make sure everything was right. He has even been following up on an energy credit for the work.
