Recent Review: Dave and his company were a pleasure to do business with. They were punctual, pleasant, and neat. They workmanship was topnotch. They went above and beyond our expectations. Dave and his crew painted the exterior of our home. They also performed some woodworking for installation of a new cupola and general contracting. They painted our kitchen during the time period. Everything was performed to a very high standard in a time efficient manner. I would definitely hire them again in the future for painting as well as general contracting.

Recent Review: He finds his "victims" in local home improvement stores - CAUTION! He approached me as I was looking at paint samples. He seemed very nice and I told him I was looking for someone to help me do a few things around my house in order to list it for sale. He came to my house and gave me an estimate and a contract was signed. He was specifically told that the bottom of the chair rail in the kitchen did NOT need any work and he proceeded to spackle some areas thereby requiring it to be painted again. He seems to create work not in the contract and then wants extra money. Once he started work, he never showed up when he said he would. He could not install the hand rail and I had to pay someone extra to finish this item. He could not properly install the new screen door at the front. Pictures showed it was way uneven and it got stuck. This could not be left that way - that's the first thing a realtor and prospective buyer see. I had to hire someone else to fix his screwed up screen door installation. He took it upon himself to make it necessary for me to purchase new front door locks so all keys would be the same with the back door. He had some trouble installing the new front door locks and his professionalism disappeared. In fact, he was downright scary with his foul mouth and screaming. My wooden stairs to the upstairs were damaged by his painters and their ladders. He left paint drips all over the kitchen floor and never cleaned up. He scratched my new double door refrigerator. Once he fixed the ceiling where there had been a leak, he insisted that the entire kitchen ceiling be repainted. All I wanted was the area to be painted. This person also can be working under the name of Down & Dirty Maintenance with Janice Nitti. He would use some of my tools and supplies and never returned them to me cleaned up or back to original condition. Stay far away from this person!

AMY PREPPED  WALLS AND HUNG WALLPAPER IN TWO BATHROOMS AND A HALL IN OUR HOME. SHE ALSO PAINTED THE TRIM WORK IN ONE OF THE BATHROOMS. SHE PREPPED THE WALLS AND PAINTED A LARGE BEDROOM.  SHE REFINISHED KITCHEN CABINET DOORS, THE TOP OF AN OAK  DESK WHICH HAD SURFACE SCUFF MARKS AND RINGS AND RESTAINED ONE SIDE OF AN ANTIQUE PINE  BATHROOM  DOOR WHICH WAS DAMAGED FROM HUMIDITY. SHE ALSO REFINISHED THE TOP OF A DINING ROOM WINDOW SEAT, TAKING GREAT CARE TO REMOVE ALL SIGNS OF DEEP WATER RINGS. SHE DARKENED THE STAIN OF EXISTING SHOE MOLDING IN OUR LIVING ROOM TO CORRECTLY MATCH THE HARDWOOD FLOOR COLOR. AMY IS VERY COURTEOUS AND "PROFESSIONAL". SHE IS VERY THOROUGH AND WILL EXPLAIN IN DETAIL HER PLAN FOR ACCOMPLISHING YOUR PROJECT.  SHE SHOWS UP FOR WORK WHEN SHE SAYS SHE WILL. SHE TAKES HER TIME MATCHING STAIN COLORS AND OBTAINING THE CORRECT SHEEN.  SHE TAKES PRIDE IN HER WORK AND WILL GO TO GREAT LENGTHS TO BE SURE YOUR ARE HAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME.

Justin was able to schedule the work almost immediately (in fact I had to push it out because I wasn't ready), which is great. The team of three-five workers finished the job in three days, even though they had to suspend work at noon on the second day because of rain. All of them were very friendly and professional, e.g. asking permission to use the microwave to prepare their lunch, or use the guest bathroom. The work was done well, and to my satisfaction.  They told me in advance that, because I was only replacing some of the door frame pieces, the new wood, even after staining, might not perfectly match the 22-year old wood, and I accepted that.  Still, they did their best by sanding down the entire door frame and restaining it all, at no extra cost.  The difference in color of the new wood is noticeable to me, but not to my neighbor who didn't know which pieces had been replaced.  So, again, totally satisfied. The same warning about not perfectly matching was given about the external siding replaced, but I had them restain the entire garage door surface (not including the metal doors), and the match looks perfect to me.  Results better than expected. They made two minor mistakes, not in the work, but in putting everything back the way it was.  One was forgetting to reinsert the washer drain hose into the drain, when they moved the clothes washer back into place, resulting in a load of water on the floor the first time I ran it.  Easily cleaned up with towels, and no damage to the vinyl floor.  Other mistake was leaving the outdoor faucet turned on (but the sprayer head of the attached hose was closed, so this wasn't visible).  It got below freezing and the water in the hose froze, but no apparent damage to the outdoor faucet. Finally, I had a little trim piece that I had to remove from the floor when I installed a slightly larger refrigerator, and I asked them if they could please cut it down to fit and put it back on.  This was not in the original quote but they were happy to do this small job, which I thought was the sign of a company that wants to please the customer. I would not hesitate to use this service again.  This was one of my best experiences with a contractor for this sort of work.
