Recent Review: Found plumber on Internet and made an appointment. Plumber wanted to come sooner, on a Friday afternoon and called back to see if he could come immediately, and I let him. I had purchased all the necessary kits and parts that were brushed nickel and would go with the rest of the bathroom hardware. From the beginning he told me repeatedly he could save me money by using his parts instead of replacing it all. I originally and REPEATEDLY said "no," but he finally convinced me that the Moen I had in there would last forever with new "inners" and I acquiesced. He said he would warranty the work. He placed a unit in the faucet while I cleaned and polished the handle, and replaced the drain on top. Both worked well. Days later I went to turn on the shower and very little water came out of the shower and instead sprayed everywhere, even sideways, from the tub faucet. I called him, and yes, I was upset, asked him to CALL ME BACK to set up an appointment, and INSTEAD he showed up unannounced with an inferior part, not interested in fixing the Moen that was there but NOW REPLACING IT, and said he didn't check the shower last time because it was late on a Friday... THE TIME HE INSISTED ON COMING... and he had a concert to go to. When I said I would not accept the cheap replacement, he said I was I was not "communicating," and that I "seemed panicked" and that's why he came without calling. While this gentleman is affable and funny, he was very, very pushy and insisted upon using HIS parts, and he was not careful with his work on this job. He charged me $200 for the one hour and eighteen minute service call, including parts replacements which were under $25. He ignored my desire to replace everything and was determined to sell me his parts. He ignored our appointment and came on a Friday and talked about a concert he needed to get to. He told me I could get a new replacement free from Moen, to save even more money. NOT TRUE. He just talked his way around everything he did. I was foolish to listen to the double-talk. What plumber fixes a shower and tub faucet and doesn't check to see if it's working. But the most egregious moment, and the moment that prompted me to write this review, was that once he saw the spray from the faucet using half the water that should be in the shower head, he said, and I quote: "Maybe that's the way it works... maybe that's the way it was MEANT to work." Maybe the faucet should be spraying water all over the place instead of diverting the water to the shower head????? At that point I knew there was something terribly wrong and escorted him out of my house and locked the door. Everything else he did may have been a lack of experience on his part, or the fact he was in a hurry and needed cash. I can only speculate. But to tell a female customer, after he had talked her out of putting in new plumbing fixtures in her new bathroom remodel because he can save her money, that water spraying sideways from a tub faucet instead of being diverted to the shower head is "the way it works...the way it is meant to work," and sticking with that story, is incomprehensible and astonishingly arrogant. I recommend you stay clear of this gentleman for the reason he did the worse job possible for me and treated me as if I was incapable of understanding that I'd just been taken to the cleaners.
