Recent Review: After pricing sheds in the area, I came upon Vilas Creek Buildings, a subsidiary of Pine View Buildings. They just opened up on HW321 in Vilas, NC. I found Ron, one of the owners, to knowledgeable and professional. He was easy to deal with and very accommodating. I was impressed by the quality of the construction. Ron made sure I was kept informed of the progress and probable delivery dates. As the company was new, Ron came along with the delivery truck and made sure everything was done in a professional manner. I highly recommend this company if you're in the market for an out-building.

Recent Review: Really ? I am not being paid to write this review, I am just that happy with this contractor, John Simpson of Simpson?s Home Improvements. From the beginning of the process to the end, John is attentive to his customer. I found that he responds in a timely manner to phone calls and emails. John was prompt in showing up for the initial meeting and took his time to walk thru the different projects I had in mind taking notes and measurements. Simpson?s estimates were reasonable, neither the most nor least costly based on the other estimates I received, and at the end of my various projects I felt that I received more than my money?s worth. John is also good at project management, laying out the day?s work objectives. I was happy to see that he gave his crew a chance to learn new skills (i.e. grouting tile) but under his supervision. John also has a great crew working for him. Despite my inability to describe what I wanted, the crew came up with the right solution/look when replacing my landscape timbers.  I had to wait almost two months because of his very busy schedule, and the work itelf took almost 4 weeks, but it was worth the wait.  I was very pleased with everything. Bottom line ? I would hire Simpson?s Home Improvement again.

Recent Review: Scope of Project was expanded as underlying problems were discovered.  Previous owners had not correctly repaired water caused damage. Example(s): 1) Man door to Tack Room in garage was found to have been repaired with a large quantity of wood filler and painted over to cover rotted wood on door frame and did nothing to address the cause.  2) Leaky window problem in the Tack Room had been covered up by weather stripping.  3)  The Shed had a lot of rotting wood covered over by siding, this was discovered when the rotted  corner frame 4x4's were being replaced.

AJ&S Construction
The overall process was great.  The worst part was probably getting through the Moore County inspection process, but Jeremiah helped every step of the way, remained professional, and got the job done in a very timely, efficient manner.  Once the construction began, it went quickly.  The men were at work every day early and often stayed past 5 pm.  Jeremiah answered any questions I might have, and explained options I didn't know I had.  I am quite pleased with the work, and have even hired him on for a 2nd job.

FRobert Maynard Construction
It went terribly.  I was referred by the realtor I contracted to my house REMAX Elite.  Only half the shed was demoed there is no evidence of any ceiling repairs there were amendments to the proposal for repairing of molding/trim on the outside bathroom window.  I was only caulked and left with caulking dripping down the walls. Was very unreliable and  was hard to contact.  Has not returned finish or make good on the remaining items.  Phone has been disconnected.

Never had a problem with anything. They did what they said were going to do. No surprises on price because they gave a price before they started

AThree Handy Men
It's a small firm run by a guy and his cousin or his uncle. They have different crews. We used them last month because we were getting ready to move and we needed some work done on the outside. We contacted several contractors and repair places. We were concerned about picking them to start with because they underbid everybody over a $1000.00. He was good and he is bonded, but we didn't know what he had missed. It turned out our fears were groundless. He had miscalculated in his mind how long it would take to actually paint the house because it is full brick and it was just going to be trim. He never said a word about it. It was a fixed cost contract where he had it all laid out what he would do for the price he would do it for. They did a wonderful job. Other people told me that they were absolutely surprised because they thought that they tended to bid high on jobs. The other guys we had that came and gave us estimates were not even close. They are listed in the phone book. I am a bargain shopper and they did have it down that they accepted credit cards. I have one of those cards that I get 1 percent back if I can run it through my card so I try to run everything I can through my Visa card. When it came time to pay, they said that was a mistake that they couldn't afford to do that and they hadn't set that up and had it bonded. I thought that was a little misleading in their advertisement. That was the only complaint I had about them. We actually gave the workers a bonus to go have dinner because they finished it so timely. They were so pleasant. They didn't wake me up making extra noise and if you walked outside, they were working. We had one guy tell us that he would happily do the job. He would charge us $20.00 an hour and if we didn't hear from him in a month, to call him back. We haven't heard from him in a month and we didn't call him back. Other people were talking about how long it would take to get us worked into their schedule. Time wasn't a big factor for us. But these guys said they could have somebody out tomorrow and they did. One of the other ones we called on a Friday said he would call on Monday and make an appointment to come and look. When I called him on Monday afternoon, he said he forgot. It is hard to start a business relationship with somebody like that. We are going to have the inside done and these guys will have the opportunity to bid on finishing the inside of the house. The storage shed they painted was an extra $1000.00 after the original contract. We saw the quality of the work they were doing and had them do that as well. Right now Three Handy Men would be our contractor. They are not just handymen. The guy is a licensed general contractor. Anything we need done from remodeling the bathroom or the kitchen or doing the carpeting, he is qualified or has the personnel available. He has got a team of painters. He came out and helped them to do some work. He is qualified to do it himself, but he has specialized crews too. He was worried that the air-conditioning duct work in the attic might have some damage because of squirrels. They ran all the squirrels out and he had somebody come in at no cost to us to verify the integrity of our system upstairs. I was expecting another bill on the side. The guy and his helper that went upstairs asked me to cut the power on to make sure it was running and they could check for any leaks around any of the seals. He came back down and told us that we had no problems whatsoever. It was nice to know that since we are planning on selling the house. We would hire them again in the future.
