We have contracted with Allain Hunsiker of Restoration Design LLC numerous times over the past 5 years. He has kept our seven-bedroom Outer Banks beach house in great condition, both inside and out. His work is high quality and his approach is professional. We value his insight and appreciate his attention to detail. Since our home is a vacation rental property, we are not always around when he does the work. We trust Allain at the beach house when we are not present. On these trips, he performs an overall assessment of the house, determines what work needs to be done and executes various projects. We appreciate how he keeps us updated with progress reports and photos, and discusses recommendations. He’s done exterior work (using thirty-foot ladders) on the Dolphin Inn’s second and third story decks, in addition to significant carpentry (inside and out), along with interior painting, trim and even furniture. Allain is an interesting man with great attention to detail. We consider ourselves extremely lucky that he is willing to take on the weathering impact of the salt, sea and sun, and keep our house in such beautiful condition.

Bruce and Cory provided exceptional service! They were extremely helpful, kind, and professional. They took every step needed to assure we were happy with the results. We received a discount on paint They were prompt, provided exceptional communication, and efficient. Their work was not only reasonably prices but of very good quality. They were very friendly and a joy to work with. We will definitely be using their services again when we paint the exterior of our house! I highly recommend them.

The painters were punctual each day they came to the house, provided primer where needed, did extra work that wasn't in original contract. Any time there were spots that were missed or additional coats of paint were needed, the painters were more than happy to oblige.

AMichael's Maintenance
Michael came to give us an estimate - he showed up on time, understood our needs clearly and even noticed a fire hazard that had been missed by  our home inspector.  He called the next day with a quote and availability to get the job done quickly. Because of rain/snow, Michael delayed the job 2 days to ensure that the quality was high (to avoid paint running in the high humidity.) When it was dry, he came early and worked solidly until the job was done well.  His greatest concern was that I be pleased with the results and we were! Not only did Michael do great work, but he was kind to my children.  As I got to know Michael a little bit, I am even more confident that he will do a great job with whatever projects we are unable to do ourselves and seek his help on. I would highly recommend him and look forward to working with him again.

FRicky Pearce Painting
Mr. Pearce was the worst case of over-promise and under-deliver I have ever seen.  He was quick to show up to do a quote, quick to collect a substantial deposit, then the excuses immediately began.  Day one, he HAD to go to Raleigh to appease a realtor who had a paining "emergency" and would provide him more business than our job.  When he came to take the deposit, I walked him thru the house and showed him exactly what I wanted, showed him that the wallpaper stripping had left some gouges in the walls, and that I may not have time to complete it before he wanted to begin. ( He was trying to fit us into a 2 week window of time he had available  before an out of town job on Bald Head Island.  )  He sounded so capable, so eager to begin, so sure nothing I showed him would be a problem, and indicated he could finish everything in two weeks, even if his crew had to finish stripping wallpaper.  He said he would cover everything, pull off all hardware, nails, etc., patch all holes and told me how glad I would be that we hired him. (if only that were the case). After our walk thru and discussion, he said the original quote he gave us was fine, so we gave him the deposit.  He told us that stripping the paper at an hourly rate would be the only extra charge.  As I mentioned, the job started with delays.  Then there were all of a sudden these "necessities" that prompted him to call in his "buddies" who are carpenters, who deserve their own review.  In hindsight I see this for the scam that it was, because it muddied the timeline and the expense of the job.  Remember all of this was to be done in two weeks.  Then there was the wallpaper ordeal.  His helpers were no more skilled than me at getting the stuff off, and it took longer than we thought, and required a drywall contractor to come and fix it.  (again, more "buddies", more expense, more time.) When I checked in on the job, there was paint everywhere.  All over the hardwood floors, hinges, lightswitches, a radio I left there in case they wanted music while they worked.  The line between the trim and walls was not crisp.  In a word, sloppy.  In many cases I could not tell what had just primer, or one coat or two coats.  Then Mr. Pearce began to argue about what was and was not to be included in his price.  He wanted a draw weekly to pay his help, and every week, the amount we owed grew. I reminded him that there were things he was  now asking for that I had discussed with him and he chose at the time not to adjust the price.  He  complained constantly how this was a bigger job than he thought it would be.  Although in the beginning he boasted about how many years of experience he had.  Why would a seasoned painter worth his salt be so bad at estimating time and material cost? Plus the two weeks deal was out the window.  And we waited a month for his return, wondering all the while if we actually WANTED him to  return.  At this point, without every detail in writing, we didnt have a leg to stand on.  And there had been so many extras and it had gone on so long that the whole agreement had become unclear. While we contemplated this, I did my own calculations, and prepared my argument for why there was no way we would pay him any more to complete the job than we all ready had, and when presented with this, he chose not to return.  My feeling was that while I would have preferred him NOT to come back, I would give him the benefit of the doubt that he could tidy things up and we would still get an adequate job in the end.  I figured if he had any professionalism at all, he would choose to finish what he started, and not leave us feeling cheated.    The quality of Mr Pearce's painting leave much to be desired.  He is not neat or respectful of the jobsite.  He can not cut a line, he painted over hardware, switches and receptacles.  He sloppily taped off doorknobs and got paint all over those.  There were drips, runs,  nails not removed, trim not patched where nails were removed, edges not covered, the list goes on and on.  Bottom line, we had to hire another painter to come in and basically re-do the job for about the price we had just spent.  Naturally it is more expensive for a painter to come in behind someone that to start from scratch.  The new painter said that when they took the trim paint to the paint store to have it matched, the salesperson said the paint was so thinned he was amazed it was sticking to the trim at all.  True, we had noticed, you barely have to touch the trim and the new paint would flake off.  He probably never even primed it properly, but who knows.  In any event, most of it had to be redone.  I accept responsibility for not properly checking references, and I decided to post a review to assist others who may be trying to research this company.  I would NOT recommend this painter.

ACranfill Painting
Nathan takes tremendous pride in his work and produces outstanding results in a timely and efficient manner. I would highly recommend him to anyone, even my closest friends. Every aspect of this job, from prep work to staining and painting, was done with the outstanding attention to detail one should expect of a highly qualified, professional painter. I was extremely impressed with Nathan's work ethic. He and his crew always showed up on time and went right to work and worked steadily the entire time they were on the property. I paid him and his crew on an hourly basis. Not only was his hourly rate reasonable, but I think I got extremely good value for my money. .And my house has never looked better, both inside and out.

Recent Review: The Gonzalez team is fantastic! From the first estimate through the completed project, they were professional and fast. They took care of buying the paint, helping us determine the right finish for the walls, and even patching holes and minor issues with the drywall. Although it was a large job (two floors of the house), the team left our house useable every evening. We absolutely love our new paint job, and are pleased with how affordable it was for top-quality work.

Recent Review: We have been looking for sometime now to have the interior of our home painted. We had concerns that some of the history of our home would be lost, as we had many companies out to give bids. I was so impressed with Cory Rose Painting. Their bid process was through. They listened to exactly what my wife and I wanted and knew exactly how to achieve it. Their presentation was extremely professional and when we received the bid we were ecstatic. They arrived daily on time, they were extremely detailed and took care of the things that meant a lot to us. (hardwood floor, accents, and  original molding) The whole crew worked together like a fine oiled machine, very friendly and respectful. That meant a lot to us. I can not express enough how comfortable we were having them in our home. When they were done we were so pleased with their work we decided to have the exterior painted. Again, Cory and Bruce walked the house explaining, pointing out, and giving us options not telling us what to do. They are so very detailed and knowledgeable. We now have an older home with new charm. Excellent Job!

Recent Review: The Service with All Pro Painting was very good.  They were very accommodating, especially considering I had to change the schedule on them and with such a wet winter we have had.  On each occasion, they were back at the stated time, which was very helpful with my work schedule.  Justin was great at explaining everything, to me and my wife on separate occasions,  that had to be done.  His crew was very professional.  Our house is quite old and wasn't sure that it would be worth the money to merely change the color.  We couldn't be more happy that we did. We have had a lot of great feedback from our family, friends, and neighbors.  I called them two months later for some work on the inside of the house and the work was was completed with the same expectations they created with their previous work.  The work at our house has led to work at three of our neighbors and we all agree that they do great and professional work.  Thanks for everything.
