Recent Review: Overall it went well. Jason came out and reviewed the project with us. Took measurements and gave us a quote. He explained an option which helps keep the shower door from spotting. Sounded like it made sense. We went for the option which has a ten year warranty. He also explained that we shouldn't use common cleaners like Windex or any ammonia based product on the glass door as that would harm the finish. He suggested the use of a foam squeegee to help keep the glass clear.   The door was delivered on time. The installation crew did a good job, except that the factory cut the door too narrow. They remeasured and order another door. We had to wait an additional two weeks to complete the work. The replacement door arrived as promised. It was installed and had a nice fit. They trimmed out the door and cleaned up the installation debris. Everyone was courteous and pleasant to work with. Very good communications.  The door looks great. It does not leak. We are happy and would highly recommend them.  A suggestion to anyone installing a frameless shower door in an alcove, be sure that your tile contractor installs tiled walls that are plumb. For some reason tile contractors don't like to use levels to check their work. Jason and his crew used three levels for the door installation. If they can use them so can your tile contractor.

Recent Review: My suddenly dropped down broken window was practically an emergency. David answered the phone (I hate those voice messages) and was able to fit me in and was here within the hour. Others I called earlier did not call back for hours and by that time, David was on the way. I don't know what I would have done without him! One thing I really like is that he can fix things rather than go for the "let's just replace the whole thing" expensive route. It was good to have a choice. I went the fix it route and he did a wonderful job. I will definitely call him again. And, in fact, he will be coming back next week. Great work, great rates, very knowledgeable.

Recent Review: We replaced a white Corian countertop with a granite top. In order to enable this small bath to show its true size, we also replaced the shower curtain on a rod with a gleaming chrome sliding shower door, maximizing the room's appearance and elegance. It appeared to be a new tub after the project was completed, though it was the same preformed acrylic one. This was a less expensive route than creating a new walk-in granite shower, though that certainly would have been the more expensive option. You can trust these people completely in your house. We even used a remnant for the countertop, saving money that way also. It still wasn't cheap, but I've never regretted my beautiful new surface. Great work!

Recent Review: I've used them twice now. It's beautiful work. I can not say enough good things about them. He let's us know everything beforehand. When he has been doing things for us, he will point out things that should have been done by someone else and he will go ahead and fix them with our permission. I would never hire anyone else but him. He is very trustworthy.

We have had problems with our shower door not closing properly for years. I had tried some temporary fixes and they were just that - temporary. I did not think that the average handyman would have access to the necessary parts, and was not sure where to turn. One day, driving down Blue Clay Road, my wife noticed a sign for the Carolina Shower Door Company, I found a listing online, and called. I provided them with the dimensions and emailed a couple of photos of the door. The representative called me the next morning to see when he could come out and was there that same afternoon. Within about an hour he had replaced the hinge and several other parts and the door was as good as new.

Chester is just what we wanted as a contractor. He took ample time to discuss our needs and offered many suggestions that we hadn't thought of. He offered for us to look at a job in progress near us that he was working on so that we could see the quality and nature of his work. We listened to two other contractors and their estimates, but we thought that Chester was extremely knowledgeable about all facets of things that concerned us including the all important esthetics. When we decided to select him as our contractor, he came back at appointed time with a thorough contract that he allowed us to amend to our satisfaction. Very professional and easy to do business with. Once work began, his crew (plumber and tile installer) came every day on time, laid protective floor covering everywhere needed-especially important in the tear-out of the pre-existing bath fixtures and appliances. The workmen were always careful about not making messes and always leaving each day so that we didn't feel like we were in the middle of a war zone ( I've been there before with other prior renovations!). As is normal, there were a few surprises about the existing plumbing lines that required decision making on our part. Once assessed of the options that included code requirements, our preferences were honored.  As things progressed, we were often consulted about our preferences about this and that. When work was complete, there were no surprises, and no disappointments. We got what we hoped for and expected. The work was of high quality and done right. My spouse and I are-at least perfectionist-to some degree and we were both happy. Some months later when there were several issues of pretty minor consequence-but important to us-Chester responded immediately-no put-offs, excuses, or other common rationalizations. He returned with his plumber (at least an hour or more away from us) and took care of the small issues we wanted. I've always believed that you get what you pay for...and with Chester we got that and my wife and myself are very happy to recommend him-and recommend him highly. David & Barbara Merkle
