Recent Review: I didn't think the AC unit was functioning as well as it should, so I called the company that was on a sticker on the unit.  They were able to schedule me for 2 days later.  The guy showed up on time, and went right to work.  He allowed me to follow him around, asking many questions.  He was thorough, professional, and competent.  He did an excellent job, and cleaned up after himself.  I wouldn't hesitate to hire this company again.

Recent Review: Our AC went out this summer. Prior to it going completely out I had called two other companies and they both came out and tinkered with it a few hours, gave me a couple hundred dollar bill, and the "fixes" never worked anyways. So then I called these fellas. They was VERY curtious, they sent someone out that day, and he found the problem straight away. A trash bag had wrapped its self around the fan and was overheating the motor. Which also goes to show how thorough these other companies was. So, he priced a new motor for me. But he also just suggested I look into a new unit. Mine was anchit. Plus I had explaned to him that over the last two summers we have spent $500ish on it cause it kept breaking down. Now my parents own the house, and my ol man, well let's just say he is old school and very tight on his money. So after giving me a few estimates...I said well I better call my old man and see what he wants to do. So while talking to my pops he was asking ME question after question after question. So I asked the gentleman if he would be willing to answer my dad's questions. Sure he says. ..and as I handed him the phone I said sorry! Mind you that date it was like 100 out. Super hot. 30 minutes later he hands my phone back to me and dad tells me Go ahead and get a new one. Just like that! Yall don't know my dad so when I say this it doesn't carry as much...well any clout as it does for those who do know him. But for my ol man to say yes after only talking to a stranger he never met, didn't know, couldn't look him in his eyes( I guess to tell they type of man he was), but he did. He said yes. Later he would tell me that he had NEVER dealt with a person so knowledgeable in their field as this technician was. He answered every question my dad had and answered them honestly. He didn't give any BS answers or stammer around. Straight to the point. When asked when he could install it, he did say they were very busy and we're looking at like two to three weeks out. But, I have health issues at the moment. And no one likes to be hot, but with my issues it especially makes me feel horrible. So, they offered to do it on the weekend. That weekend. It just so happened to be storming that Saturday, so they came the very next day. It was STILL storming, but they still came. They did all the inside worknow forst, then with a break in the weather they did the outside work. I have read some of the comments on here, and honestly I was shocked by what I read. So much so it crossed my mid if maybe someone had an issue with them, maybe a personal one, and got fronds or family to write bad reviews. I just can't see the people I dealt with, the company being like that. I have never seen a technician so knowledgeable, professional and curtious as the one who I delt with. After seeing the other reviews I had to write one. Professional all the way!

Recent Review: Central AC unit went out called Jim at JC Heating & Cooling for an estimate. They beat the price of the larger HVAC dealer/installers in the area. Not only did Jim and his crew do a great job, he loaned me a couple of window AC units before I even excepted his bid. Great job, great system ... cut my utility bill by 25% the first year.

Repair person arrived as promised. He investigated the issue and then recommended actions and alternatives. He gave cost estimates for all options. When I determined what I wanted to do, he proceeded to repair based on that direction. He completed job in timely manner. The actual cost was very close to estimate. He cleaned up area where he worked. He acted responsibly and with professionalism.

He came out to my house to fix my air conditioning unit. They installed a $200 part for our unit and only charged us $60 for the service call. A few weeks later the unit went out again and they came out to take a look one more time. They said that to fix the unit it would be an expensive replacement, so I decided not to go with it. They were extremely nice and I would use them again in the future.

Nathan knows HVAC. He is honest and does what he says he will do. He shows up when he promises and installs top quality HVAC equipment. The Daikin and quot;suitcaseand quot; arrived at Peterson's shop with a small cosmetic dent from the shipping company. Nathan sent it back to the manufacturer and insisted a new unit be sent out within a few days. He really takes pride in his work and takes the time to educate the customer. The new unit has greatly reduced the time my central AC is running.

FSCHRAER HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING
Horrible. I had to beg to get them to come to my house to (I thought) fix my A/C that had fallen off of the brackets it was on. They didn't do the original installation but had told me 7 months before it was installed too close to my house and that's why I was having so many problems with it. I let them move it out on bracket extensions they installed. Seven months later I got up to a non-working A/C that was lying on the ground! It took two days of calling to finally get a repairman out who made an attempt to repair it. The first repairman left after doing nothing and telling me they would be back sometime the next week to fix it. The second one tried the same thing until I absolutely insisted they fix it NOW. He claimed the A/C fell because of the original installation was faulty. In reality it was because they moved the A/C out on the added extensions that had no support under them and the brace pulled out of the wall. Also, they never attached the brace to the A/C which would have given a little support and the A/C might have been saved instead of junked. On top of that when they reinstalled the brackets and put the A/C back on them, one was over 1and quot; lower than the other! I brought that to his attention and he just shrugged. At that time they still thought the A/C was repairable.

We solicited bids from 3 contractors, then we found Jack's Refrigeration. We wanted heat pumps, since the 20- and 30-year old central air conditioner + electric furnaces we had were so inefficient; we had bills over $600 per month in winter and summer.  We wanted either a Carrier, American Standard, or a Goodman. It took 2 weeks to get the first 3 bids, but Jack's sent over a young man the next day, and e-mailed me the quotes that night.  His entire bid was lower than the other 2 we considered (we threw out the bid for Heil units due to nightmare product reviews online). His bid included everything, and was the most high-tech, but not nearly as expensive.  It seemed to be the best value for the money.  We agreed on an installation time frame (within 2 weeks), between a couple of jobs he already had (he seemed very busy), and they showed up on time, replaced each unit in a couple of days, cleaned up everything. He had to replace some breakers and wiring that were sketchy, from the original builder, but didn't take any additional time, and only charged for parts. He threw in the humidifiers for free!  The outside units are mounted on sturdy brackets on the side of the house, off the ground, so leaves won't be a problem anymore. The air handlers are top of the line, and really quiet.  We got programmable thermostats, hooked up to the internet; I can turn them off or on, adjust the temperature, from my phone, before we start home from the airport (and I have, it's cool!). We'll be using Jack's Refrigeration for everything we can from now on.

The first technician (one of the owner's sons) was inexperienced, and frequently called the owners for guidance while doing the installation. Instead of realizing he was not equipped to handle the job, they continued to send him out again to try to finish the installation. Finally on the third trip to finish the installation both owners (John and Jack) responded in order to finish the installation. The installation process was handled very unprofessionally, and the quality of workmanship was extremely poor, which is why our flooring and insulation are now damaged and must be replaced, as well as the hardwood flooring in our kitchen. We had another heating and air conditioning company take a look at the air conditioner and the subsequent damage. This service technician told us the unit was not installed properly and that is why we experienced these problems and damage. Overall, I would have to say this experience has been a very expensive nightmare.
