Recent Review: Mr Arnold showed up on time and very professional, gave me a free estimate, and then since i needed it asap, he went to home depot and purchased the heater, and all the supplies. He returned and removed the old  heater, and installed the new one and all accessories, this took him about 2 hrs to do. Mr Arnold was very kind and cleaned any mess he had made and took all the materials with him when he left. I had called him and he was very flexible with my work schedule and the emergency i was in as well.

Recent Review: We have always had a positive experience with American Home Shield as far as scheduling service appointments and have found some very reliable contractors as a result. We did have problems with a couple of the service repair companies sent to service our dishwasher, but AHS worked with us to find alternate companies and resolve the issue.

Recent Review: It is never a customer’s responsibility to prove that work was in fact not completed, but yet that is how we were treated. It is also not acceptable to tell a customer that they are unethical and “looking for something for free” when that customer protests being charged $600 for a repair that was neither asked for nor done. Insinuating that we should pay, because “maybe the tech just snuck into your yard and fixed it” is wildly inappropriate and also trespassing. Being asked “well is it working now?” as if we are stupid enough to think Vaughan fixed our spa and consequently pay the bill is insulting. Through this whole process, instead of being polite and attempting to make us not feel like we were being scammed, that feeling was reinforced by every rude interaction we had with a Columbia store employee (Brent). He even went so far as to tell my husband that I didn’t know what I was talking about and basically call me a liar. We have never been treated with such a lack of even common courtesy by a business before. We had willingly paid them for repairs and products in the past, so being accused of trying to get something for free was absurd and insulting. Don't do business with this company if you hope to have a good or fair service experience!

FInsurance Repair Service
I am the Vendor/Authorized Distributor for Marey Heater Corp.  The product purchased was a tankless natural gas water heater. Insurance Repair Service  (IRS) also goes by the name of USA Services.  (IRS) Purchased item from me on eBay and sold it to their customer.  50 days later claimed water heater was "defective" and opened return request and left a retaliatory negative feedback.  I denied return as it was a warranty issue with the water heater manufacturer.  Then (IRS)  went to PayPal and opened a claim declaring the water heater "Not as Described".  The claim with PayPal was fraudulently opened because this provider did not even legally own the water heater as it had been sold to their customer, nor did they actually have it in their possession.  This provider appears to do shoddy work, has dishonest practices with vendors and extremely poor business practices.  When confronted they blame everyone else and lie to cover up their short comings. After having done a Google search on this company, it also appears that this is an on going practice.

The handyman was right on time, very clean and polite. Replaced my water heater and didn't try to upsell me. Talked with me about what my needs were and which options made the most sense. Got the job done sooner and less expensive than he'd estimated. Even took time out to make sure I knew how to operate it, and to make sure that the temperature was at a safe setting. Great to know this company is doing business here in Columbia.

They agreed to plaster the dry-walls in the basement. I wish they knew that all the vents should be covered and the heater turned off when they go to the sanding stage: the whole house was covered in dust and the filter in the heater was so clogged that my heater was down and cost me $150 to fix. The quality of work is pretty poor--bulges are everywhere. Aaron blamed the drywall guy for that, but I was told by another professional that the plaster man should be able to cover all the imperfections of the dry wall.  Now, we have to place the furniture strategically and buy a lot of wall decorations to cover all that ugliness. My wife and I are not happy with this at all.  Besides, Aaron told me that he will charge $1200 and will provide the mud, for which I wouldn't have to pay. Then, after they finished, he said that I have to pay for mud, which was about $200. Never hiring this guy again! I did give them "C" for professionalism instead of "F": after the painter called them and said that they would have to redo some of the walls, they did come back (although there was very little improvement).

Jay is great.  He handled the installation of the water heater easily, disposed of the old one, and cleaned up after himself.  He showed up on time and his estimates on time to completion of the project were correct.  I was also impressed with his knowledge of the market- his estimate of cost & labor for the project were right on.  He was always accessible by phone and friendly about a couple of questions I had after he finished.  There was also some minor drama with the buyer and buyer's agent that ended up involving him at one point, and he handled that really well.I talked to Jay about another project earlier in the year, regarding taking out a shower door and replacing it with a shower curtain, and I was very pleased with the way he handled it- he brought up a few issues with the project that would lead to less-than-perfect results, which changed my mind about the project.  While it didn't make him any money on the project, it did make me remember his name and call him back a few months later about the water heater.  And when he was out at my house to look at the hot water heater, he also gave me his opinion on another issue.  He wasn't able to fix it, or he said he wouldn't be able to fix it easily or quickly, but his comments were extremely helpful in selecting the right person to do the fix.  I really respect that kind of range of knowledge and accuracy in estimates.  I will definitely contact Jay Robinson again in the future to handle projects.

CAmerican Home Shield – Home Warranty
It's a home warranty company so they call other companies to come out and fix things but I actually pay American Home Shield. The pool heater is not actually not yet fixed. I'm not very happy with them right now. The company they had come out is trying to get a part but I guess it's on back order. But the first time, somehow they didn't even get the request. I have been trying to get it fixed since the end of May actually. It's been very frustrating. They have given me a lot of different reasons but right now I guess they're just waiting for the parts. They have this policy where when you buy a home from someone and the warranty is in the other person's name, they won't switch it over to your name; they have to have you contact the seller of the home and have them call the company and tell them to switch it. So it's still not in my name even though I bought the home in December. That's an annoying policy they have that I can't get around.
