Recent Review: Remi Cruz's bid was half what another Angie's List company was. We provided 4 gallons of paint.  They power washed the house then applied two coats.  There was no mess, no music, and no messing around. They worked very hard for two days and I feel like I have a new house. Fantastic job. Very conscientious :)

Recent Review: When Kent Hallowell gave me the bid, he pointed out that he could try to fix all the exterior defects on the house (replace weathered trim, add/repair gutters, etc.) very cheaply as he is a general contractor not just a painter. This saved time and money. Most of the other painters I spoke with would have sub-contracted the work or would not do it. The guys started on time. Some additional work was added to the job (replacing a missing column under the mud room)for very little additional money and it didn't increase the length of the job much. We were initially planning to paint a darker gray. Kent Hallowell suggested the color we had chosen might be too dark for the house so he bought small cans of each of several similar shades and painted sections for us to see the difference. This allowed us to contemplate the options while they prepped the house. He was right. The shade we had initially chosen was too dark. The color he suggested looks great. The only problem I had was that they painted some rock trim that I told them I did not want them to paint. They were sorry when they realized the error and offered to strip the paint (which is all you can really do in a situation like that), but the rock really looked better painted. After they finished, they power washed the sidewalks and driveway. The house looks amazing. I am thoroughly satisfied and will hire them again.

Great.  I was in a panic because they had delivered a refrigerator and then it was a bit too large.  So I took off the trim and managed to get it in but then the doors wouldn't open.  I was in a panic to get everything put back together and the new smaller refrigerator was delivered.   It was raining so they sent someone right over since an outdoor job had been cancelled.  He help me get the refrigerator unstuck, put the trim back and fixed two doors that wouldn't shut correctly.  He was a life savor and I had had quite the week moving in coordinating movers, delivery guys and carpenters.

AComplete Handyman
Danny responded quickly to my call and arranged to come over for to view the problem and prepare an estimate in less than two days. He arrived on time on a Sunday.  His inspection of the problem was quick and thorough.  He was patient and understanding as I expressed my concerns about certain areas and the urgency of my need.  Winter and bad weather was approaching (it was the second week of November). An estimate was promised for later the same day on about four (4) hours.  He beat the time by emailing me the complete estimate in less than three (3) hours. Despite the cooler temperatures, Danny started on the day promised. His work (some of which I observed in progress) was excellent.  He knew of my desire to keep the cost down while also wanting to not have to soon again address the problem areas. He performed very good daily cleanups of the work area and the preparation areas. I feel bless to have had Danny recommended by a coworker whose opinions i valued. As he worked on my home, I came up with two smaller projects for him as well recommending he contact one of my neighbors for trim work.  After all, now that my place looks so great I want to spread it around.

This service is very responsive. Did a good job of matching the need to the right handyman. Estimate, quotation , and subsequent repair was done in a very timely and professional manner. John was extremely efficient , very thorough , and left the work site in excellent condition. This was our first experience with Handyman Connection and they can count on us for repeat business.

Very well. Roof was leaking around cupola. Roofing company caulked but said cupola should be repaired or replaced. Drew removed caulk done by roofing company, re-caulked with his choice of caulk, sealed, replaced trim with "smart wood" and painted. We've had hard rains since repair was completed and his repairs appear to be effective, however Drew said we'd need a big snow for a final test.

Jim and Rosemary McCoy presented their proposal with happy faces and a decent price. They replaced some trim boards and sealed the stucco. When they came back for inspection (and payment), we told them they did not paint the trim, and there was a lot of overspray. We asked them to replace some trim boards on the chimney, and they noticed a window that needed repair and bid on that. When they came to do the trim, they did not paint the trim in full as they quoted, but just touched up spots, mostly their overspray. Mr. McCoy acted perturbed that he had to paint the trim at all. We paid them for the job, and they said they'd return the following week to finish the job. From that point on, we had difficulty getting them to return our calls. It took a month before we could get them to return. They replaced the lower trim boards on the chimney but not the higher ones. When Rosemary called for additional payment, we advised they did not finish the job. We have not heard from them since.

Went great. Did exactly what was discussed and did it well. Everything is looking nice and he also caulked a few areas while he was up on the ladder that were not in the scope of work. Appreciate his communication and timely work completion. I will be using again.

ABordner Home Improvement
We selected Bornder's after getting estimates from them and 2 other companies on Angie's LIst We selected Bordner's based on their attention to detail, the ability to choose between either CertainTeed or James Hardie siding for the same price, the ability to replace all the siding on the house wfith lap siding (3 sides of our house were batten board) at no extra charge, and the trim material which they recommended. We had also used them about 10 years before to re-roof our house and were pleased with that project as well. However, the prior project was only one of the factors we considered. The project went VERY WELL! We dealt with 3 people from Bordner's during the project. Jeff was the person who came out and gave us the estimate. He was very knowledgeable and thorough and paid a lot of attention to details we might have missed Chris did our scheduling and he was very responsive to our needs and flexible. Rob was the project supervisor. Rob was wonderful. He came by every day and always answered our questions to our satisfaction. Rob was also available by cell and email. When we had   a phone problem, I called Rob and he was at the house within minutes, then had a service person come out. They spent over an hour locating the problem and trying to resolve it before calling the phone company. The issue was fixed by the phone company. We also had a problem with the Sherwin-Willimas paint store that had nothing to do with Bordner's. In fact, had it not been for the painters who were contracted by Bordner's, it would have been much worse!   All three of the men we dealt with from Bordner's were very professional and customer-service oriented. I can honestly say they made us feel like we were the only project they had to do, which, I am sure, was not the case! All of the work crew on the siding project worked hard every day and the project went as quickly as I think it could and still be done carefully and correctly. The lead person on the project crew was a man named Caesar and he was responsive to any questions I had as well as to anything Rob The painting was done by C&R painting (as a subcontractor for Bordner's) and I can't say enough good things about them. Monika and Remy were so progressional and clearly very experienced. Monika was the one that caught the error by the Sherwin-Williams paint store and got that corrected. Monika has a great eye for detail and gave us excellent suggestions about painting the trim and placing our house numbers. They were kind enough to put up the new house numbers as well as new outside lights. They were also very accommodating (as was Bordner's) when we added a couple of small painting jobs that we had not thought about before (our front door and the railings along the front steps). As our project concluded, we took pictures of anything we had questions about and made a "punch list" of these items and shared them with Rob. He was very glad to have this and everything on that list was addressed in a timely manner and to our satisfaction.  Projects such as this are a big undertaking and, of course, a huge expense. I would tell anyone considering such a project like this to (of course) get 3 or 4 estimates from reputable companies before deciding which one would best meet your needs. I have no hesitation in recommending Bordner's as one of the companies you should talk with and seriously consider.  Once you have chosen your company, I really think a key thing in making your project smooth and successful is communication. Try to think about the details ahead of time and communicate your needs. Use pictures. Use the "punch list" BEFORE the project is concluded. I found the people I dealt with at Bordner's to be very appreciative of my communications and feel they also were great communicators with me. I have had a follow-up communication from Jeff, the man who did our estimate, and I am looking forward to having him come out to see the finished result!

Mike responded to my request for a quote in fantastic time. Once I hired him, he was able to do the work earlier than we thought. We ran into an unanticipated problem with wood rot under the 2nd floor window and Mike gave me a fair price to fix the effected area. Finished the project in less than a day. Very happy with work.
