Recent Review: excellent. Steve was very conscientious about his work. We had a couple of areas on our driveway that had not dried completely from recent rains and he was concerned about sealing these areas. He sealed the areas that were dry, then came back a week later to seal the other areas. During that week between sealings, he kept me posted about potential rain and how it would affect his work. Work was clean/tidy - no problems with sealer on tie walls, etc.
Recent Review: Fantastic! They had to break up existing asphalt and haul away. Completed the job in one day which included waiting on the city to inspect the work that would touch city street. They made sure that the water would drain to two existing drain pipes by our garage. Which we verified at the first downpour. I couldn't be more impressed at how tidy a job they did considering the heavy equipment and the material that they work with. Very professional group of guys would hire them again in a minute.
Recent Review: The job was completed on time, even though we delayed twice, the owner worked with us. His crew were professional and did a great job and cleaned up afterwards. Owner was on site for the job and he worked hard also. They replaced an old Asphalt driveway, which was an oversized two car driveway. It took them two day from start to finish and we were very pleased with the contractor. We would recommend them!

Recent Review: I am so pleased we selected Big City Asphalt to do our driveway. After getting a few bids we selected Big City their bid was competitive but the professionalism show by Adam sealed the deal. He took time to answer all our questions. Now that the driveway is complete I am so glad we chose them. The driveway looks great and their attention to detail phenomenal. I would highly recommend them and know you will not be disappointed. Recent Review: I got three estimates from different people and he was the best one. It turned out real nice. One guy we got an estimate from wanted $4,000 and the other one wanted $2,700, but this guy knew exactly what to do. He came and looked at it and told me that he was going to tear the whole thing out. He was only here for about 3 1/2 hours. It was a real nice price and I thought it was great. He was right on time and was here exactly when he said he was going to be here. He owns his own company and all his employees had their own t-shirts with his name on it and everything.
It went well. All work done while I was out of town. Excellent work! Would have liked a better cleanup job with less debris being left behind on the lawn. Other than that looks great!

FAsphalt Paving Co
The neighbors were getting their driveway repaved and with the equipment next door I reached out for a bid. The owner John was nice and gave me a reasonable price. He performed the work the next day. I trusted him because like me, he had a large family and was Christian. Something seemed "off" when he asked for payment in full before the work was completely finished. It was 4th of July weekend and he sited having to leave to visit an ailing mother-in-law. He promised if we were unsatisfied with anything he would make it right. Okay... I paid. After he left, the workers ran out of gas in the roller. They waited about 20 minutes for more gas while my driveway and pad cooled. All said and done, I was not happy. The pad was never smooth. There was some boot marks and ridges along the house. The asphalt along one of the steeper edges stuffed off into the dirt. I called but John said it needed to cure and scuff marks were normal. Fast forward two months later, we are having issues with soft asphalt. Our garbage can sank and left ridges. We wheeled a castor card with a heavy box on it. It sank. We had a dresser sitting on it overnight until I could bring it inside. The feet sank. AP, or Asphalt Paving we're back in my neighborhood. I talked to the brother who also runs the company. He heard my complaint. He said they would seal my driveway for me and he would be over to see it in a few. He never came. I saw him again the following day. He said he saw it and would have his guys out the next morning. Guess what? They never came and packed up and we're out of my neighborhood. I looked them up before I hired them but could not find a review. I hate leaving bad reviews, but they are dishonest and I want to warn others. This is hearsay, but I heard they had to come back to fix a different driveway several times. Wish they would fix mine... I supposedly have a 1 year warranty.

ACREVE COEUR PAVING
Creve Coeur Paving removed an existing driveway/parking pad, an inadequate gravel base beneath the asphalt, and found and removed tree roots that were causing the driveway surface to heave and crack. They installed a commercial grade PVC pipe drainage system along the back edge of a patio adjoining our driveway parking pad, as well as beneath the parking pad area, they spread a new rock base for the parking pad and driveway and paved the entire area. They will return in the fall of 2014 to inspect and seal the asphalt. The entire project went very well for us. Rich provided a fair estimate and did his best to keep to his proposed schedule. Due to weather issues, our project was delayed a few days, but once started was completed in a timely manner. CCP's employees were all courteous, efficient and helpful with suggestions as they performed their work. Although not the least expensive bidder, we chose Creve Coeur Paving based on their experience, capability and expertise dealing with the drainage issues we have with our property.

We were pleased with the quality of work and the price. The crew was prompt and the job well done. Only concern was that a large oil spill was left on our concrete sidewalk, but this was easily cleaned away. Overall, good value for the money.

ACOPE & SONS ASPHALT
He was right on time for the estimate. My original plan was to pave 2 separate areas. I changed my mind and changed it to only one of those areas. When I called for an updated estimate, he gave me a price for the smaller area, when I actually wanted the larger area done. When he realized his mistake , he told me that he would stand by his incorrect estimate. The job included removing a border of railroad ties, which he hauled away, and removing several large rocks which he stacked for me. The job was done on time, on budget and looks great. Hire them !

ARAM DRIVEWAY SEALING
RAM provided a prompt and competitive bid. There was a discount for scheduling the work on a day when they were already in the area. The crew was professional, did quality work, and was done in around an hour for a large (270’ long) drive. The company said they did not fix/fill cracks. At first this disappointed me, but I bought liquid and troweled filler at Lowe’s for <$40 and did it myself in a couple of hours. Since it takes 1-2 days to dry, I guess I understand why they said they did not fix/fill cracks. Plus it was cheaper and not that hard. Highly recommend as they were quick (1 hr) and saved me a lot of mess and probably a 1/2 day work at least. $250 for materials vs only $420 for them to do it and provide better sealant than I could provide.

DRAM DRIVEWAY SEALING
On the day scheduled for the work, the crew arrived on-time, and I spoke with them. Nice guys; seemed like everything was moving forward, so I went inside to get ready to go to work. Thirty minutes later, the crew left before doing any sealing work, and I got a voicemail message that there was a dog in my driveway and that they would come back later. I called the office to learn more, as I saw no dog in my driveway during the time the crew was at my house. I don't own a dog, and the only dog around is a neighbor's dog behind a fence. The main office couldn't tell me anything more about what the crew was concerned about, but they said the crew would come by in the afternoon to do the work. In the afternoon, I received another message that the crew could not do the work because of a dog in the driveway and that the work would need to be done another day. I called the office to find out more. The person in the office told me that she only had notes and could not tell me what the crew had seen. I explained that I wanted to understand more so that I could try to remedy the situation, as the only dog I knew of near my house was behind a fence. She told me that her crew said that there was a dog in the driveway, and that I would need to "handle it" before the work could be done. I suggested that I wouldn't know what to do to handle it if she couldn't give me more information, which she said she couldn't give me. So I told her I would need to cancel the service and asked her to refund my money. She agreed to refund the money and hung up on me. I appreciate the agreement to refund the money, but I am genuinely confused about how I should have handled this any differently. I couldn't get any information to remedy what the crews thought was a problem, and without that information, we were going to just do the same song and dance over and over again.
