'Andy' was as professional and efficient as are all of the technicians from Chapman. He checked: all controls, heat exchanger, cleaned/adjusted tstat, operation, wiring, inspected flue/PVC/flue temp, flue CO ppm, Flue oxygen %, tested for gas leaks, the burners, gas valve, thermocouple, electrical connections/contacts, orifice, saddle valve, cycle humidifier, return drop, blower, changed the filter. At one point Andy was concerned about something and he called a manager to run it by him - and Andy altered what he did based on the advice given. All of this was completed in a very reasonable amount of time and with total concentration. The fee would have been $32.00 however we always have a Chapman magnet on our refrigerator, and (we didn't know this, but it was a nice surprise!) we received a $10 discount for displaying the magnet! Plus we received our $5 Comfort Club discount. So the final total for all of this was only $17.00. We had, in the past, a furnace humidifier installed by a different company (Smith Heating and Cooling). It worked the first year but would not work the second. When we called Smith back in, their technician tried to check it out but found that the original tech had installed the unit too close to our wall and so the unit could not be opened to get the filter out. The entire unit was taken off and the new tech decided to put it back on upside down. We questioned this but were promised it would be fine. Which it was not and we wound up with a flooded furnace floor. Being fed up, we called in Chapman Heating and Air Conditioning based on a glowing reference from a family member. We told them to come ready with THEIR options for a humidifier system. They came in, and were very professional in that while they could easily have made jokes or cutting remarks about what Smith had done they simply explained why the unit wasn't working and that they recommended a particular unit for our specific furnace set up. But they did not push anything on us. Just gave us the information and told us to call them if we decided to go with their recommendation. And we did. It has been a relief to have a properly functioning system ever since. And we can ask them about future furnace systems (as ours will need replacing within the next few years), and receive very informative options - but again, no pushing. We would highly recommend Chapman Heating and Air Conditioning to anyone. And ask them about the Comfort Club - it really is a great way to save and to have a safety net for your heating/air conditioning needs.
