Recent Review: Aaron, the owner and provider, has done several projects for us in this 20 year old condominium we moved into in June 2014. He is quick but not rushed, very able and prepared for jobs, and very pleasant to have in our home.

Recent Review: They did a very good job and had a helper vacuuming up the dust as he sanded. This really helped reduce the amount of dust created when sanding the drywall. They arrived exactly when they said they would and finished in about the time they said it would take (3 days, 1 to fix, 1 to sand and touch up, 1 to paint). They ended up charging slightly less than their original quote when the painting ended up being easier than expected.

Recent Review: He was recommended by my mother as he'd done some work for her. I needed someone to quickly install new kitchen lighting. (The large old fixture was already removed.) He was able to come and do the work w/o much notice so I REALLY appreciated that. I had other lighting and ceiling fan repairs and replacements that also needed to be done and he came back on a later date to complete the other work. He also replaced a kitchen disposal for me. He was pleasant and easy to work with. I didn't get estimates but I trust that his prices were reasonable. I do plan to have him back to do other misc repairs. He also made suggestions regarding some other work that I need to have done in the future to the ceiling of a covered deck. I will most likely ask him to do the work when I decide to get it repaired. I did have to clean up after his work with sheet rock, etc. but I prefer to do that myself when possible rather than pay someone more for the time it takes to do so.

Recent Review: Matt had one of his workers install a ceiling fan in the bedroom.  I had already purchased the ceiling and Matt quoted me over the phone what the charge would be.  The handyman arrived on the date and time we agreed to and took about an hour to complete the service.  Matt's handyman worked clean and and worked quickly to complete the job.  Matt's service completed what I asked and it was done right.  I have not had a single problem with the fan since it was installed.

Recent Review: This was around move-in/move-out time in a college town, so the punctuality issue needs to be considered with a grain of salt.  Yes, they were much later than I anticipated, but Ed kept me informed of the delays as they happened. The work itself was mostly fine.  The workman could have cleaned up a bit more.  I kept finding spots of the texturizing compound around my living room for weeks.  Ed was made aware of this, as I found the bulk of the problem when he came by a little bit after the work was completed.  He apologized & helped me clean what we found then.  It wipes right off, but I shouldn't have to do so.  The repair to the living room ceiling looks nice.  In fact, it looks better than it did before the water damage. The painting in the bedroom leaves a bit to be desired.  I can still see the discolored areas.  In Ed's defense, he did warn me that it wouldn't be a perfect match and I have not contacted him about touching it up.

Recent Review: Jay did a great job in all areas. We had some concrete/foundation work done earlier in the year but were left with a pretty big crack in the ceiling and wall from some of the foundation problems. He patched those up and the textured ceiling looks great. Also fixed a door frame that was separating from the drywall.  Finding the light fixtures to replace the existing ones took some time as one of them was already wired to a can converter and took the time to make sure that both of the replacement fixtures would be aesthetically  pleasing. He was able to find a plate that helped transition the look of the new fixture that had a much smaller base than the hole in the ceiling. The price was for labor on the electrical work, and labor and supplies on the drywall work.

FMcQuiston Construction
I employed Adam McQuiston to repair drywall/ceiling issues in my home along with numerous other projects and the quality of work was embarrassing.  I had to hire a professional to repair the issues he created and to also complete the other jobs he did not return to complete.  He then hounded me for months to pay him for the less than impressive work - which I declined to do so as it cost me quite a bit to pay someone to fix his mess. I also found out later when I hired someone to install my fireplace mantel (which was one of the jobs that he did not complete) that the drywall he installed was not even as there's a 1/2 inch gap at the back of the mantel where it should meet the wall.  I have pictures of both the ceiling, crack and mantel issues and will post in the next couple days. As far a customer service goes, he continually tried to push me to purchase Arbonne products which his wife sells, and to have a party or become a consultant myself.  He was also doing some work at my fiance's business and continually mixed the personal and business jobs together.  He asked me to decrease the amount I owed him so he would not have to pay my fiance for a job he hired him for (totally unrelated to my home repairs). He pushed on numerous occasions for my fiancé to hire his wife to do office work in front of her and myself while she was assisting with the painting at the business. Finally, the people he worked with previously (at a well known local business) had informed me that he would get in over his head with projects and offer quotes that were extremely low and charge quite a bit more later and/or not know what he was doing.  I originally dismissed this as coworkers who were envious of Adam going out on his own but unfortunately I learned the hard way.  He had quoted me for a project and wound up asking for quite a bit over his quote as he even admitted that he didn't realize the extent of the work it would take to complete the project and that he had not looked closely enough at what he would be doing.  Had I known this ahead of time I would have quoted it out to others. He surveyed the ceiling fan to see what was the matter, then proceeded to get new pieces and replaced the worn out parts.

should've saved the money and done it ourselves - I had hoped that by hiring someone else to make the repair that it would look seamless and blend into the existing paint and texture. instead, you could still see the drywall tape and the paint doesn't match. definitely will never hire again.

Frank was recommended to me by a coworker. He came by to give me an estimate for the required services and was able to complete the work the next day. He emailed me a clear itemized estimate for the services I needed. He was polite and professional at all times during our interactions. He was very honest about the services he was able to provide and the expected outcomes. He appeared to take pride in his work and pay attention to details. I would highly recommend Turner Construction and Remodeling.

Ed - was very straight forward and no nonsense. This was an hourly deal 4 hours for $ !99.00 - However because Ed was going bring an extra it was going to be 2 hours - for two guys - Ed said things get done twice as fast ( I doubted that )..but I wanted to get this done as we are putting our home on the market so I said fine. The guys showed up and started the job I watched them work and the second guy turned out to be a "runner" someone to stand there - hold things- and get things from the truck- I suggested that the "runner" maybe could do another task while Ed put up the lights. After all he was counted as a man hour in the deal - Ed was abrupt and said that is how he worked and if I liked he could pack up his stuff and leave - no charge. I took him up on that as he did not appear to me to want to do the work anyway. I can't say that he wasn't fair with me -- but I have two lighting fixtures on the floor - and I will have to schedule someone else to this. He said that Anggie list would arrange for a complete refund

Jay immediately responded to my call.   He came within a few days to provide the estimate (delay was due to my schedule) and came the following week to perform the service.  He was right on time each of the 3 days he worked and performed the work very quickly.  We are very pleased with the work and most of all were impressed that Jay offered alternatives to fixing problems which saved us money from his initial estimate.  He also provided suggestions to help our upcoming painting come out better.  He will be at the top of our list for future contractor needs.
