Reviews in Columbia to Install Weather Stripping

AHandy-Matt LLC
It was fantastic. The Handy-Matt team showed up right on time and I briefly gave a description of some heavy duty locks I wanted to have put on some doors for added security and to keep my kids from being able to get out to the pool, as well as some deadbolts on some other doors. I also needed some work done to fix a cabinet door and some weather stripping.  I then left for work and when I came back, everything had been done exactly how I wanted and exceeded my expectations. They went to the store for the supplies and everything. I was absolutely thrilled. Thank you so much to Matt and his team!!

ANemow Insulation
NEMOW is a truly excellent company. They were all top-notch professionals. They did exactly what they said they would do. Their estimate was exact. They were courteous and professional. Erik came for pre and post tests. He was an amazing and knowledgeable young man. He provided technical explanations of the testing and how NEMOW's work would address issues and improve energy efficiency. More importantly, he gave me advise on what I could do: weather stripping, calking, sealing outlets, insulating attic fan vents...He also told me about the rebates I could get and helped me fill the forms (I received rebates of $675 from the City of Columbia and $250 from Ameren) The installation crew was just as amazing. Tony and Kenny called before they came, asking if they could come early. They worked hard, explained what they were doing and exceeded my expectations for the installation. They were always concerned about making a mess... and cleaned up in their areas after the work was done. Kelly coordinated all of this from their office -- and was always helpful. I can't say enough good about NEMOW, the quality of their work and the professionalism of their people.

CUNCLE JOHN'S HANDYMAN SERVICE
Uncle John was recommended by friends. He seemed to be friendly and knowledgeable, I had a few small repairs, which he estimated at about $170 for no more than 4 hours of work. He did not give me a written estimate but for the small amount and given that my friends have been using him on a regular basis and considered him honest, I trusted him and not asked for one. He showed up on time. He couldn't install weather stripping in two doors because they were sort of special order, so he finished all works in about a hour and a half. He also answered several phone talks, and talked for at least 15 minutes. Another half hour was spent in estimating a possible future project (which should be free, according to his advertising). But I can grant that 1/2 hr in saying that he started working for me when he also went to the store to get material. So, for about 2 hour works, weather stripping, which was not used, hence returned, and a dimer, I was charged $220. He did not provide receipt of itemized amount. For the larger work that I asked him to estimate, he talked about $1,200. I asked then to send me a written copy of the estimate and also a copy of the receipt for the works done. Two days later I emailed him with the same request. A week has passed and I haven't received a written estimate nor the receipt yet. The work he did was fine, but was very simple stuff. However, he did not clean up at all. For the larger project that I asked him to estimate (powerwashing, repainting and fixing deck, stairs, and rail), I wasn't particularly impressed with his possible expertise. Mostly, any professional worker should provide written estimates, and mostly itemized receipt. My friends confirmed that he does not provide receipts too, which makes me wonder about him paying his taxes. My "D" for professionalism and prices regards this aspect, no written estimate and no receipt. I'll call him tomorrow and I'll update this review if there's anything new. In the meantime, I got different estimates and it seemed I found cheaper prices with better professionalism and expertise.

AHandy-Matt LLC
Matt had one of his workers install a ceiling fan in the bedroom.  I had already purchased the ceiling and Matt quoted me over the phone what the charge would be.  The handyman arrived on the date and time we agreed to and took about an hour to complete the service.  Matt's handyman worked clean and and worked quickly to complete the job.  Matt's service completed what I asked and it was done right.  I have not had a single problem with the fan since it was installed.

They were professional and prompt. They were friendly and courteous. I have used them several times for handyman work and plan to use them again. They always send the same guy and I like that.

Scheduled an appointment but after several attempts found them to be a bit unprofessional.  They never showed up to give us an estimate, so we found someone else.
