Dsecription: 1. We called Mr Distler in late December to have our bathtub reglazed. We found him on google with a coupon from midmohotdeals.com for 10% off tub glazing. This coupon had his name, address and number and an expiry date of 4/30/16. We arranged for it to be done on Tuesday 1/12/16. When he finished and we went to pay him, he refused to honor the coupon and claimed he hadn't used midmohotdeals.com in about 10 years and he didn't know that coupon was still on there. I have emailed midmohotdeals.com to see whether he still has a contract to run that coupon and can attach that info when it arrives. Mr. Distler finally reduced the bill to $400 after a long discussion. 2. On 1/15/16 we had a plumber in to work on the drain and saw the refinish work had numerous bubbling in it. On calling Mr. Distler he said it would have to be next week and when he was asked to come back today he very rudely said no one was going to tell him what to do and hung up. Resolution Desired:We would like Mr Distler to pay what it will cost to have his poor quality work repaired by another company.

Master Tech Plumbing had someone out the same day. He said the leakage was caused by deteriorating grout and caulking. He stayed about 10 minutes and charged $55.00 for a service call. We replaced grout and caulking. The leaking continued. Finally called in a real plumber who quickly discovered the washer in the hot water tap needed to be replaced. He replaced it and no more leaks. Seems a simple diagnosis that was apparently beyond MasterTech's level of expertise.

Seth came out, understood the problem immediately, and did a great job resolving it. He paid attention to details, made sure things were adjusted how I would like them, improved some other issues along the way, covered the hole with an access panel, and cleaned up the area before he left. He was also a pleasure to work with.

The old fiberglass shower was small and the space available for the remodel was tight. Aarow's owner (Jake) was essential in the design of the new shower. He is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. The remodel took longer than expected because of issues with the existing plumbing and concrete slab. Jake and Jeremy identified problems, came up with solutions, modified the plans and got it done. I am very pleased with the finished product. The shower is very accessible, easy to keep clean, and the Kohler fixtures are wonderful. Just what I wanted. The door fits perfectly. They also replaced the old tile surrounding the existing tub with subway tile to match the shower. It looks great. Jeremy used the old bypass shower door (which was still in good shape) to replace one in another bathroom. I was very pleased that he would take the time to do that for me.

DMr Rooter Plumbing of Columbia Missouri
We contact Mr. Rooter for a bid for the work above. They sent out a very nice young man to see what we wanted done and then told us we'd have a bid in a couple of days. Didn't hear back from them for over a week so I contacted them by phone. Said they'd get the bid right to us and I gave them my e-mail address. Still did not get a bid back so contacted them through their web site and finally got a bid with the excuse they didn't have the correct e-mail address. Bid was for $1800 to complete all work unless something unforeseen was found and came from Johnson Plumbing. I checked the address on the estimate and it was the same as Mr. Rooter so I assumed it was Mr. Rooter. We had used them before and were impressed. Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed this time. Finally scheduled. Plumbers were to arrive first thing on September 11th. Finally arrived about 9:30 a.m. Two guys came, one stayed about 1 hour and then left to meet Bill Johnson. The other worked for a while longer and then sat in our front yard from over an hour waiting for the other plumber. Finally both got back to work about 1 p.m. but left about 3:30 p.m. because they did not have the necessary plumbing parts to keep working. Came back next day arriving about 9:30. Both worked until 3:30 p.m. but had to leave to go pick up paychecks. One plumber came back for a few hours later in the day. Said job was done. We had decided not to have them set the toilet or the vanity in the master bathroom as we still had drywall work to do. Had to call them back a few days later when we went to put the shower head on the main bath as they had left out washers and water would not stop running even with water handle shut off. Received invoice for $2400. $1200 in labor for original bid and additional $280 in labor for "unforeseen" items. Materials from original bid were $600 with additional $320 for unforeseen items. I requested an itemized list of materials which Bill Johnson refused to provide. Asked for the hourly rate which he provided to me at $40 per hour. The plumbers were here for a total of 22.5 hours which would amount to $900 in labor but he's charging me $1480 in labor. Have no idea how they might have used $920 in materials to run water and sewer lines for a bathroom that was immediately next to our current bathroom. In addition when we went to install our master bath vanity, they had installed the water lines backwards - the hot is on the right and the cold is on the left. I am extremely disappointed with Mr. Rooter and Johnson Plumbing. Beware!

I called MasterTech plumbing to install two new Kohler one piece toilets. All they had to do was to disconnect the water line to the toilet, take off two small nuts holding the toilet down, lift the toilet up and carry it out, remove the wax seal, install a new $5.00 wax seal, set the new toilet down, tighten the two bolts and reconnect the water line. Thats all!! Nothing else to do as it was a new one piece toilet. The job should take about twenty minutes, two toilets forty minutes. At the most sixty minutes. His bid ( invoice # 22629 06/21/11 ) was $696.22 to install two toilets. $348.11 each. A rip-off. The dictionary says a rip-off is a fraud or swindle, something that is grossly overpriced. This was over priced. If you need a plumber call three for a bid for safety. I called Mr. Rooter and they charged me $358.82 to install two toilets. $179.41 each. MasterTech also wanted $239.70 to fix a dripping bathtub faucet. Another rip-off. This house is 10 years old with no plumbing problems. I had to give him $55.00 for this and he was here about 10 minutes. I'm 77 and all I can say is seniors look out and get bids from more than one companies.

Recent Review: Ryan was responsive and punctual. His pricing was competitive and fair compared to other bathtub resurfacing bids. He was able to give a bid over text when provided pictures, something I appreciated as a time saver. He answered all my questions about the job and was pleasant to work with. He kept up communication during his time working and let me know every issue that came up. I value a thorough job and Ryan provided that. He made an old ugly bathtub look brand new! I would hire him again.
