Recent Review: The measure of a company is not how they treat you when things go well, but how they treat you when things go bad. And things went really bad (initially) which our Hot Tub. In October, we decided to purchase a floor model hot tub from Host Springs. The sales staff was friendly and knowledgeable and confident that the floor model would not have any problems. They gave us a great discount on the hot tub because a) it was a floor model and b) we were not going to finance and pay with cash. We paid the deposit and scheduled the delivery. When the hot tub was delivered, they showed up exactly on time. The installation crew was courteous and professional, however the floor model hot tub was not in good working order. After they installed the hot tub and the electrician hooked up the electrical, they started to fill the tub with water. That's when things went wrong. After about 15 minutes, they noticed water coming out of the hot tub. They immediately told us about the situation, and drained the tub. From there, they called the office in La Crosse to let them know about the situation. We were told that we would be getting a brand new hot tub from the factory and asked what we wanted to do. Since we had a family gathering scheduled for that weekend, we said we would really like to see if we can fix the existing hot tub. Hot Springs didn't want us to have a broken tub or a 'fixed' tub, they wanted us to have the perfect hot tub and really only wanted to get a new one from the factory, but also understood our desire to use the hot tub over the weekend. So, they had the installers get some caulk and try to find and fix the leak. They were able to fix the leak so water was draining at the rate of about an inch every few hours. That was slow enough that we could fill and heat the hot tub for a short period of time and gave us the opportunity to use it for our gathering. About a week later, we called Hot Springs to find out the status of our replacement tub. It turns out that the regional manger in charge of ordering the replacement / warranty tubs was at training and had not finished the paper work to get our replacement ordered. Hot Springs wan't going to put up with that, so they were able to add a new Stereo system to our factory ordered hot tub at no charge! We eventually got the hot tub (new from the factory) at a great price (same floor model price) with a free upgrade and extra chemicals and have been using it without any problems ever since. Hot Springs went out of their way to make sure they did us right. They are a great example of how to fix a situation even when the scenario is dire. They stood behind their product, provided excellent service, and have been a great business to work with. I gave a 'C' on quality because the floor model was broken, but the new model would deserve an 'A' I gave a 'B' on responsiveness because the regional rep was gone for a week. Overall A!

Recent Review: Overall they are an experienced and knowledgeable company. After having used other spa repair companies in the past, they far exceed expectations. Joe was great! He knew the trouble I had with a previous company, came in and fixed my problem and also fixed other issues he saw that he felt he had to fix as well. Would recommend them to anyone that needs repair on their hot tub. Many other companies will come in and "fix" the issue and leave, only to have the problem not fixed. McFarland not only fixes the issue but will double check to make sure it's done properly

Recent Review: Paul's estimate was the same as the final bill. Communication with Connie was easy, accurate, and timely. Ty and Mike did the jobs quickly and professionally. They cleaned up after themselves and did an outstanding job for us on the following items: Re-install toilet after tiling raised floor ~1/2 in. Working in tight quarters they installed new fixtures on Jacuzzi. We are very please and would recommend them to anyone looking for quality workmanship.

Recent Review: Jim Siebenaler Construction is absolutely the best!  This is the second large project Jim has done for us.  He previously replaced our front porch.  This time, we gutted the  main floor bathroom. Jim is reliable, professional, a perfectionist about his work, a good listener, and does everything in his power to please the customer.  Jim and his crew installed new walls, tub, toilet, vanity, fixtures, plumbing, electrical, lighting, tile floor, subway tile shower stall, subway tile up to chair rail height, and  a custom shower door.  Everyone who worked on the bathroom was top-notch. The entire process took less than two weeks! The space is small, but Jim created a beautiful built-in shelf that is made of subway tile and glass shelves.  There is a white subway tiled shower stall (tub to ceiling)  with two lines of black pencil tile accent that is one of my favorite touches  in the room along with the built-in shelves.  Jim and his crew turned a worn-out bathroom  that had a stained tub surround, no fixed shower, and peeling wallpaper into a spa-like room that has an Art Deco feel.  The new bathroom matches our 1920's house perfectly. We highly recommend Jim Siebenaler Construction.

FThatcher Pool & Spas
At one point I was convinced that this was a bad purchase decision - however now that our spa has been installed - I am much happier with the product.  Working with Thatcher was bittersweet.  The sales and receptionists are very friendly and happy.  What caused most of the frustration was the timeline from order to delivery to installation and setup .  In May 2013 we decided to purchase a spa for our handicapped son to help him with his therapy.  We picked out a spa and they quoted us a price.  We needed to ensure we could swing the purchase -- so we went home to think.  The next day we went back into the store and asked for the person we had originally worked with.  Because he wasn't in the store - we started to work with a new salesperson.  Upon doing so - the price jumped up $2500 when he started writing up the invoice.  We informed him of the price we had been quoted.  He said we'd need to show them the quote.  We went home and returned the following day with the quote the original sales person had noted.  At that time we placed 1/2 down and was told it would take 2 weeks to deliver upon ordering.  At the end of May my check cleared and so we were under the impression that the spa was indeed ordered. Fast forward 2 month.  In July we were growing concerned that we still not heard from Thatcher to tell us our spa was in.  Shortly after the July 4th holiday, we contacted them.  They told us it would be 2 weeks before they would deliver it as it still was not ordered.   Another two weeks later -- we had not heard from them, so called them again.  Finally they called us and arranged a setup time for August 3rd.  They came out in the afternoon and dropped off the tub.  They did not bring anything with them to level the tub or fill it.  It was supposed to be setup, leveled on that day.  Because they did not bring the proper supplies - it was not setup at all.  Just dropped off.   They said they'd be back Monday or Tuesday of that week to level and fill the tub.  Since we were coordinating with our electrician -- we told them we'd confirm with them when the electrician could be there to wire the tub. We arranged to have the electrician at our house on Tuesday, August 6th and called Thatcher to arrange setup.  They said that they could not come out until later this week.  I called back to complain - and they told us they''d have someone at our house at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 7th.  We then REARRANGED again with our electrician to be at our house on the 7th.  Someone from Thatcher NEVER showed up at all.  They did not call to tell us that they would not be there.  We called to ask them about not showing up.  They would not call back.  Thy finally scheduled to come out on the 10th to do the installation -- but then came a day earlier on the 9th and got everything setup.  In the end it all worked out -- and our spa is installed.  We have been using it nearly daily for the past week and it is a high quality product.  I wish the process would have been a little less stressful.  But ultimately we are happy with the product.

DSuperior Mechanical
From the start we found small problems that are mostly workmanship issues. The master bathroom jacuzzi tub didn't work. The plumber didn't hook up the jets and they fixed that without a problem. Since then we found sinks hooked up improperly and the water heaters valve issues. I only called once to ask for help as my father is a plumber that lives in another state and would help do the fixes when in town on visits. The one time I called they claimed they did the work properly and the manager was quite rude. The funny thing is that the installation instructions were still hanging on the kitchen faucet so it was clear that the job was done incorrect. So nothing major, just poor overall workmanship.
