Recent Review: I was called in two months after the project started and told they had miscalculated and the project would cost far more than they had estimated due to their own error.   He wanted me to know I was getting a really good deal but I would have to use the $50,0000 wiggle room they had suggested I build into my loan for any upgrades or features I might find I wanted to add later, to cover it.   I had to work hard myself to find materials and substitute low-end products in order to meet the budget and still achieve the custom look I was promised.   Many of their estimated items and design elements presented to me were never completed such as the tile inlay in the floor to match my fireplace at the front door, custom cabinets, tile back splash in the kitchen, finished garage, etc.  The budget they had in place did not cover the items they promised and I had to pay extra just for basics and to get lower end items. The cement work on the porch and the garage is cracked and chipping.   The painters got paint all over my furniture and the new carpet. Until the bank stepped in, they tried to tell me that for $27,000 in cement work, I would not be getting a driveway or sidewalk required in my neighborhood.   Worst of all, is the unfinished roof that I didn't notice until winter when the the snow came in and drifted on the top on my freezer.  I couldn't understand where is was coming from, until my dad and fiancee just found the cause.  An improperly finished roof!!!!  When you close the garage door and shine a flashlight up, you can see a rectangular opening the size likely of a large candy bar, but hard to tell from the ground.  Unbelievable!!!

Reviews in Mankato to Build Carports

FYEAR ROUND COMFORT LLC
We began the process of purchasing a to-be-built home from Troy Donahue, the owner of Year Round Comfort. The price was great on the home we were purchasing, but the service we received was hugely disappointing. The builder rarely communicated with us throughout the process, and it was like pulling teeth trying to get any sort of response from him or his agents. He continuously made many promises regarding the building timeline that were never followed through on. After 4+ months of waiting for progress on our home, the only thing he had accomplished was breaking ground, and he still continued to promise that the home would be fully complete within the next month and a half after that. Our friends also informed us that their home was built by Troy as well, and they highly recommended that we do everything we could to get out of our purchase agreement. They also had a very disappointing experience with Troy and experienced the same lack of communication, timeline issues, as well as many costly problems on their house they were left to fix on their own. We did attempt to research the company and builder before purchasing the home, and could not find anything online relating to his building practices. I chose to write this review in order to inform others, as we were frustrated as buyers when we could not find any information or warnings in regards to way they he conducts business. I highly recommend you chose another builder for you home, one that will not make the process much more stressful and complicated than it needs to be.

CWILCON CONSTRUCTION INC
At first we were satisfied with there work however we didn't know what we do now after finishing our basement and how many corners they cut.  It wasn't shady work but lazy work.  We had to rewire and plumb so many things downstairs just to start finishing our basement.  It cost hundreds extra to move plumbing and wiring.  Somethings we didn't know that were code but as the basement was getting finshed we found out they some how got those things by the inspectors.  My total bill for extra work and labor that they should have installed right away was over $5,000.  I apparently paid for these things but never got them.  The state says i need these things but i never got them.  I have gone with everyone different for finishing my house and all have said "Wilcon buit this didn't they?" Not my reccommendation.  His son Nic was very responsive to anything that i had after the house was built though.  I would only talk to him.

The design process was very cooperative.  The builder was able design the project and incorporate the owners desired elements.  The construction work craftsmanship was excellent and the materials used were top notch.  The porch is cedar construction and incorporates large screens, a ceiling fan, lighting and an open deck attached to the house.  The project was completed within a reasonable time frame and the job site was left clean. We couldn't be more pleased with the entire project and would recommend this building without hesitation.

AMastin & Mueller Remodeling
Quality of work and professionalism are excellent. They are staining and varnishing interior doors and trim too and have been very helpful with ideas to improve the rooms. They always check to make sure that they're doing things as per our spec and have even stayed during the evening to try to get the project done in a reasonable amount of time. They've also helped me find glitches with other contractors' work and fixed those while they were waiting for paint or sheet rock mud to dry (instead of just taking off for lunch or leaving for the day). Very friendly guys who seem to care a lot about the quality of the work. Galen and I talked and we both agree that quality builds relationships and repeat customers. As far as prices go, since they're subcontractors, I can't really separate out their cost at this time. I will definitely use these guys again if the need arises. Tidy Clean subcontractor on this project did the sheetrock work and re-set the electrical outlets too far into the wall to use the cover plates. I called Galen on Memorial Day to see if he could come out during the week and fix them. He came out that day - his holiday off work! - after stopping to pick up spacers and screws.  He didn't need to do that, but wanted it taken care of. How many contractors do you know that will give up a holiday morning off to do domething like this, and drive in from a neighboring town besides?  I don't know of any other who would.
