Reviews in Lafayette for Deck Builders
ALendt & Trebesch Construction
They were very professional and kept my yard clean of any debris and nails. None of the siding on the house was hurt in the removal process. Everything was cleaned up before starting on the new deck. They even verified that the new material was correct before continuing to build the new deck. They were very accomodating with some additional add-on's at the last minute and around my work scheduled. I have hired them for additional smaller jobs and all of their work has been on time within their original budget and excellent. I will definitely hire them again.

Great....good estimate, easy to reach contractor and responsive, excellent carpenters so easy to work with throughout, overall good experience. They do have other jobs that occasionally took them away but so pleased with the craftsmanship.

FFM Home & Patio Inc
Initially, all seemed to go fine. The decks were built on time and looked good at first. Then the lighted posts went out - not a big deal to us. We had an electrician come out and fix the errors in the wiring. What was most alarming was the poor quality of the construction in terms of my number one priority - SAFETY. The 2nd story deck was supported by three 6x6in posts. They were supposed to have been sunk in concrete. That was what we were told would happen (and what our contract said). HOWEVER, instead the posts were set on top of concrete block with no type of fixation. The result? When we dug around the posts one year later, we discovered that all three posts had shifted nearly completely off of the blocks and were mostly just hanging with no support (see photos). I feel sick every time I think about it now. What kind of professional deck builder would EVER do that? This appeared to have been an ill advised shortcut and could have cost lives. It's simply inexcusable.

The work started in November of 2011, with one man doing all the labor. He was very professional and has done excellent quality work. The project did take longer than originally anticipated for 3 reasons; weather, the construction worker has family concerns that required him leaving in the mid-afternoon each day and sometimes required him to be at home (this was not a problem for us, as we had no specific time-line to complete the job), and there was also about a week where he had to finish a previous job. Time was given after completion of the work for us to live with the deck for a couple of weeks before sending in the final payment. That was delayed as we were waiting for some paperwork from the contractor before finall payment was made. We were not pressured by the contractor at any time, and communication was generally good (i.e. we didn't have to call several times to find out information - our calls were responded to in a timely manner). Overall, we are wonderfully pleased with our new deck and porch flooring. It's a vast improvement in quality and appearance over what we had previously (which was also composite material that had warped, as well as the lap band pulling away from the house).

Very, very meticulous and made sure everything I wanted I got. If there was something I questioned or wanted differently they did it. I will recommend them and use them, again.

AJeremy Wagner Construction
I can't say enough good things about Jeremy and crew. Below are the good things off the top of my head: called and showed up when he said he was going to (this is unheard of when dealing with contractors) laid back and very trustworthy and professional offered lots of suggestions to steer us in the right direction pays attention to detail and craftsmanship delivered final result on time and on budget Overall it was a great experience and I'd hire him again without hesitation. I've already recommended him to co-workers and friends ;)

AABBA Roofing & Windows
My family lives all over the world. We planned a family reunion with 19 people at my lake house for this summer. One week prior to the reunion we discovered our deck was unsafe (pulling away from the house, improper support structure, and non-existent footers. We approached ABBA and another vendor and asked them to tear off, rebuild and expand our deck (total of 800 square feet and 20 feet of vertical drop - stairs) seven days before the start of the reunion. Not only did they turn the bid and provide a written guarantee that the deck would be finished in time for the reunion - They actually followed through and did it! The deck is beautiful and very well built. The team was very professional and respectful and I would definitely recommend ABBA to others. Probably the best thing I can say, is I've already signed another work order to build us a screen porch. Thanks for the great job guys!

Kerry was available during the winter to provide an estimate for the project. His estimate was much more reasonable then other estimates we received from builders in Crosslake. We planned to start the project in the spring however delays in other projects Kerry had put our construction into the summer. Kerry worked with us to make sure he understood the materials we wanted to use and make sure the design was what we expected. Once the project started, Kerry was prompt in arriving each morning and worked diligently every day until the project was complete. He cleaned up the worksite before he left each day. He was polite and easy to work with. We are pleased with the final result, it is exactly what we wanted.
