Recent Review: Shopping at Bachman's Lyndale is always a treat! One of the garden center employees was as knowledgeable or helpful as we would have like, but others were. The variety, quality and quantity of plant is amazing, and signage to educate about caring for plants helpful. Specifically - the problems with impatiens this year and treating with Copper Fungicide.

Recent Review: She does a very good work.  She will be coming Thursday to do some work.  The price depends on what kind of work she does.  She charges $300 for spring cleanup.  The service has been excellent.  It is a small company and woman-owned.  She has got a great group of people that comes in to pull all the weeds and put fresh bark on.  They pull out bushes if we need it done or re-establish new plants in the area.  They are very good.  We haven't compared the prices.

Recent Review: Tyler Grissman of Phillips Garden worked closely with us on the design and did a great job of listening to our needs and incorporating our ideas into the final design. The construction crew was great! They kept us informed as to the work schedule. They kept the work site clean throughout the project. They did a perfect cleanup at the end of the project. The new patio is beautiful and highly functional. We continue our relationship with Phillips Garden as we have contracted with them to do ongoing garden maintenance. The entire team was very professional, informative, answered all our questions, and were fun to work with. At the close of the project they provided us with a list of all the plantings. The drainage system works perfectly and solved all the problems we had been having. We are very, very happy with our new yard. Phillips Garden did a fantastic job on our project!

ADANIEL DEVEREAUX--LANDSCAPE GARDENER
DAN IS A MASTER GARDENER AND SHARES HIS KNOWLEDGE GENEROUSLY. HE WORKS LIKE A HORSE, IS INCREDIBLY NICE, INTERESTING, HONEST, PROMPT, GRACIOUS, POLITE AND INTELLIGENT. WE FEEL WE RECEIVED TWICE WHAT WE PAID FOR AND LOOK FORWARD TO OUR NEXT JOB WITH HIM.

ADANIEL DEVEREAUX--LANDSCAPE GARDENER
The cost does not reflect all of the work he has done because I kept having him return to do additional work.  Dan is extraordinarily pleasant, extremely hard working, and knowledgeable.  He is a master gardener, and his "day job" is  working as a gardener at the Minneapolis VA.  I am certain that I will hire him in the future.

AHome Sown Gardens LLC
Tami and her crew have been taking care of our gardens for several years and we feel like they're part of the family. Even our pets are delighted to see them.  I am handicapped and can no longer do garden work myself, but Tami does everything I would do and more.  It's wonderful to see my gardens evolve and become more beautiful every years.  Tami makes sure that everything is cleaned up before they leave and we don't even have to worry about disposal of  the weeds, trimmed branches, etc.,  I can't say enough about Home Sown Gardens.  I call Tami  my 'garden angel' because she appeared in my gardens when I needed her most.  She is indeed a master gardener and a wonderful friend.

AMJ'S DESIGNS & PLANTINGS
M.J. is a Washington County Master Gardener and she is very knowledgeable about plants. She also has an artist's eye for design. She charges $25.00 an hour, which seems very reasonable for the amount of work that she accomplishes in an hour. If you ask her to bring plants, she always picks plants in good condition. She has done routine maintenance for me each summer, usually coming about five or six times a summer. After she has deadheaded and weeded, the garden always looks 100% better than when I have done it. She works very efficiently and accomplishes a lot in one hour. She is always very personable and I have really enjoyed working with her.

ATANGLETOWN GARDENS LLC
People who walk past our property tell me that I have had a great job with the landscaping. I belong to their CSA programme. Overall the job was excellent and I had no problems at all. I am studying to be a master gardener; so it's not like I have no knowledge on this. They are very prompt and they come when they say they will. They cover the guarantee that they say they have. They are professional and punctual. Their price is comparable with other companies in price. I love the landscaper I worked with and her name is Roxanne. She is excellent. I will use them again if I had $25000 right now.

DDean Bjorkstrand Inc
We originally hired him to re-work our large garden that had become overgrown due to neglect as my husband and I both had debilitating illnesses in the last 2 years. He advertised as a Master Gardener. We contracted his company to come each week and take care of things with a big "blitz" in the beginning of the season to plant, move plants, etc.. As an afterthought,we asked him to re-do our front step to be more attractive with slate and to raise our existing stone walkway to make the step-up easier for handicap accessiblity They did the step nicely but in the process of re-doing the walkway, they dug up plants and left them with roots exposed for several weeks and never did plant most of them. The ones they planted were incorrectly planted too high with roots exposed, or too deep causing rot. His crew planted a few annuals without even separating 4-packs...clearly no experience. The plants that he moved died as he decided to move them in the heat of the day and he didn't trim them back to lessen the shock. As soon as the hard-scaping was done, he promplty dropped us. We originally contracted him for the gardening help in February to ensure that we had the help when we needed it. He just took the higher priced job and promptly dropped us and didn't do the gardening. He couldn't even call, he informed us by e-mail. He then had the nerve to ask, again by e-mail, if he could take pictures of his stone step project. I believe his crew plants only new plants as part of a hardscaping project but there are no gardening skills that one could rely upon. I had even paid him in advance for the whole summer in good faith and as another motivator, I thought. Funny thing, he didn't return our money for several weeks after he dropped us. I think he intended to follow through but bigger paying jobs probably lured him away. Not really good business practice to "go back on your word".

ALIVING SPACE LANDSCAPES
Scott is one of the most hardworking, friendly, honest and accommodating people I have the pleasure of knowing. He returns phone calls quickly; he shows up for jobs promptly and stays until they are finished. He never hesitates to change something if it is not to your liking (for eg., the height of a hedge). He is always polite and has a smile. He passes this work ethic on to his crew as well. Although not many people know this, Scott is a Master Landscaper and has a Master's Degree in Horticulture. He knows everything about plant materials, trees, pruning, and is an expert in the art of Japanese Bonzai trees/shrubs. Before moving to Minnesota he was a master gardener for one of the world's finest Japanese Gardens located in Portland Oregon. Scott does not work any harder for me because I am a regular customer. He has been this way since day one. This is just his nature. He really is a treasure and anyone would be lucky to have him for any landscaping job.

AMOLLY'S GARDENS
Molly arrived at the scheduled time and finished in about two hours. She removed weeds and grass from around shrubs and three flower gardens. She expanded one garden by removing some sod and covered that garden with mulch.
