Business Description: AllBrite Blinds is a local family-owned and operated Blind Sales, Blind Repair, Blind Cleaning, and Professional Window Cleaning Company. We are a Hunter Douglas Window Fashion Priority Dealer and Certified Professional Installer. We are a home-based business.
Recent Review: I have Hunter Douglas Duett blinds, with three cords each for raising and lowering, and the cords will break. I have now taken two blinds (in the last three years) to Blind Installation and Repair for restringing, and each time the blind has been repaired promptly and the latest one now runs more smoothly than when new. The company recommends that the blind be brought in (if you can get it down and put it back up yourself), otherwise travel distance and time must be charged, but it is well worth the trip. They have also been so good as to advise me about broken tassels (replace them) lengthening, and the actual mechanics of re-installation. (My blinds were not initially installed by Hunter Douglas, so some instructions were lacking.)
Recent Review: We hired Jason a couple of years ago for some repair work, and the experience was excellent in all catagories. This year we emailed and left phone messages (a total of 6) and received no response whatsoever. We can only assume he is no longer in business.
Recent Review: 1) All telephone calls were returned in a timely manner. 2) Great advice given. In example: a) repair job in bedroom was going to be $50 and I decided since that room is rarely used, not to go ahead with that minor repair. b) Brent advised that due to the age of my blinds, it was risky to clean them because they might not make it through the cleaning process. Decided not to clean as redecorating is in the future. c) Brent spent over an hour on what I had booked as a and quot;restringing joband quot; of the bathroom blinds. HE WOULD NOT CHARGE ME ANYTHING FOR HIS PROFESSIONAL WORK because, although he ended up correcting the previous work on the blinds, he said because it was not a restring job that he had to do, he felt he couldn't charge me. 3) Wow. Knowledgeable, professional, honest.
Laverne did a great job and a very low price since I did have an estimate and they wanted $100 per blind and he did all 3 for $75. The repair blind was found to be working for him and it worked for me and there was no charge on that. I would definitely recommend this service. He ultrasonic machines do a great job of cleaning and Laverne is easy to work with. It is like I have new blinds again and I did not have to do any work cleaning them myself.

ACourtesy Home Repair
We bought a sliding shower door from Home Depot and hired another handyman to install it. The guy did such a poor job with the frame installation and the sliding door that we had to call someone else to fix it. After checking out reviews on Angie's List, we decided to try Courtesy Home Repair. Scott came out initially to look at the job and tell us whether he could do it. After agreeing to do so, he came out a few weeks later and completed the work efficiently and effectively. We're no longer having any problems with the way the door slides. In addition, I have several blinds with broken tilt mechanisms. Scott advised how we could fix this on our own and where to find replacement parts on the internet. It turned out that this was a very easy job for us to do, and I really appreciated that he shared this info with us. I've been looking for a good handyman with fair prices for several years and am pleased to say we've found one. We'll definitely use Scott again for any and all jobs around the house. Highly recommended!

Jason did an excellent job. He asked for pictures ahead of time so he was familiar with the project . He did the research for what needed to be done and he had the parts for the repairs. He is very hard working, punctual, a good communicator, and wants to make sure you are satisfied with his work. I definitely would have Jason do more repair work in the future.

Ben was very professional, positive attitude, did a great deal of work in the short time he was here. Really a great example of great customer service. I'd definitely have him for more work and plan to in the future. Thanks for sending such a great employee, got a lot of things done that just were not getting done.

These blinds were 25 years old. I checked at the a department store in Rosedale, where I'd ordered them originally to see about repair, not being very hopeful because of their age. They gave me John's number. I called, left a message and got a return call the same evening. Helen Simmers said their price is the same no matter what the size of the blinds. If I would remove them and bring them into the department store in Rosedale (drapery deptartment), they pick up there once a week. The cost for the 1st blind is $25 and any additional are $15 each. If I couldn't remove them and bring them in, John could come to the house and removed them for $50 for the first one and $25 for any additional ones. I was able to take them into the department store. I still had the wands that had broken off the metal attachment. John matched the color of the cords and restrung them and replaced the metal attachment for the wand. It's like I have new blinds. The lady at the department store told me that John is an installer for them and used to be an authorized repairman. Now blind companies want the blinds returned to the factory for warranty repair work. I feel like I discovered a real treasure in John.

ANicely Dunn Handyman Service Inc
I've had Scott out to my house so many times I've lost count. He works extremely efficiently and competently and is a pleasure to have in my home. His business is called Nicely Dunn, but his tagline should read Dunn Right the First Time. His work is excellent!!! I'm sure I'll continue to use him again and again.

I PURCHASED A HOUSE WITH MORE THAN 30 CUSTOM BLINDS FROM 2 HEAVY SMOKERS. GOPHER STATE BLINDS PICKED UP MY BLINDS, CLEANED THEM, AND DELIVERED BACK TO MY DOORSTEP. THESE BLINDS LOOK LIKE NEW - WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SOME OF THE STRINGS THAT ARE STAINED BEYOND REPAIR. I COULD HAVE PAID TO HAVE THE BLINDS RE-STRUNG ($25), BUT DIDN'T FEEL THESE BLINDS WERE WORTH THE INVESTMENT. I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE AND THE BLINDS LOOK GREAT.

We contacted Daren Rupert about cleaning our blinds. He charges by the width of the blind. We were then able to measure our blinds and determine how much it would cost to have them cleaned. We have mini blinds and some pleated blinds. The pleated blinds were a little more expensive to have cleaned but we knew that in advance. The day of the cleaning Daren was here on time and did a great job. He does the work on site. The blinds are removed and taken to a trailer to be cleaned. The clean blinds are then put back. Daren and one other person cleaned all of our blinds in about two hours. The blinds were very dirty and discolored from cigarette smoke. Evidently the people who lived in the house before us had been smokers. The blinds are now clean and free of discoloration. We are very pleased with results.

BRent A Husband
I purchased an Angies list Big Deal and left a message to set up Handyman services. Stephen returned my call that evening and we set up an appointment. When he was 1/2 hour late for our appointment I called and to see if he was coming. He said he would be there soon, but did not show up for about an hour. I had my list of items, that needed fixing and Stephen was able to work through each item. The Big Deal was for 4 hours worth of services, but I had a lot of items needing repair and Stephen was their for eight hours and had accomplished all items on the list. I had neglected to purchase one new light fixture, so I had to have Stephen return. Once the new fixture arrived, I set up another appointment with Stephen. He did not show up for that appointment, and did not call until the following evening. We set up another appointment and Stephen was 1 hour late for that appointment. I believe Stephen did good work, but his timeliness leaves much to be desired.
