We had Old2Gold do half of our house in May. We were very disappointed in the results. The sanding was very poor quality. We had him refinish our old floors, and had him look at the defects in the floor before he started. He assured us these scratches and waves (where someone else has tried to sand and failed) would be no problem at all and would be totally sanded out. The scratches were not sanded out and the waves in the floor are still there, even after my husband asked him about them when they were still there after the first day of sanding. The air returns are wooden grates in the floor. He did nothing with those, so they were a different color and not the same level as the floor. In the entryway to the house, there is a step. The front lip of that step was never sanded. We had the dark stain on the floor sanded out and went with a natural color to the floor (per Randy's suggestion). So, now right as you enter the house, you see the front of that step in dark stain when the rest of the floor is a natural color. Also, he left dust *everywhere.* No plastic was put up, and his employees did not even do something as simple as close the door to a room not being sanded, so dust literally coated everything in the house. Also, he hit some of the trim on the stairs with the sander. The wood is stained dark, so it is very noticeable, about 6 inches from the stairs in 2 different places. He did not do anything try to repair that at all. And, to top everything off, we paid extra for a special, more durable finish. When he finished, we found that he had not used that finish, just his normal (much cheaper and less durable) finish, and only 2 coats, not the 3 that is standard (and had been talked about before the job). The 2nd coat of finish he put on was a glossy finish, when we had requested matte. And, the amount he had did not cover the whole area, so he left it about 2/3 done. So, parts of the floor were glossy and parts were matte. It looked awful. We had rest of the house done by a different contractor. The difference was night and day. Almost no dust at all left int he house. The sanding job was so nice the (very old, previously damaged) floors look perfect and like new. Even the color of the floors looked so much better because this contractor used the special finish we paid extra for. When we addressed the problems with Ronnie, he only talked about the cheap price we has been given and said he only promised us 2 coats of finish. He gave us two offers: he would buff and re-coat the floors, or we could deduct from his pay the cost to have the other person buff and re-coat the floors. We chose the 2nd option. The finish looks better, but of course, the 2nd contractor could not do anything about the poor sanding job without refinishing the whole floor, so we have to live with the poor sanding job. We would not recommend Old2Gold to anyone.
