Eric Raupp came to my house on 10/8/15 to provide an estimate for an approx. 240 sq-ft brick paver patio and steps. He provided the estimate and I signed the Proposal. He said depending on the weather, they can work into early November, and they'd call me to schedule the job. By 1/19/16, since I hadn't heard anything, I assumed it was because of the season. But I called them to make sure they hadn't "forgotten" about me. The woman I spoke with told me Eric was right there, and said he'd call me in early spring. He wanted to meet again to show me the design. She assured me that I'd be "the first job they schedule" in the spring. By 4/12/16, I still hadn't heard anything. I e-mailed Raupp Bros. to get a status, and received a response that day stating I needed to call the office to set up an appointment with Eric to go over my Proposal and finalize everything. I met with Eric on 4/16 with my Proposal in hand, which was a good thing, because he not only didn't have a copy with him, but he acted as if he didn't remember the job we discussed. During the "appointment," which lasted five minutes, I re-confirmed what I wanted, and he said he'd drive by my place to look over the area again. He said he'd draw up the plans and have them sent to me by the end of that week. Not having heard anything by 5/5/16 (19 days after our appointment), I again e-mailed them, and asked if he was able to draw up the plans. By 5/9/16, I still hadn't received the plans, or a response to my e-mail. I e-mailed them again, stating it didn't seem after seven months that they were interested in my project, and if that was the case, to please have the courtesy of letting me know so that I could move forward with looking for another contractor. I stated at the end of my e-mail that "I would appreciate a response," to which I never received. I went with this company based on a referral from a co-worker who was happy with the small patio they installed for her. Based on that recommendation, I didn't bother to get other estimates. Unfortunately, this cost me a lot of time. When I finally realized I wasn't going to hear back from Raupp Brothers, it was well into late spring. Instead of enjoying a new patio, I was starting my search for a new contractor, many of which were already booked well to the end of summer. To say I am disappointed in Raupp Brothers is an understatement. Their customer service is non-existent. If they didn't want my job, they could've at least let me know, instead of promising to send me plans, and that I'd be the first job of the season. At the very least, they could've responded to my e-mails. I was exited about working with them, and having a patio to enjoy throughout the summer. However, I now see what happened with them as a blessing in disguise. I ended up with a wonderful contractor who not only started my project exactly when they said they would, and created a gorgeous patio for me, but also had excellent customer service. If you had a good experience with Raupp Brothers, consider yourself lucky. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
