Recent Review: It was perfect. He was great. They were polite, they came home in time, and they cleaned after they finished. I loved the way they treated each other. They were respectful and professional. The price was not too high and not too low.

Recent Review: They were fantastic! The crew was punctual, polite and really professional. Corneliu, the owner, quoted me right away and showed up exactly on time on scheduled days. He brought his crew in the morning and made sure he knew exactly what I wanted done and how. Two men got the job done in one day. They cleaned up both the family room area and the garage (where they cut the stone). The end result was beautifully done! We are very pleased and would hire them again without delay.

Recent Review: We purchased a home that the entire bathroom was limestone. The bathroom had mold growing in it. They came and cleaned it and re-grouted it. They were very honest with us about how long it would last. We also had granite counter tops in our kitchen that need to be resurfaced. They came back and touched them up. They were fantastic to work with. I plan on having them back to do more work. They were fantastic.

ABUILDING BY DESIGN LLC
Fantastic. Assisted in choice of material and design of surround and floor in front of fireplace. Tim & his assistants provided a number of possible layouts of natural stone tiles. Very creative using the natural colors or lines on the tiles. Accepting of our final choice of layout even when it seemed it was not their 1st choice. High quality installer used. Tim did the wood trim himself and completed the stain and finish on the trim. Unexpected design of steel sheet mantle. Tim fabricated himself. It accentuated the fireplace & surround without overpowering. Absolutely gorgeous!!!

Nick was very helpful with suggestions and ideas what to do with marble floor that was looking worn out. He was texting me pictures of samples, always answered my questions. He was easily reached and punctual. We decided on floating tile over existing floor and he did a great job. It looks like stone floor but it feels warmer. I would always recommend Nick.

AAllied Hardwood Floors
My wife and I were both very impressed with the attention to detail and speed with which our floors were installed.  The guys did a great job doing things the right way the first time and we were pleased with them from day one.  The most impressive aspect of their work was around our natural stone fireplace where they meticulously cut the boards to fit around the curvature of the stone perfectly.  We couldn't be happier with the work they did and with their overall work ethic and professionalism.  We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for any work to be done with their hardwood flooring and would definitely use them again in the future.

AGrout Girl
Suzanne's estimate was at the lower end of other estimates we got. After she started the job, it turned out to be more than what she estimated - while taking the old tile off the drywall sustained significant damage. Suzanne repaired all the damage, installed the new tile with the custom specs we wanted, and did an excellent, professional job. The job took 2.5 days (up from her estimate of 2 days) but she came in on a Sunday to finish the job rather than wait till Monday. And didn't ask for a penny more than her estimate. I paid her 20% extra just because she did such a good job. She had the right tools, knew exactly what she was doing, showed up exactly on time and cleaned up when she left.

BThe Tile Shop
Tile selection is fabulous! However, beware, they do not have many of the tiles on the floor in stock. In fact we picked out 3 and none of them were immediately (day or two) available - one had been discontinued, and two were backordered. We originally placed the order back in September and were just able to pick up the tiles 11/15. I understand this may not be their fault, although I did receive a call once telling me my tiles were in, then a second call very shortly therafter saying they'd orderd the wrong ones and mine really weren't in. These are glass mosaic tiles so they are more fragile than say natural stone, or probably porcelain however we found several peices in a couple sheets (we ordered 2 boxes, 20 sheets total) that were broken. Unfortunately the Tile Shop can't do anything about this because the tiles are backordered again. His suggestion was to just pull peices off an edge. Fortunately we'd ordered enough that we are able to do that but over all we probably wouldn't deal with these people again. At 25$/sq ft I expect some serious customer service and it didn't happen. That said, we've been working on this project (new build for a 2800 sq ft house) for 5 months now and have looked at almost every tile supplier in the area and the Tile Shop is the ONLY one who had this particular tile. Bottom line - they did deliver what they said they would, albeit late and partially damaged but still usable. Price is kind of irrelevant since I chose the tile and knew the price when I did so. They did have very reasonably priced tile as well. Did I mention their amazing selection?

AMark Ellis Builders
Project started as a $299 big deal purchase for the installation of a back-splash, in which we already had the materials. The project migrated into a significantly larger project as we realized from the Mark Ellis' analysis of the back splash project and the alternate options he suggested that we might want to consider, that Mark Ellis had a high quality knowledge of design to go along with his installation capabilities that might be useful for a number of other projects that we were separately contemplating. The project included: 1) the installation of natural stone in the kitchen, laundry room, lower bathroom, foyer and hallways, which included a significant materials price reduction from the cost quotes that we had received previously as well as a number of suggested alternative material and installation pattern recommendations that he made, the results of which were stunning (comments from friends and neighbors) and which we did not expect but deeply appreciated; 2) the installation of carpeting in the dining and living rooms; 3) Painting of all walls including the 2nd story interior (except the bedrooms) along with consultations on color selection which again were stunning (again comments from friends and neighbors); 4) Complete change-out of all 9 light fixtures (including a stunning chandelier in the foyer) and faceplates (again lots of oohs and aahs from friends and neighbors); 5) the installation of wood flooring in the sunroom; and 6) the installation of the back-splash that was the original intent of the project, along with consultations on natural stone selection to match the new floor and existing granite which again was stunning (yet again comments from friends and neighbors) There were also a number of smaller repairs/upgrades that we added to the project as the project progressed, as we wanted to tackle as much as we could while we had his excellent crew at our disposal. Due to the impressive work he performed, we are already preparing a list of work projects for him to tackle later in the year (replacing a number of windows, 2nd level bathroom repairs, 2nd level carpet replacement, exterior painting). Highly recommended for all aspects of home improvement. Great crew of workers that were hardworking, efficient, cared about their craft, and very very courteous. Prompt attention to detail and constantly inquired about issues to address and made sure we were always happy and issue-free. Unbelievable to say this, but though they took over our lower level, almost felt like they were family such that it was never invasive. We will use again!

ACARDEA CONSTRUCTION CO
The project took a well-worn postage-stamp-sized bathroom (about 8 ft x 4 ft plus a 3 ft x 3 ft shower) and created a 16 ft x 8 ft bath, by building out a wall into the adjacent laundry / utility room. The results look like a page out of Architecture Digest, as the photo below substantiates. The bathroom includes features for universal access, including grab bars everywhere, a toilet with a higher-than-normal seat, a shower with no floor lip (allowing wheelchair access), a sink on a pedestal (again, room for a wheelchair to slide beneath), a mirror that extends low enough for viewing from a seated position, and door and faucet lever handles (rather than knobs). We began the work in consultation with an interior designer secured by Cardea. As a result, the colors of the wall, fixtures, shower, and grab bars look striking together. As for our patio project with Cardea reported elsewhere in angieslist.com, one construction supervisor served as the craftsman who constructed the result. Floor, lights, and walls were removed; a gently-sloping shower floor was designed with a no-sill, wheelchair-friendly entrance, and the walls of the new 5 ft x 3 ft shower were individual stone tiles, punctuated by a matching “racing stripe” at eye level with a raised paisley pattern, adding character. Beautiful brushed nickel lighting fixtures, over the vanity and throughout the laundry area, give wonderful floods of light and a bit of a high-tech look. All along the way, work was friendly, accommodating, and at times, innovative. When it was found that an additional grab bar would help in stepping out of the shower, it was added at no cost. When it was found that the 1” tile floor in the shower, where the grouted interstices should provide traction, was instead slippery, the problem was diagnosed to a sealer that had been placed on the tiles, and which was then removed. When it was found that the washer and dryer as originally repositioned would have the doors opening into each other, the necessary plumbing and vent changes were made to allow switching their positions. When the construction supervisor observed that the repositioned laundry sink was close to its walls, he suggested and put in a small counter around it and a water resistant splash shield all around. When he observed that a plug outlet had inadvertently been covered by the wallboard specialist that had been brought in, he pointed it out on his own and opened it up (we would have never found it).
