Recent Review: After a bit of confusion (due to a previous quote from another technician) regarding our deep crawl space, we and Ayers finally made a joint decision on the best system to use. Gage Pederson, the Foreman, did an outstanding job of explaining what they were going to do, kept us totally informed each step of the way, and repeated everything, along with the warranty at the end of the job. We felt free to ask any questions and Gage replied with confidence and quickly. I can’t say enough about this young man’s professionalism. Ayers needs to keep him long term, and putting him in sales earlier than later. He really knows his stuff. He gave us complete confidence that the trenching and encapsulated system will work! Cody Redman and Andy Best were also on the job and did an outstanding job. All three of these guys worked their tails off, not stopping for long. When they left each day, Gage was sure to say what time they would return the next day. They called each day to say they were on their way, and showed up sooner than their expected arrival. It was a real pleasure getting to know each one of them, and they were excellent representatives for the Ayers company. Congrats to a job well done!

Recent Review: It went very well. The person who did the inspection & gave me the quote was very courteous & professional, He explained everything very well. They were pretty busy so it took 2 months before they could do the work. The actual work was done to my satisfaction. The crew did a very good job and cleaned up well afterwards.

Recent Review:       Had our crawl space encapsulized yesterday, everything went very well. I was told the installers would be here between 10am and 11am. They were here at 10:15 and started right away. There were five workers and they all were very professional. They were done around 6pm, had me inspect all their work and explained how they performed the work. They cleaned up all materiels  and left the property in very good condition.  From start to finish, everyone was very professional and no pressure. Their work is warranted for the life of the structure.     I would recommend this company to anyone.

Recent Review: I cannot overstate how impressed I have been with Story from the initial estimate for services, to the subsequent discussion and negotiation of details, to the installation itself. The crew was on time and all four were very friendly, considerate and capable. I had no qualms about having them perform this big and important job. And what a great job they did. If a crawlspace can be beautiful, this one surely qualifies. I have been in homebuilding for 30 years and I know quality work. There is absolutely no way they could have done any better, and I don't ever recall saying that about anyone prior, even people that did a good job. The detail work was perfect and they left the job thoroughly clean. Thank you, Story. I'd recommend you to anyone with no hesitation, and I guess I should mention your price was significantly better than the big competition.

Recent Review: Scott came over and gave us an estimate to replace the sill plates along the east side of our house.  His bid was accepted and he started 2 days later per our agreement. He was able to quickly lift up the house, remove the siding and replace the sill plates.  He was so fast that he continued to replace more sill plates than originally quoted since he had some extra time. In the end he even reduced his price because the job was easier than expected. How often to see this happen! We have more sill plates and foundation work to be done this spring and Scott will be doing the work.

The representative was very honest and professional, showing me exactly what would be needed to enclose the area.

AStay Dry Basement Waterproofing Inc
The crawlspace of our house we purchased about a year ago was damp and often had standing water in it.  Because the house is near a lake, the water table is very high and water is not uncommon.  Unfortunately, all the standing water drove the humidity of the house very high to the 60s and 70s year round! I contacted Stay Dry to give me an estimate along with another provider.  Wayne from Stay Dry provide me with great information about the problem and how it could be solved.  The cost of doing this work is not cheap, but the risk of damage to the structure of our home is what convinced me to move forward.  In the winter, the window would have a great deal of condensation around them which isn't good for them either.  The cost was on par with the other provide I met with, but this solution seemed more complete. The work took about four days to complete.  Stay Dry sent a great crew of five men, led by Spencer, who made residence in the three foot high crawl space for the next four days.  First they lined the carpet and walls with protective materials.  The entrance to the crawl space was in one of the bedroom, down a hall of white carpeting.  Once lined the work began by clearing out all of the fallen insulation and any other random debris from down below.  Next all of the wires were cleaned up and tidied up.  All the debris had to be carried out in five gallon buckets through the house as there isn't external access to the space. Next, they dug by hand a 110 feet of trench, lined it with fabric and then stone (stone was carried in a five gallon bucket at a time) and finally the drainage pipe itself.  Once that was complete the entire space was lined with and sealed with a heavy duty liner (think swimming pool liner material).  The crawlspace was unbelievably clean when they were finished.  The liner is white so instead of dark sandy/mud floor, it was white liner.  No more rain boots to go down in the space.  The sumps were installed and set to drain to the exterior of the house.   The pumps that were installed have a battery back up as well as a system that will text me if there is a problem with the pumps.  It also tells me the amount of water that is pumped out of the space each day.  I am floored by how much it pumps! When the work was done in January, it was too cold to do the final part of the job which was to foam the rim joists.  The crew came back in April once it warmed up and completed the rest of the work. Humidity in the house has dropped to the mid-30% range.  The crawl space is actually usable for storage and going down there for wiring or mechanical work is a breeze. Once all of the protective materials were removed from the carpet and walls, everything was spotless.  Everything was in the exact same shape as before the project. The crew worked incredibly hard in what are not desirable conditions.  The solution did everything I wanted it to do and everything Wayne said it would do.  It is not inexpensive, but for the interior of our house and the overall health of our house, it was well worth it. While I hope I don't have to ever do this project again, I would use Stay Dry again if I did.

Very high cost unnecessary solution was proposed. No inputs were requested from me to help with the solution.

The work they did has taken care of our water issues which has made those spaces usable and is helping to protect the integrity of the foundation of our home. They have their headquarters in Livonia and an office and operation in Traverse City as well. Our service was done out of the Traverse City office which services the Northern Lower and Eastern Upper Peninsulas. We were provided with a team that included an initial Inspector who supplied us with a free estimate, engineering and project specifications and a contract, an Installation Crew who performed the work specified in the contract, and a Customer Experience Advocate (CEA) who helped coordinate the effort and follow-up. I did not have to contact them after we contracted for the work as they reached out to us for verification of every component of the job. I was contacted by the CEA the week before the job was scheduled for verification and confirmation, phoned during the days work was being performed to check on our satisfaction and have been contacted since the work was done to be certain that everything was functioning as designed. The entire team including the initial inspector (Jim), the installation crew (foreman Mike), and CEA (Shonda) were professional, well trained and personable. If I should need any work performed that is within their realm of expertise they will get my business.

It was a good experience.  I checked with the crew leader after it was finished and I was well satisfied.  They were supposed to come at 8am but did not show until 3pm.

Justin and his crew did a great job. They finished quicker than I anticipated. They did careful, thorough work and protected the living area floors with plastic so they wouldn't make a mess. Afterward they cleaned everything up nicely. The crawlspace is now dry, clean and bright white. No more moldy smell! I am very pleased with how they paid attention to the little details in their work. A very hardworking crew.
