Furnace stopped running then re-started. Had technician inspect. Heat Exchanger needed to be replaced. Ordered and they replaced. Under warranty; therefore, only paid for labor.

Fantastic. Part was ordered promptly and even though we had to wait a week for the factory to deliver the part to Great Dane, they were out the very next day and completed the repair quickly and professionally.

My initial phone call was handled very courteously. Very prompt. Work was performed the same day I called. Technician was also courteous, very informative and gladly answered all of my questions and then some. They also came in with the best price (heat exchanger was replaced under warranty). I would not hesitate to use them again.

Tech was punctual and professional.   The first thing he looked for was a cracked heat exchanger.  This is a typical heating and cooling trick to sell a new furnace.   Unfortunately,  there actually were visible cracks in my heat exchanger.   The options presented to me were a new heat exchange for $1700 or a new furnace for $3000.   I did some investigation and determined that my furnace was still under warranty to I was able to get it repaired for $475.

They correctly diagnosed the circuit board problem, but then also told us the heat exchanger had cracks in it. We got a second opinion from a very reliable source who said the heat exchanger was not cracked. The money we paid them was just to look at it. They quoted us $1,400 to fix both (about $900 for the heat exchanger and $500 for the circuit board). We got the circuit board fixed for $325, including labor. I noticed afterwards in a review that someone else had said they were told they had a bad heat exchanger, but didn't.

Did initial service call to find problem. Checked and found a burnt out heat exchanger. Also checked SN and found it should be covered under warranty. Their efforts saved me thousands of dollars!

It started when I had the heating company I have used for 20 years or more come to check my furnace for the winter.  The tech  diagnosed a bad heat exchanger.  He tried to show me where it was damaged.  I could see something but it was hard with his hand and head in the way.  I accepted his diagnosis.  But he said the law said he would have to shut the furnace down because it was dangerous.  However, if I signed a legal document he had, he could leave it on for about 10 days.  I signed the document.  Then for some reason he cut out a large square of metal from the outside of the furnace on the back and wanted me to see the damaged heat exchanger that way.  He insisted I needed a new furnace because my brand only lasted about 20 or 22 years and if the heat exchanger was replaced something else might go wrong.  I cannot argue with that but I wanted to see what my options were and get other estimates.  Well, then he tacked on about $80 extra dollars for cutting out the metal square in the back of the furnace in addition to the maintenance charges. I had several companies come to give me an estimate.  They all wanted me to buy a new furnace because mine is 16 years old and something else could go wrong.  I took a chance when Koch and White said they thought a heat exchanger would last more years.  So I will have to wait for the results of that.   They also questioned why my first company tech had cut out the metal on the furnace.  They could see no reason to do so.  There was no pressure to buy a new furnace.  Their prices were reasonable compared to the other estimates I received and I liked the tone of the employees I spoke to.  I will just have to wait and see how long the furnace will continue, but it has given me no trouble this winter.

The technician was very thorough. He took the time to explain the problem as well as the warranty procedures. They made the repair quickly and efficiently. Matheson installed this furnace in 1997 and has provided excellent service since then. The technicians even wear red booties while in your house.

I thought my A/C unit was running weakly and probably needed additional Freon. I called Dand G to come out and clean and inspect the unit. I also asked them to check my heat exchanger. I was able to make an appointment for the day after I called!! They called about an hour before they came out and they did a very professional job of checking everything and explaining what they were doing. The technician gave me some options on replacing the air filter and also explained that I should have a damper in the humidified duct. They did the job and asked me before adding Freon to the system. He also did a nice job of checking the heat exchanger and kept everything clean - even wore booties over his work boots when he came in the house. Very helpful and professional.

Exam found cracked heat exchanger, so really didn't like the results, but that shouldn't detract from the service.
