Recent Review: Everything went as planed Cody and his Crew did an awesome job painting the exterior and interior of our home. They went above and beyond to do a great job and to make sure we were happy with it. They just didn’t come in and start painting, they patched and sanded the walls to take out any pre-existing imperfections. You can really tell they want to make sure you a completely satisfied with the job they have done. Cody, the owner and his Crew were all very punctual, friendly, professional and easy to work with. I was very impressed with their work. You can tell they really care.”

FJenkins Plumbing and Heating
I want to apologize in advance for any typos. My electronics have been packed away for 5 months due to a remodel, and the tiny screen and keypad I'm using are less than optimal. First and foremost, it should be noted Andy is a very likable person, which is the ONLY reason he lasted on this job as long as he did. After the numerous errors and oversights, I actually had to call the State of Michigan to verify he is a licensed plumber, because I simply couldn't believe it. Incredibly, he is licensed. Here are some examples of my less than positive review: 1. Andy turned the water lines on under my BRAND NEW bathroom vanity. Lines were not even connected to water lines yet, and my builder states he was not even supposed to be working in the bathroom that day. He forgot that he left them on, and went on to do other things. At some point, he turned on the water supply to the house. He discovered his error when he went out to his truck through the garage and found water pouring through the garage ceiling and all blown in cellulose insulation. He had flooded the brand new bathroom, part of the adjacent walk in closet and bedroom flooring. I was home at the time, and he did not tell me this had happened until I saw him making repeated trips back and forth and asked if things were going ok, at which point he said no, they were not. He left with no apology, and other than using a towel to dry the vanity surface, and a broom to sweep water out of the garage, made no attempt to dehumidify the room to save a vanity and tiling worth thousands. I immediately contacted a friend with a dehumidifier and set that up, plus fans, which is the SOLE reason the vanity was saved with minimal damage. Andy/Jenkins was insured through Auto Owners with a liability policy. My builder contacted them 1st thing Monday morning. I did not hear from them all week until I called Thursday morning. This means I had soaked shredded newspaper under my bedroom and bathroom floor for four days in near 90 degree weather. They assured me I would hear from an adjust or by noon. I gave them noon as a deadline, stating I would have to contact my homeowners after that to get something done so I didn't have a huge black mold issue. After a mid morning reminder that I still hadn't heard from an adjustor, I waited. When no call came by noon, I had to file with my homeowners, meaning I now have a $500 deductible and my rates will increase by no fault of my own. My adjustor was eventually able to contact Auto Owners, and the adjustor said That mount Pleasant Agency had not turned the claim call over to him until that very day! Jenkins carries cash value liability, which means I have to pay to replace my ceiling and insulation with new, but they will reimburse me for drywall that has half depreciated. 2. Andy installed brand new American Standard toilets. I bought two identical ones to make sure it was easy for him. He bought a sink braid rather than for a toilet on the first toilet. Unbelievably, he did the exact same thing several weeks later when installing the second toilet. The toilet got great reviews on Amazon and Builders.com. He came to me and said he noticed that you have to hold the handle down the entire time the toilet is flushing, or it stops. I asked him why that happens, as I had also noticed it, and he said he did not know. I asked if it could be adjusted, he said no, it was installed correctly, and it was due to the fact that it is a "super green" model which uses 1.2 gallons rather than 1.6. I assured him no one mentioned this in their review, so with Andy the Master a Plumber right next to me, I, a speech pathologist, called the American Standard help line. She inquired how much slack was in the chain controlling the flapper. "It's draped, quite a bit of slack, I'd say. " "That's your problem, there should be very little slack. Just hook the links to the clip to the point where there's no slack." It took me less than 30 seconds. This is BASIC toilet mechanics! How could a Master Plumber not have figured this out???? 3. Andy consistently arrived late, often hours late, and cancelled as often as he arrived. He arrived unprepared for the job, stayed brief periods, thereby requiring multiple trips to complete simple projects. He sent me to the store multiple times for a fitting which I got exactly as requested--even had him talk to the man at the hardware store while I was there. It was the wrong piece because he didn't measure. While he worked in my home, he took multiple phone calls, which was just what he did not need. He is incapable of dealing with distractions. His wife would call, and if ignored the call because he was in the middle of something important, she would keep calling until he answered. Her call had a unique ring. 4. Andy attempted over several nights to install a wall mounted partial pedestal sink. He had to keep coming back because he did not have correct parts, he said. The sink was very heavy, and very wobbly against the wall. I had gone to the trouble of having the drywall taken out, a wooden extra support frame put in the wall, and redrywalled. When I told Andy the sink should not be that wobbly, he insisted it wasn't done. Silicone caulk would secure it. No, I said, coommon sense tells me caulk would not hold up a 50 or so pound sink. Andy told me I could recycle all sink boxes, as he was done. In them, I found the Manila envelope of all heavy duty bolts and installation hardware, as well as mounting instructions that came with the sink, UNOPENED!!! For absolutely no reason, he had gone out and purchased two bolts nowhere near the heft of those included, which was why the sink was so wobbly. I insisted the sink be removed and the bolts replaced with the ones sent. He argued with me, stating it would be very hard to remove them and get the sturdy ones in. That is Andy's problem. He doesn't do things right the first time, and seems to have no ability to predict potential outcomes, such as the expensive sink could have crashed to the ground shattering sink, new slate floor, creating another flood as plumbing was ripped off wall, and causing potential injury to someone using the sink. All done to take a shortcut! 5. Became very offended when told I did not want him working alone in my house. 6. Did not bother to look in shower trim packages that were here for months. Allowed my builder to tile glass around two stubs that should have remained open for inset shower tiles. He had no idea how to install them, though he claimed to have done it before. Now in the very expensive process of figuring out how to rip out days worth of work, wood braving, already run pipes, tile on walls etc. to undo yet another one of his careless and completely avoidable errors. 7. Andy leaves his trash, packaging, etc. everywhere. Does not clean up any of his messes. 8. Actually brought his personal trash to my construction dumpster and informed me after the fact. Summary: affable guy, but I had to tell my General Contractor that Andy has done enough damage here and had to be terminated. Hard because he is likable. I feel bad doing this, but others have the right to know. I have since heard that I am not the first person to forbid him from working alone in their house. I wish I would have known at the outset what I know now. I have actually lost the majority of my hair due, according to my doctor, entirely from the stress this project has caused. At this point I have to have everything he did inspected. I don't trust any of it. Very costly error...
