Recent Review: Overall, the work went extremely well. The work had to be spread over two days with one worker on the first day and two workers the following afternoon. Even though their work schedules are so full, they were able to get us worked into their schedules rather quickly, as I am a housebound disabled Army Veteran and they wanted to get the fans in quickly, so I would not suffer the up and coming heat wave. That is extremely thoughtful, caring and professional!!! Their work went very well. They are very organized, methodical and remained focused both days. Nothing seemed much of a challenge to them, as they had to work around me being in bed and a bit in their way. Both workers are quite energetic and always kept positive attitudes!! They are both very knowledgeable about EVERY part of their jobs and work together very well as a team. I have a bit of wiring experience and can tell you that they are VERY professional, thorough and have a great deal of experience!! They put all the wiring, wall switches, ceiling braces, circuit breaker, and both ceiling fans in, in what seemed like hyper-speed. All aspects of their work are very solid, and their finishing work is thoroughly professional!! These ceiling fans are whisper quiet and have not one bit of shimmy or vibrations in their operation whatsoever!! The exhaust fan in the master bath presented some challenges, as a lot of drilling of larger holes had to be done and getting to the outside of my house was not an easy undertaking. However, they worked very hard and got it done, while keeping their work area and other spaces free of sawdust and dirt at all times. They finished with very professional looking results and perfect operation of the fan, its exhaust and operation of switches and lighting. I am extremely satisfied with every aspect of their job performance and will HIGHLY recommend Mr. Electric to all my family and friends...AND...definitely will use the for all future electrical servicing needs!!!!! I also called in to their main office and spoke with the owner, who was very happy to hear that his workers are performing admirably!! He welcomes your comments at all times and is very pleasant and professional to talk with.

Recent Review: Our experience with Beacon was a mixed bag. When I first called Jim, I told him I needed work on the switches and outlets mentioned above and he said he would be here at the end of the week. A couple days later he called to say he was backed up on a job and wouldn't be able to get to me until the end of the next week. That was understandable and I appreciated the notice. At that time I told him we would like him to change 2 light fixtures and the bath fan while he was here too. He said OK. When he got here, I showed him around and he said, "Well you have more than I thought you did. I will have to come back tomorrow with another guy." This was mildly frustrating as I'd cleared my schedule to be home that day and I had told him about all of the things we wanted done between the 2 phone conversations we had. That next day he had to cancel due to a serious health issue--totally understandable!--and he came at his first opportunity the next week. He and his assistant were right on time, did all of the work and were even able to fix our bath fan instead of replace it, which was great. Really happy with the money saved. He had to change the configuration of the switches on the wall for the bath fan/light/heater and did not have a switch plate to go on it and he would be back that day or the next with the switch plate. Great, no problem. The next day he came and put the switch plate on while I had new flooring being installed. I was outside with my young children, keeping them out of the way, so I did not know he was here. He popped his head outside to say, "I got your switch plate, you're all set." Later when I got inside I realized, he installed ALMOND switches & switch plate when not 6 inches away, on the same wall, I have another switch/outlet combo that is WHITE. Not only that but he left a divot in the drywall that the switch plate is not covering that my husband had to patch. Within a day of the work being done, my range hood stopped working, on the same circuit as one of the GFIs we had installed. Another electrician advised me that it was probably related to that. I had to make a couple of calls to Jim to get him to come back out, but when he did, he discovered the problem was that someone had spliced something in the wall (creating a fire hazard) and when he installed the GFI, the splice came apart, which caused the hood to stop working. He was generous in pricing this 2nd service call.

Recent Review: The electrician brought along  an apprentice.  The apprentice installed the track light, and the electrician installed the ceiling fan.  Both the  light installation and the fan installation went as I would expect a professional installation to go. I did not like the results of the bathroom exhaust fan, but it was the fan itself that caused the problem, not the electrician.  I have arranged to purchase a better quality fan from the electrician, and he will install it at a later date.  I am not anticipating any discount for the pending job. I gave a "B" rating on price, because I was charged  for two electricians for the two hours of work, even though the apprentice finished his installation in less than an hour.  So I essentially paid him (as a licensed electrician) the rest of his time at my house for him to do nothing. Nevertheless, I liked the workers and the work they performed and I would use the company again.  However, I will ask that, for future jobs, the company not send apprentices.

AWebster Electric, Inc.
The serviceman, Mark, was actually early for the appointment and he called before coming to ensure that early was not an inconvenience.  Mark was professional yet friendly.  He installed two ceiling fans for us.  We originally called Webster because we had concerns about our ceiling mounts and if they were to code and could support the ceiling fans as the junction boxes for the electrical were side mounted.  Mark checked to ensure that the boxes were to code and mounted the fans to meet code and our security/support concerns.  Mark mentioned that we were smart to call in an electrician for this install as following the manufacturer's installation instructions would have resulted in the fan being unstable and subject to falling, in addition to failing code.  The work was done quickly and well and the cost ended up being under estimate.

AO'Dell Electric Inc
Gerry O'Dell and a second electrician arrived on time. There was lots of work to do, but they worked efficiently and professionally. Replacing the fixtures created dust and debris, and they cleaned and vacuumed up all the debris. They even replaced some light bulbs so I didn't have to. I am very happy with all the new light fixtures and the work they did. I would definitely hire O'Dell Electric again.

Background:  Our bathroom had a very ghetto exhaust fan installed by a previous owner.  It had a pull-cord to operate and vented into the attic.   Mark was very easy for me to work with.  The dates for the estimate and work were both easily scheduled over email.  Mark walked me through the work required during the estimate and then walked me through the completed work.  He even pointed out a couple of unrelated things in the house that he thought could use attention.   I would also mention that the process took some time.  It was about 4 weeks out for the estimate and then another 4 weeks to get the work done.  This isn't a knock on Mark, but I've seen a few reviews were people were mad that work couldn't be done asap.  Just be aware that if you're going into this thinking you're going to contact him today and get the work done tomorrow, it might not work like that. I'm very happy with the completed work and would use Mark again for future handyman projects.

AWCB ELECTRICAL
Bill immediately advised the problem was a involve a lot of trouble shooting, looking at each fixtures wiring to identify the problem. He had to go up into the attic to correct the wiring on the bathroom exhaust fan which was a very hot and sweaty job. Bill did an outstanding job, cleaned up after himself and everything works perfectly.

FJOHN DAVIS ELECTRICAL SERVICE INC
I set up meeting for today between 10-1, for a quote on electric to ceiling fans. When I called Mr Davis at 9:45 am, he was in another city attending to an emergency. He told me he farmed out my quote but he couldn't recall who. When I asked if it would be closer to 10 am or closer to 1 pm, he stated closely to 1 pm if they get there. I asked, they may not come? he stated, maybe not. I explained that I had an appointment, if they couldn't come should I call another contractor? He immediately stated, yes call someone else. Well, I had to take time off of work, he never called to say he was attending to an emergency, and had I not called to check, I would still be waiting at my house for someone who would not be coming. John Davis is very unprofessional. A simple call to reschedule was all I needed. Will never use him.
