Recent Review: I had several rod holes that were leaking and a crack that went from a window to the floor. The Rod holes were identified and sealed up.The crack was ground out and epoxy applied plus a few carbon fiber staples across the crack for extra stability. After they torture tested it with water spraying from the outside and waited around. From this we spotted one minor rod hole issue and it was quickly addressed. The Tuck Point Job was to address a crack forming on the mortar of the brick on the exterior. They ground out the old mortar and put fresh mortar back in. Looks like it matches quite well. Overall I'm pleased with the work that was done and I'd recommend them to anyone. This job was probably a very minor one for these guys but I'm sure they can handle some of the tougher jobs.

Recent Review: It was a fairly big project. Water had gotten behind the walls in a finished basement room due to various factors--water above in an attached garage, a faulty downspout, and so forth. There was mold in some of the walls, especially in the closet and in a closet in the room next door. The one part that was kind of a pain was the mold remediation, because we had to be out of the house all day, but Allstar and the mold remediation specialist worked with us to keep it to just one day. The workmen were hard-working, humorous, and prompt. At one point we had to revise the job a bit and ask them to tear off the furring strips on those walls to make sure the waterproofing was done behind them, in case there were cracks in the cinder blocks that ran behind the furring strips. Steve (who was overseeing the project) okayed doing that at the quoted price even though the wording in the contract on that point was ambiguous. They sent out a finishing man to do all the extra little items at the end (trim pieces in the closet corners, etc.) according to a list we gave them. And finally, when a leak at the window in the basement room showed up during a rainstorm immediately after the project was done, which may not have been related to the job (the remodeling may have revealed a leak that was quietly going on without our knowledge before) the owner, Dan Tyler, came over himself and diagnosed the outside source of the leak and caulked it for us at no extra charge. We take all our work of this kind to Allstar. They aren't the cheapest contractors in town, but they stand by their work, and as a homeowner, I find that is most important.

Recent Review: A & M Home Service did a great job of waterproofing my basement. I had them do 3 sides in 2011 the only thing I would suggest to others is if your are on the fence about getting all 4 sides done get them done. With the big snow melt and rain in 2018 the one side I didn't have done I had water come in that side. Since A & M did very good work the first time I didn't hesitate to call them right away to come and fix the 4th wall. This company has very professional, polite, and hard workers. They treat everyone with respect and show up when they say they will. They do their best to work with your schedule. Having them back to do more work should speak to how satisfied I am with the quality of their work. I can't say enough good things about this company. They seem more like family. Very trustworthy. Recent Review: We had interviewed 8 other companies and just were not satisfied with all the varying solutions proposed for our bowing and leaking basement walls. CLI's solution seemed reasonable, cost-effective and tailored to the scope of our problem. It seemed like the best long-term job, so that we would not have the issues in the basement again. Darrin was always prompt, efficient and professional. Calls were answered quickly. It has been less than two months, but no problems. CLI also has a better warranty than the others we interviewed. Over all we are very satisfied.

When we purchased the house we knew that the previous owners had problems. They had hired another company to waterproof the basement. We moved in October and everything was fine. When we had Spring thaw we ended up with three corners of the basement wet, really wet. Called the original company which honored the previous owners contract and "fixed the problem." Well, it didn't work. For the next year we had wet corners and repairs which required time-off from my job. It got so bad that we had water alarms in the basement which would contact my cellphone so we could get home and dry the basement (finished basement with carpet). We finally gave up and call EverDry to the rescue. They reviewed our problem and developed a system just for us, not some cookie cutter system. And it worked!!!! 10 years later and we haven't had any water in the basement. I don't even need to check it after a heavy rain because I know it is ok. No more water alarms or phone calls from a wet basement.

From estimate to completion ,we were treated with respect and concern for our well being in the process. It took 7 days but Mark and his crew were here every day, on time, and they worked very hard in very hot and humid summer weather. They were also very respectful of our privacy during this time. They removed plants and replaced back in the order they found them with little damage. You’d never know they had been here but I watched them working. Other companies would not replace the plants. For the money- the investment for us was the best choice and we have no regrets nor any moisture at all in our crawl space. Austin spent over 5 hours with us (estimating)testing and writing up a report to present to us showing everything they would do and he answered every question we had. We feel we made the right choice in using Ever Dry . TSH-Mattawan

The work that Everdry did on our basement was quick, efficient, and clean. They showed up on time, finished early and cleaned up so well that you couldn't even tell they were here. 4 years later and we are still pleased with how they waterproofed our basement. JW, Dowagiac

AAyers Basement Systems
After a bit of confusion (due to a previous quote from another technician) regarding our deep crawl space, we and Ayers finally made a joint decision on the best system to use. Gage Pederson, the Foreman, did an outstanding job of explaining what they were going to do, kept us totally informed each step of the way, and repeated everything, along with the warranty at the end of the job. We felt free to ask any questions and Gage replied with confidence and quickly. I can’t say enough about this young man’s professionalism. Ayers needs to keep him long term, and putting him in sales earlier than later. He really knows his stuff. He gave us complete confidence that the trenching and encapsulated system will work! Cody Redman and Andy Best were also on the job and did an outstanding job. All three of these guys worked their tails off, not stopping for long. When they left each day, Gage was sure to say what time they would return the next day. They called each day to say they were on their way, and showed up sooner than their expected arrival. It was a real pleasure getting to know each one of them, and they were excellent representatives for the Ayers company. Congrats to a job well done!

DR J WATERPROOFING & CNTRCTNG
**PLEASE GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING BEFORE YOU ALLOW HIM TO START ANY WORK ON YOUR PROPERTY*** I was having a problem with water leaking into my basement. I found RJ Waterproofing here on Angie's list. He had an A rating, so I decided to give him a call. Roger came out to give me an estimate and thoroughly explained everything that he would need to do to fix the problem. He quoted me a price of $2000 and told me that he would draw up the details and bring it back when he began the work. He came back with his worker (Eric) a day or two later with a different idea of how they wanted to proceed with the job. I agreed and specifically asked him if this would cost me any more than the quoted price. He told me "No" and that the new way would all be covered under the previously quoted price, nothing extra, and that he will draw everything up before he began the work. They came back the following week to do the job. They did a wonderful job of covering up my items so that they would not get dusty, the work was completed in two days, and they put everything back the way it was. No issues with the workmanship. My main problem was that when it was time to pay, HE CHARGED ME AN ADDITIONAL $500 that we had not discussed. He never drew up the job like he said he would or gave me anything in writing before the job started. I should have been more adamant about receiving his quote in writing, but I never thought he would do that to me, when I asked him specifically if I would be incurring any additional charges. When it was time to pay and I made reference to making the check out for $2000, he said "$2,000, oh no no, $2500!" I said Roger you told me $2000 and he got upset said, "I'm not going to argue with you, this is a $3500 job, but I'm giving you a discount, because you are a nice lady." At this point, I couldn't believe he lied, and just wanted him out of my house. I wrote him the check for $2500 as he sits at my kitchen table, finally drawing up the job along with the receipt. This was after the work had already been completed. I called my husband to let him know he charged me more. Roger overheard our conversation and became really hostile, thinking my husband was upset. He should not have been eavesdropping on my conversation. My husband had the right to ask questions if he is required to pay and additional $500. Not to mention that he was talking to me, not Roger. He threw the check back across the table and was saying things like, "I bent over backwards for you", "I did this and did that", "Here, just take the check back", "This is unbelievable" and so on. He did not do anything more than what he said he was going to do in the first place, nothing more, nothing less. I mean he was really getting mad! Now I really just wanted him gone. I calmed him down enough to let him finish writing up the quote and receipt and sent him on his way. I wrote all this to say that if you go with this company PLEASE GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING FIRST. No matter how nice or honest people seem, some people will take advantage of your kindness. I did not have an extra $500 dollars to give him, but I had no choice, and he knew it, which is why he never wrote anything up. If he would have told me $2500 up front, I would have planned for that and budgeted accordingly, but we both know that he told me $2000. Now giving him that extra $500 has taken away from the money I needed to replace the carpet from the room that was damaged by the water, and also from me being able to pay for my central air to be repaired, all problems that he was aware that I was dealing with while he was here. I really hope that the work they did will fix my problem, but I really won't know until it rains again. He does offer a lifetime guarantee on his work, but I am hoping never to need it!. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with any contractor completing work ont my home.

We recently bought a house that had a waterproofing system provided by Everdry.  The previous owners had continued a warranty with them, so it transferred over to us.  Shortly after we moved in we noticed a crack in our basement wall, and we found that it was getting damp every time it rained.  When we called Everdry they immediately scheduled someone to come out and take a look at the situation.  When he came out he not only looked at the crack, but since we were new to their system he brought me all kinds of information and showed me exactly how our waterproofing system works.  After about an hour's discussion he set up a time for the crew to come out and waterproof the crack as soon as the weather warmed up.  I pictured that it would take 3-4 guys with a small excavator most of the morning to fix the crack, and that a large amount of my rock bed would be disturbed.  I couldn't have been further from the truth.  On the scheduled day two men arrived right on time and began work first thing in the morning.  They hand-dug a hole right where the crack was located, sealed it from the outside, came in and caulked it from the inside, then re-filled the hole and replaced the rock bed all within about an hour and a half.  And because we had the warranty they did both the consultation as well as the repair for free.  I am so happy that the previous owners of my home chose Everdry to waterproof their basement, and I will recommend them to anyone who needs to waterproof their basement!

Great Lakes waterproofed my basement that had leaks on three of four walls. They also patched cracks in the walls . Their guarantee is great. I still had a small leak where the sewer pipe exited the basement and they came back and fixed it promptly and at no charge to me. I am very happy with this company.
