Recent Review: I buy the yearly service. They do the furnace in the fall and the air conditioner in the spring. What really sold me on them was this past summer, I guess, they were doing maintenance on my air conditioner. The man next door came over in a panic because it was a very hot day, his air conditioner wasn't working. When he finished up with mine, he went next door and helped him out. He saw the truck in my driveway and came over and just asked him if he could come over and take a look and he did. That's customer service.

Called these people to give us a price to fix our existing central air conditioner. The tech comes out, looks at the unit and my furnace and then tells my wife (I wasn't home) that the air conditioner is too old and he can't get parts. He told my wife that the part plus install would have been 1,000.00 if he could have gotten the part. He also says that my furnace is beyond repair and should be replaced for $10,000-$15,000. He charges $100.00 for this. For $100.00 he could have at least put a new furnace filter in. I wasn't buying this, so I called Advance Heating and Air Conditioning. The owner, Mr. Hayes came out checked the air conditioner and furnace, and didn't charge me anything. He later called me and gave me a price on a new part to fix the air conditioner, which I had him install much lower rate than Service Experts. Mr. Hayes also inspected my furnace and said there was nothing wrong with it.

AAdams Heating & Cooling
After the central air conditioning unit in my home quit producing cold air on a Sunday, I called Adams early Monday morning to ask for their help with an inspection as soon as possible given high heat and humidity for the next few days. Although the scheduler was unavailable when I called, the gentleman who answered took my contact information and told me she would call as soon as she returned. She called me back within an hour and, after taking additional contact information, told me the technician would be at my home within 2 hours. Another company quoted me a wait of at least 24 hours so obviously with Adams' reputation here on Angie's List, I hired Adams. Within 2 hours, Mr. Adams showed at my front door and diagnosed the problem quickly as a faulty capacitor and explained to me the purpose and problem as related to the part. He was professional, friendly and incredibly helpful with such short notice and I'm grateful I gave them a shot with this issue. When the reasonable bill was issued, he even reminded me that I have a discount via Angie's List which I would have overlooked with my focus on getting the problem corrected. Service is clearly important to Adams Heating and Cooling and they excelled in every way in this experience. Thank you, Mr. Adams!

My air conditioner stopped working and I checked Angie's List for reviews of ac repair providers. I chose Metzger's based on their good reviews. The gal who answered the phone was pleasant and asked when I wanted someone to come out. I asked when the soonest was available and she said someone could come that afternoon. The repairman's name was Nathan and he thought he knew what the problem was within the first minute or so. He was right and was able to replace the part ( I believe it was the capacitor) and then did a "tune up" on the ac unit (which it was in need of). He was very pleasant and showed a kind respect for my home by removing his shoes before coming into the house. He was done in less than an hour and I was delighted to have the ac back in working order.

ADan Wood Company
In June 2011 our air conditioner stopped cooling although it was still blowing air through the system. We called Dan Wood who identified that it was likely the Air Conditioner unit that needed to be replaced. He indicated that the freon level was low and that he could try to fix the leaks and refill it, but there would be no way he could be sure to catch all of the leaks or to be sure how long the fix would hold on an older (20+ years) unit. He gave us a price for both repair and replacement. I checked the prices against like units on the internet and they seemed fair. I also called another company and the price to replace the unit was more. We had Dan Woods do the work and it was done in one day. The technicians were pleasant and respectful of our home and landscaping. One month later there was a significant storm in the neighborhood of a home I have for sale. The straight line winds and lightning caused considerable damage. A couple of days after the storm the temperature went in the 90s and the air conditioning did not work. I called Dan Woods and explained that I hoped that I would not need a new air conditioner, as I had just replace the one at my other house and that this house was for sale. The technician cleaned out a wasp nest in the unit, replaced several fuses and the unit started working again. I was ecstatic! Two hours later it stopped again. I was less ecstatic. The technician came out the following day and did a through re-evaluation of the unit. He indicated that he felt that it was an electrical problem in the unit caused by the storm, and should be covered by my homeowners insurance. He provided me with written documentation to take to my insurance agent. The insurance company was reluctant to pay for a replacement initially so the technician had the agent call him for a more complete (and accurate) explanation of the problem that I could provide. The replacement was then covered by my insurance and the company applied what I had paid for the repair on the first visit toward my deductible. The work was done well and quickly. It is unusual to have 2 air conditioners go out within a month, but Dan Wood did a very professional job for me in both instances.

FC & N Heating & Cooling
Cand N Heating and Cooling (Mike Brownlee) came and installed the components, he did not replace the lines even though there was two different types of refrigerant and he didn't change his price because he used much less materials and time. The system had a noise outside at the condenser and I repeatedly called and emailed to get him to come back and fix it. He came back once and fiddled with it and said he had to come back. He says he came back again but I was not home to verify it, he said he took off some refrigerant which should fix the noise. Still not fixed. I called and emailed again he agreed to come back, I stayed home from work, he didn't show at agreed time so I called him and he advised he wasn't feeling well but he would be on his way. I waited the rest of the day and he never showed. Over the next two years he never again responded to my calls or emails. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY OR THIS MAN TO ANYONE FOR ANY WORK.

ANorris Heating & Cooling
Norris Heating and Cooling was wonderful. I had another company come out before I called them. The other company looked at my Air Conditioner, didn't fix anything, and then it was leaking worse than ever. They charged me $187. Norris came out and temporarily fixed it while waiting for the right part to come in and only charged me $85. While waiting for the part to come in, the other company called me and let me know that it would be $1200 to fix my air conditioner. I let them know that I decided to go with someone else. Norris fixed it for me for $490, including parts and labor. I will definitely use them again in the future. They're great guys!

AMike's Heating & Cooling
Mike came out promply and pressure checked the system and found there was no coolant. He came back a few days later (when he had more time available) and isolate the outside of the system from the inside to determine where the leak was. It was a coolant drying filter that had a small rust pinhole. He removed this and recharged the system and everything has been great. In taking the time to isolate the leak he saved us from having to get a new inside coil (around $400 + labor) or a new outside unit ($1200+)
