Recent Review: Jim was booked out for several months so I took his first available opening.  I am glad I waited for him.  Jim was always on time.  He was honest and nice to be around.  The cuts for the crown molding were intricate and in an old house hardly anything is square so I had handed him a real challenge.  I was thrilled with the end result.  Both the kitchen and the living room look completely transformed, just by adding the right detail.  He also fixed some baseboards and now the home looks just as I had hoped.  The work in the garage was also done very well.  Jim showed up on time.  He set the appropriate expectation for me in regards to the amount of time it would take for each project.  Overall, it was a great experience.

Recent Review: They would be "A" across the board if they would be doing the job. They were phenomenal in work but far more reasonable price. They were a couple of grand below. Their trimming door guy came out and did crown molding, did some trim and doors for me and I think he was absolutely phenomenally awesome. They were fantastic. Exceptional price, exceptional quality of work, extremely timely, and professional across the board.

Recent Review: I chose Kalamazoo Handymen Services mainly due to the excellent communication Mark showed from the very beginning. It gave me the confidence that he not only listens to his customers, but also would respond to email, phone, and text messages in a timely manner. This is a rare quality from not only a handyman, but also most contractors I have worked with in the past. They were hired to install base trim, chair rail, and crown molding, as well as 2 bifold doors and a half wall cap which was just over 1000 square feet worth in a finished basement. He sub'd out the crown and the painting which I was perfectly OK with, and informed me of his decision to do so ahead of time while providing a quote for the entire project. Mark and Ryan showed up early every day and worked between 6-8 hours each day until the job was finished. The entire project took about 2 weeks, give or take. If they had any questions or had any issues, he was quick to get in touch with me. Alternatively, they were both very patient with me and all of the questions/changes I had thrown at them. Would highly recommend and I will most likely be in contact with Kalamazoo Handymen Services down the road for more work! Thanks again Mark and Ryan. The finished product looks great!

AKalamazoo Custom Kitchens & Baths, Inc.
The project went very well, over all. We are very pleased with the design and workability of the space and the quality of the cabinets, tile, granite and fixtures. We ran into a couple minor hold ups when one cabinet had to be replaced due to a manufacturer error and additional crown molding needed to be ordered. But KCK made arrangements for the corrections timely; and KCK and the general contractor worked together to ensure that the overall project fell together smoothly.

ASwan's Handyman Service
It was the second time I used the services of Ryan Swann. It is great to have someone who knows how to do everything competently. I will be asking him to return next month to install two toilets & shelves in a craft room.

Jim was very professional. I felt comfortable with him in my home even when I had to step away to run errands. He was on time, very thorough, and a pleasure to work with. He did a great job! I would definitely refer him to my friends and family. And I would like to work with him again in the future as well!

ASilver Hammer Construction
We had a great experience with Silver Hammer Construction (SHC)! My wife and I were a little over ambitious with our DYI remodeling plans. After we tried (and failed) to repair the drywall ourselves in our kitchen (damaged from removing an old back splash) we decided to call a professional. We were impressed with the efficiency and quality of the drywall project, we decided to have SCH mount our new kitchen cabinets and crown molding for us. Beautifully done! After seeing how well the drywall and cabinets we done, we decided to have SHC install our back splash. Again, we couldn't have been more pleased. Throughout the process, I found myself seeking Robert's recommendations for how we should proceed with some of the minor modifications in the kitchen from trim, to molding, to shelving, etc. I really trusted his judgement and recommendations, and were not at all disappointed! Robert from SHC was very responsive and attentive to the many requests, and changes that we made throughout the process. Quite a few times throughout the process he would come back by the house after hours to address any issues or changes that we needed. Robert and Silver Hammer Construction went out of their way to ensure that we were completely satisfied with the work that was done. I will definitely work with them again!

I meet Mr. Gary Nickolson through Mr. Herbert Landwer and Mr. Mark Dewey, They are associated, Handyman in Kalamazoo. I called Gary on August 19th, I told him that i am renovating an old house, own by my husband since he was 20 years old, and need a lot of work and TLC. currently the tenant moved out and need to be ready to rent by September 1, I told Gary i have 1 week to renovate the house, then i am flying back to San Diego. He meet with me on August 20th at about 12:30pm. He looked around the house and said it need a lot of work. I told him my concern that i need help and want to finish the renovation by August 24, At first he is hesitant. he told me he can start the next day. but after hour and a half, i got a phone call from Gary and he said he went shopping and he is    going to start working. after half hour, i already seen the progress of the house, Gary work fast and accurate.. After a nightmare of hiring a scam, fraud Handyman from Craigslist. I finally have someone who can actually do the job properly. Gary is very honest, he go shopping and give you the reciept, he is on time, he also make suggestion. I felt like i know Gary for a very long time. I have ease of stress, and he made sure from the beginning to the end that he is going finish the job on time.I am very happy and satisfied with the beautiful work that Gary had done to our house.

FVanDam & Krusinga Building & Restoration
We had a broken pipe in the upstairs kitchen on 6/15/15 and subsequent flood of upper and lower level of home; we own a bi-level home. Van Dam & Krusinga came out to assess the damage and give a quote on 6/26/15.  Insurance approved them to start working.  It was agreed with insurance that they would clean up the flood mess, tear out specific walls and cabinets and restore the home; mainly the kitchen and lower level grate room.  We visited their showroom on 7/9/2015 to choose flooring and cabinets.  We were given a simple drawing of the cabinets on 7/28/15, only after we begged them three times for something from them.  We met with their "kitchen guy" Steve on 7/30/15 in order to understand the drawing and hopefully get some ideas from him.  He worked the computer and the 3D pictures, but refused to offer up any ideas, even after I stated, my husband and I have never done this and we are not creative.  He just stared at me when I said that.  They ordered the cabinets finally on 8/7/15.  Let me say, the guy in charge of our project, Scott, was not very good at all in returning emails or phone calls.  After awhile, all he would do is text.  Four of us are living in one half of the living room at this point; the only rooms not affected were the bathroom and three bedrooms.  The cabinets took 4 weeks to come in.  During those 4 weeks, the guys sporadically came and tore out cabinets and flooring and did the drywall.  The drywall was not done very well, especially the ceiling. You can still see many imperfections to this day.  The cabinets came in and were installed on 9/8/15.The refridgerator casing was not installed properly, two cabinets had been ordered at 30 inches when we needed 27 inch cabinets, the 9 inch end cabinet was misordered, needed to be larger, they installed the lazy susan cabinet door upside down.  Now new cabinets had to be ordered.   Meanwhile, we are still living out of the living room, 3 months later.  The flooring started to be installed on 9/11/15; starting downstairs first. The installer obviously didn't know how to do this and my husband spent several days asking them to start over.  My husband has continuously been asking Scott for completion dates on all phases and Scott does not answer or give him one.  Electrical outlets had to be repositioned after we made mention of errors.  They put up wall trim before we had finished painting so we had to paint after it was placed.  No professionalism at all or attention to finishing touches.  The flooring was put down and numerous places(at edges) were so not perfect.  Throughout all of this process, people just showed up at our house, NEVER any communication from Scott unless we called him.  This is not an exaggeration, he never communicated with us.  There is no attention to detail with this group.  The second set of cabinets arrived on 10/5/15.  Two cabinets were the wrong shade.  No sense of urgency with this group; we are still leaving out of our living room.  They dented our slider door downstairs, they dented our refrigerator, they gouged the painted walls; no attention to detail.  We haven't heard from Scott in weeks, now it is 10/20/15.crown molding never ordered properly, took weeks to arrive after this.  Scott never called us to tell us things had arrived.  We always had to wait and wait and then call him.  They last came out for finishing touches on 10/28/15 and we haven't heard from anyone since.  No one walked through our house when they were finished to see how the project ended.  No one called to say they were done.  No one called us to ask our opinion of the job.  The people at Van Dam & Krusinga, particularly Steve and Scott, are so unprofessional.  The worksmanship is horrible.   Use them to clean a mess, but nothing more.    p.s. they did the same poor job to our neighbor two houses away after he had a flood in 2015 as well.   I would NEVER recommend them.
