I requested repair through a home warranty company that we have stayed with since we purchased our house 6 years ago, about 2 months ago. Chris Arseno, of Arseno Residential, contacted us the next day after we submitted our request and set up an appointment very quickly. He was on time, very personable, and went right to the disposal unit. On the home warranty website, they did recommend looking at the circuit breakers and for a reset button on the unit, but the breakers were fine and I couldn't find any reset button. Within a minute, Chris found the reset button and the unit worked fine. He said that the unit was really old, and if anything else should happen to it that he would find a way to get it replaced. I asked him how much, as the service charge per home warranty company was $55, but he said forget it. For the minute or two, he would rather I give him a good recommendation with the home warranty company and maybe some referrals, which I gladly agreed to. He left his card and went on his way, less than 5 minutes after he arrived. Needless to say, I was very happy with him at that moment. Fast forward about a month, when what should arrive in my mailbox but a bill from the home warranty company for that $55. I was stunned. While I had been prepared to pay that amount when he was here, to be told no charge and later get a bill really stunned me. I tried calling him at the number on his card, but all I got was his answering machine, and he never did call me back. So after a couple of weeks I called home warranty company to discuss the problem. After explaining the entire situation, they put me on hold while they called Chris to get his side of the story. When they finally got back to me, they told me that he did agree that he had told me no charge, and the home warranty company agreed to send me credit for that $55 invoice. Needless to say, I am very happy with the home warranty company, but I am not happy with Chris for telling me one thing and then doing another. I will not fault him for his punctuality, knowledge or workmanship; however, I won't use him again because he lied to me.
