Dave came out to do the estimate. He patiently listened to our description of how we wanted the furnace and air conditioner replaced and in the process have ducts run to a previously unheated part of the house. He patiently explained that the existing duct work would not support the heat load we would be adding. He then suggested the installation of a small heat pump to serve the added area. We went with his proposal and are very glad we did. The work was done in a friendly and professional manner. We couldn't be more satisfied with the installation, equipment provided and the end result.

They arrived on time. Installed the new unit in less time than I expected. The crew cleaned up after themselves. I am very pleased with the workmanship and the new heat pump. It has reduced my eclectric bill considerably (approx $190 in the last 3 months compaired to 2010).

It went very well. My 30 year old heat pump went out last April timeframe. I used Angies list and had 6 companies provide quotes, most were local to the Howell area. I investigated Geotherm, but determined that was too much for my house $20K - $30K. I also investigated converting to propane - quotes from $14K - $18K, plus getting a propane tank in my yard. All the other 5 companies wanted to quote a whole new furnace system and heat pump, the least expensive system was $10K until Davison came out. They were my last quote, and I was so pleased when they said I only needed the heat pump and air handling system. I even called back a few days later to make sure I was going to be covered. I have had the new system since last July and am very pleased with it The only issue was I let them install it close to my bedroom area outside, and out of the way of my living room view because the installer said it would be very quiet. Well it was an extremely noisy system especially once the heat kicked in. so much so that I called to see if they could move it. At first they wanted to charge me, but then agreed to move it for free, but then we had to wait until after all the snow. So finally this April they were able to move it and it is much much better. I think it is noisy because its a bigger unit than my old system. I found Davison to be easy to work with and think they are there for the customer and offer what is needed for a house, and did not try to oversell a system over and above what was required. I feel I am knowledgeable at HVAC systems now, and just be careful when getting quotes, you do not always need the the highest SEER, My old system was an 8, and I now have a 13 and can tell the difference in my bills each month. I bought an affordable system, and feel a 18 or higher for my 1900 sq ft house would have been too much for my house and too much money, and the cost would not outweigh the benefit for years.

AHanks Heating and Cooling
We were hit by lightening in January (who would have expected that to happen) and it took out both units. So we called for repair and Brian came out and looked at it. He found the problem and a mess from years of mice nesting in both units. So we waited til spring to clean out the units completely and decide the most economical way to correct the problems. (That was not a problem for us since we also have a wood stove and electric baseboard heaters as a backup.) Brian came back in early spring and cleaned out and checked over everything. We discussed many possibilities starting with repair only. Since the units were old, we decided to replace the most used one and repair the other. He ordered parts and the new unit and promptly made the installation. He was prompt, friendly, removed his shoes each time he went in and out of the house, and left us with a beautiful new system. Both the new unit and the repaired unit are working perfectly and we are happy with his work. He was very careful to make sure the new unit hung in the very same place on the wall, preventing us from having to do any wall repair. Everything looks wonderful, and we will definitely call Brian at Hank's next time we need anything.

ASchutz Heating & Cooling
We had gotten quotes from several places in the area for a new furnace.  Tony from Schutz was the most professional and most knowledgeable of all the people we met with.  We decided to go with them and they installed the whole package for us.  They showed up on time, and finish everything in one day.  These guys are great, true to their world and offer a great warranty for their work.  Defiantly someone I would do business with again and highly recommend to anyone looking to replace a heating and cooling system.  We had a question the day after install and Tony came out and took a look and took care of us.  Top noch service that you dont see very often today.  Great company.

On Wednesday, 08/01/2012, my wife and grandson give me a panicky message that we have no hot water!  I checked, found no hot water, even though power vent motor, on water heater, was busilly humming along.  Went to Angies list and looked up plumbers.  Mike Madden (Prime Plumbing) stood out with straight "A"s, and great reviews.  Placed phone call (which was promptly answered), told him problem.  Even though it was moderately late in the day, he was quite prepared to come out, diagnose problem, and, either fix it right then, or, if parts were needed that he didn't have available, he would be able to get them and be back first thing in the morning.  I told him it wasn't an emergency so coming out next day would be fine.  We set up appointment for noon the next day.  At 1045 AM, on Thursday, 08/02/2012, Mike called to apologise, his worker was running late, but would be here by 1230.  Sure enough, his man showed up, fixed what seemed to be the problem (bad relief valve), ran some tests and found that the valve was not the problem.  About this time, Mike Madden showed up, introduced himself, and got involved in the diagnosis.  It appeared that the igniter was malfunctioning (cycling on and off, so flame didn't stay lit), and, moneywise, it would make more sense to replace entire water heater unit than to fix the existing water heater unit ( 15 years old).  Mike started making phone calls, found a replacement water heater, gave me a price for the unit, including installation ($1400.00), sent other employee to pick it up, asked if I wanted them to install tonight, or would 9:00AM, on 3rd be acceptable?  I said Friday morning would be fine.  He did not require any "up front money", told me he would call in morning and left.8:14 Friday morning, Mike called, asked if he could come early.  Arrived at 8:28, went to work.  He had estimated 2 men, 2 hours, work took a little longer due to some unforeseen problems with our piping.  We use heat pumps for A/C that use well water to function, so turning water off, for any extended period, would cause some discomfort.  Mike waited till last possible moment to have me turn off water supply, so water was off less than an hour.    Unit was up and running before noon.  Mike did not charge any extra money for additional time spent on job, was extremely cordial and informative.  Both Mike, and his assistant were neat in appearance, dressed appropriately for the job at hand, and were extremely polite.  The utility room, where water heater is located, is neater and cleaner now, than when he arrived.  Mike did not charge any money for the time spent diagnosing problem, nor for the relief valve his man had replaced on Thursday.I have had many occasions, over the years, to interact with service providers, Mike Madden (PRIME PLUMBING), provided the best experience I have ever had!He is the man/company I am going to use, from now on, for any other plumbing work I need done. Michael Gow, Faussett Rd, Howell, Michigan 48855!

Recent Review: Came out to home personally on same day I called for estimate to discuss various options available. Offered a cost saving alternative to the air conditioner that needed to be replaced. Installation went smooth and looks professional. Solution has significantly reduced heating and cooling expenses by about 30%. Very satisfied and would use again without hesitation. (Hybrid Solution involves high efficiency heat pump and blower motor replacing 13-year old air conditioner. Now I can heat home with heat pump when temps are above 25 degrees, and cool home for about half the cost as the old A/C unit cost. I have cut propane use by almost 60%, and now have 3 ways to heat home, heat pump, propane furnace, or my existing wood stove.)
